I was there I saw several children in the room so as long as they can act cooperative I don't see why not

Honestly the food is too over priced and not great. Steak was tough. Filet mignon was salty AF. I don't care if it was dry aged or however they prepare it. I went through 6 glasses of water. Overhyped, overpriced and honestly not even cooked properly. If you ask for medium, they'll give you a raw piece of steak. Would give it 0 stars, but the service was actually great.

Nice ambiance. Loud but I like it like that because it just shows people having a good time. Was pretty full around 6 p.m. the steak wasn't the best I've ever tried but it wasn't bad. Just needed a little more flavor. Fast service.

Wolfgang's Steakhouse first restaurant.
Stylish space with table seating and a BAR counter.
There are about 7 slices of meat for one person,I recommend sharing various parts of the meat with everyone.
And,I recommend the side dish of mashed potatoes and cream spinach to go with it!
They wrapped up what we couldn't finish with takeout.
It was delicious even when I went home and re-cooked it!
The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable eating there.
What I ordered was:
・PRIME NY SIRLOIN STEAK
・RIBEYE STEAK
・MASHED POTATOES
・SPINACH CREAMED
・CHEESECAKE
・ICED COFFEHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 20241 check-in
Celebrated my 40th Birthday at Wolfgang's. I would say I had a so-so experience. I had a 8:30PM reservation, but when I arrived I was told it was going to be a wait time. I wound up waiting about 20 minutes or so. Which was a little annoying and to further frustrate things was it's very loud there, which is almost standard at most NYC steakhouses, but the manager told the hostess that the table was ready, but since she was so busy applying lipstick and chatting with the other hostess, I had to stand there and wait even longer, when it wasn't necessary.
Now, onto to the good part. After we were seated we seemingly got two servers because it was two different guys coming over to assist. They were extremely friendly and cordial. I did not want steak, but did end up having some of the Porterhouse steak, which was pretty good, but I actually was in the mood for Salmon. The Salmon was a little bland, but more importantly, didn't come with any accompaniments. I've been to many steakhouses which provided vegetables, at the minimum with it. I would have still ordered spinach and mashed potatoes but still found it awkward for nothing to come on the player aside from lemon.
I know several of my criticisms make it seem like I had a bad experience, but overall I would say it was good. I appreciated the severs constantly checking on the table and singing Happy Birthday. I'm not sure if I would return but I definitely did enjoy my birthday!
Cheers to 40!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Apr 19, 20242 check-ins
Several years going and still arguably the best version of Peter Luger outside of the Brooklyn mainstay. Raw bar with east coast oysters are a great start, the dry aged rib eye steak holds it own with any steakhouse in the city and the porterhouse does not disappoint.

Came in a large group of 17, so got to try quite a few things. Overall, the steak was worth the price although the sides and desserts were more lackluster.
Started off with complimentary bread and butter which were standard too.
I got the porterhouse for 3, medium rare, and it was indeed cooked medium rare. The sear was nicely seasoned but still tender in the middle, and I appreciated their slightly sweet tomato sauce that are bottled. I didn't realize porterhouse comes with both filet and sirloin pieces before.
I got a bottle of Australian Shiraz ($70ish) that I'd get again.
Tried the Brussel sprouts (good), mash potatoes (I thought okay, but others thought it tasted like from a box), sauteed spinach (not as creamy and flavorful as others like Smith and Wollensky), and onion rings (alright).
None of the desserts are housemade and most come with a huge amount of homemade whip cream. The pecan pie was the best of what we got. Tried also the cheesecake (tasted alternatively artificial and alright), creme brulee (too much of a citrus taste for me), and key lime pie (more of a lemon flavor).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 19182170Jan 13, 2024
Came here for my birthday! We had reservations and were seated right away. The seating was super tight not gonna lie, but it was also very packed and loud in the restaurant so keep that in mind if you're coming to have a deep talk with someone lol. Our waiter honestly came off as cold and I felt rushed when interacting, but perhaps it was a stressful night because of how busy it was in the restaurant. It was a little disappointing compared to service I've gotten at other steakhouses, but I understand we are all human. Now the food. I was really impressed by the char and juiciness of the steak. The sides were also delicious and my drink was nice and strong so I only needed one lol. I definitely felt like this was better than Peter Luger in terms of taste and quality. The restaurant is also really beautiful inside. Would definitely return again!

Decent NY steak house option.
Pretty cosy setting... we got there early on a weekday, and it was already quite packed.
Ordered the porterhouse for 2. It was actually cooked well (perfect medium rare), although too much butter for my liking. Nice dry aged flavor. It was super rich likely due to the butter and my friend & I were drinking a lot of water after.
Canadian bacon appetizer was underwhelming. Lugers is significantly better, and so this is a hard pass for me.
Ordered brussel sprouts and fries for sides, and thought that both were really good.
I felt that the prices were reasonable for a NY steakhouse.
Only let down was the service. Definitely got a feeling that they were trying to rush us through. Get much better service at basically any other steak house that I've been to.Helpful 8Thanks 3Love this 7Oh no 1 - Dec 23, 2023
Comparable to Luger's! Thought food was great. Ambiance was very old school NY. Servers were friendly and accommodating! Would come back! Only negative was a couple pieces of meat had some gristle so you couldn't eat like a couple small pieces. Other than that, food was delicious!

My daughter and I came here on a Wednesday for our last dinner in NYC. I figured who does steakhouses best? NYC.
We made a reservation for 6:30pm, but we got there around 6:10. We were a bit early, so I figured they would have us wait; however, I was pleasantly surprised when we were seated right away, no problem. Here, I am all happy about our initial treatment and prompt service until we are dumped in the far corner of the restaurant. It had very little lighting. I thought, since there's only 2 of us perhaps, that's why?
We were greeted by the server and was handed a menu. He was professional but lacked the warmth of customer service. He was short, and he was always rushed. Mind you, when we were sitting down, there were plenty of empty tables. The place was not busy yet. He assumed we wanted flat water? Cause he said flat water, and as he walked away, I said no, I want sparkling water. He got the message of "maybe I should do my job." He came back and actually took our drink orders. This was already a 2nd red flag to me.
For appetizers, my daughter and I ordered Canadian Bacon and Crab Cake. Let me tell ya! That bacon was so good. I've never had bacon that was crunchy and buttery at the same time. I love the smoky flavor of the bacon and the chewyness of the fat. The crab cake was delicious as well. They did not skimp on the crab meat, you can taste the quality of the crab (I'm from MD, so we know a thing or 2 when it comes to crabs) being from MD even my daughter said, that was the best crab cake she's ever had. Love the tar-tar sauce, it add3d the creamy, zingyness to the buttery and fatty crab cake.
For our main, we had ordered Porterhouse for 2 and a side of cream of spinach and German potatoes. We had requested a medium rare, and we got exactly that. The steak had a nice sear that had a crusty bite on the outside, yet it retained the buttery chewyness of medium rare inside. He ran the steak on the plate (which was still hot) that cooked the steak slightly, but not too much that it became medium. They do their steaks well, and since this is our first steakhouse experience in NY, we were blown away with the quality of the meat and its presentation. I'm from the DC area, and we can definitely learn a thing or 2 when it comes to good steaks.
Unfortunately, the service just went downhill from here. We were not asked how our meal was and had no pleasantries. We did get asked if we were done 2x by 2 different people. The table next to us, 2 businessmen with suits on did get asked how their meal was and if they need anything else. Wouldn't it be nice to get the same service?
We had to tell our waiter that we wanted desserts. How am I telling you how to do your job? I know I may not look like your typical customer, but I can guarantee you I paid the exact same amount for that porterhouse as those 2 businessmen. In fact, I ordered more than they did plus dessert! Don't treat me like a low class because I don't fit in your mold.
Well, anyways.. dessert was good. Cheesecake was good, I rarely eat cheesecakes, but this one topped all other cheesecakes I've ever had.
My overall experience could have been better, and I had a terrible service. Oh well! Will be taking my money to Keens then..Helpful 4Thanks 3Love this 3Oh no 3
