This is my go to store since moving to the area. It's clean, well stocked and the have a whole coffee bean section just for me.
I saw some negative reviews about management but quite frankly I have never had to talk to a manager no matter what grocery store I am in. So I can not speak for that or prices. Do you have what I am looking for and is it fresh. Every time I stop here the answer is yes except for yesterday. That is why only 4 stars. My feta olive mix was sold out. But seriously, big selection, some things I will never try. I'm sure our grandparents didn't have issues eating it, but not for me, if that gives you a hint.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris M.Cleveland, OH24110283Jun 3, 2022
I love Zagaras! They offer free delivery for orders over $50 and have a Whole Foods like selection but much more reasonable (and not owned by you-know-who).
Family owned and operated is so important to me in this era of obscene corporatism - that this is a no-brainer for me.
It's definitely a nice size full-scale supermarket with gourmet and healthier choices.
It is my go-to store and suits me perfectly ethically and hungrilyHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 26, 2022
Yes, they can be pricey. It's true. But they are local and independently owned, and are right in the heart of Cleveland Heights. Not a superstore, but still a good selection. They also have a licensed liquor store inside! They have had to scale back some hours during the pandemic, but are still serving the community.

Independently owned, pays their employees living wages, really great options that rival Whole Foods, and tucked neatly into our little corner of Cleveland Heights. Very rarely have we ever gone in and not found what we needed for a reasonable price. The store is clean and the clientele and staff alike are always pleasant to be around.
I highly recommend making this your grocery store of choice!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris D.Cleveland, OH330254Dec 8, 2019Updated review
We don't get here often but when we are out and about, we like to stop for provisions or just to see what might be new we missed at other local stores.
Always a great experience and their customer service is fantastic! I wish they could be a smidge closer to our zip code but we definitely don't mind making the extra drive to shop....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 19, 2019Previous reviewNever heard of this place until we happened upon it about 6 months ago (we are from out of town). What a pleasant experience! Love the atmosphere and so many more items available than the local Bird Store.

I stopped in to pick up sushi for lunch and was disappointed to hear it's been discontinued. However, I got a pleasant surprise. Zagara's soups, in the deli/hot foods department, are amazing! I enjoyed the Lobster Bisque soup and fresh bread. Very delicious! During another visit, I bought the Gumbo soup--another hit--very tasty! I always appreciate great service from your associates!
(I hope you can bring back the sushi rolls.)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelly S.Cleveland Heights, OH16997133Jan 19, 2018
A middle of the road grocery store. I like it better than Dave's, but less than Whole Foods. I often go to Zagara's since it's close to my house, but I also frequently drive farther for the much better produce, meat, and hot food selections at Whole Foods.
The store is clean, staff are nice. The produce is okay. I spend a little time picking through the produce, but it's nothing too bothersome. Prices are a little expensive, probably more expensive than Whole Foods produce and worse quality. Zagara's does have large heads of garlic, which is awesome! They pre-package some produce items, which makes them more convenient to grab, but also more expensive and they're not even prepped.
Meat selection is fine, but no high quality meat. Good wine selections, they sell liquor, which is a big plus.
I've never been impressed with their hot foods or premade food things. I do think their bakery sandwich bread is ok.
They add a charge for credit card purchases under $25.
Oftentimes there are school organizations selling things in the front. Great place to pick up Girl Scout cookies!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
