I hardly ever leave reviews, but my stay at this inn has been stuck on my mind for the past year.
To get the quick stuff out of the way: this place is old, creaky, and ridiculously overpriced. I had to stay here to attend a wedding in 2020 so I didn't have much choice. But if this crappy little part of MD happens to build a motel 8, I would choose the motel over this place. Heck, I'd even pitch a tent at a homeless encampment if it meant not staying here again.
But why, do you ask, has this place been stuck in my head?
Upon check-in, the elderly woman working the desk felt the need to tell us, UNPROMPTED, that COVID is a hoax and that we'll never hear about it again after the election. She went on about this for a few minutes before we gave her an "uh-huh" and ran away with our room key. It is now August, almost a full year after the election, and I often wonder if that lady is dead. Or maybe she's still sitting at that front desk dishing out moronic health advice? If so, I have a Jewish Space Laser (TM) I'd like to sell her. It kills Covid, AND heats up water so that you don't have to take a frigid shower at Kent Manor.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael A.Pikesville, MD09Apr 19, 2022
Stayed overnight for a little quiet getaway and good night sleep. Unfortunately, when we went to bed around 11pm, the lobby was filled with loud drunk people and the noise REALLY carries in this place. I did call down to reception to ask them if there was anything they could do, but the person seemed annoyed to be getting the call. Bar area was supposed to close at 10pm but this went on until after 1am. Just not what we expected for the price of the room and the quaint inn feel it has.
I attempted to reach out to them after our stay to give them this feedback, but never got a response.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole Z.Washington, DC333149324Apr 25, 2019
My parents and I have been coming here for easer brunch every year for the last 4 years. This year was no different, this time my boyfriend Michael was included. I was excited for its raw seafood bar, rib roast and a buffet filled with every breakfast item you would want. The atmosphere of the manor elevates the dining experience. This year was disappointing. Granted it was Easter and they were busy, but the service was a bit disorganized. Everyone seemed frazzled which caused a nervous anxious environment for the diners, at least for my table.
The raw bar was nice, the shrimp cocktails were jumbo and perfect, they usual crab claws were also tasty, but I was disappointed they didn't offer oysters this year! The prime rib was sooo over cooked the girl at the slicing station could not slice actual pieces. Instead she plopped a crumble mess of torn apart dry meat. At least the creamy horseradish sauce was tasty.
The buffet was weak and quality of the food and dishes seemed cheap - almost like like a holiday inn buffet - eek I hate to make that comparison. The coffee was watered down, the mimosas tasted like pure orange juice and the Bloody Mary tasted like canned Bloody Mary mix with no vodka. All in all - disappointing Easter brunch. I gave it three stars for the smiling faces of the staff who clearly tried to deliver a good brunch despite the chaos and for the potential this place has as it used to deliver amazing brunches.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2018
A beaut of a manor! Lovely and charming home, can tell it has been lovingly maintained. However, bathrooms are in need of cleaning (stains in toilet bowl and shower looked like they could easily be scrubbed...but weren't). Mismatched, threadbare towels. Also, there weren't many people in the hotel for our stay, yet they put the only other people with children directly above us. Cue incessant running back and forth all evening and again from 7am. They offered to move us, but we had paid extra for a fireplace room and were told there were no other available rooms with a fireplace. Again, it really is a lovely place to stay if you don't have children running overheard and if you can overlook a semi-clean bathroom.

They should post a sign, "George Washington Slept here" because I think that is the last time they invested in the Inn.
Coronavirus has really taken its toll. The reception desk is a manila envelope with your keys in it left in a basket. After 4 pm there are no live staff members. I guess if you don't like your room, go down and take somebody else's envelope. Keep in mind it is a historic location so no elevator so be prepared to carry your suitcases up the stairs by yourself.
The room smelled like an old fireplace, the rooms are dark. (On the positive the room is painted well.) The bathroom steps down three steps from the bedroom in to a tiny room. The bathtub is terribly stained and the metal finish on the tub has been stained by cleaning chemicals. The sink is so small hard to put your toothbrush down.
Instead of food service they put a box of old muffins and crackers in your room.
Absolutely the worst hotel visit I think we have ever had. I bet you George thought the same thing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - StephAnie P.New Oxford, PA076Mar 13, 2017
What a perfect treat on Sunday! Enjoyed the " Champagne Sunday Brunch" here yesterday.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our server was excellent. Nate was attentive, cordial but not overbearing.
The various stations of food choices, was a nice variety.
Ham, roast beef, omellette station, as well as a beautiful raw bar.
Desert choices, fresh fruits & alternate choices, chicken, pork loin too.
Charming old home.
Everyone very professional.
Enjoyed walking the grounds afterwards & seeing the dock too.
Whether planning a wedding or just a special meal, Kent Manor Inn is the perfect choice!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sylvie Khajuria W.Elkridge, MD31345Sep 11, 2016
The three stars are for the food at Sunday brunch. It is delicious and there's quite a variety from salads to omelet station to ham carvery.
What they lost stars for is lack of service to our table. I literally watched our server ask every table before us for coffee/mimosas/juice and walked right by us. Can't tell if it was because of our almost 6 yo who us (who was sitting quietly enjoying his food) or because I was the wrong color. You can say it's my imagination, but I didn't imagine not being asked throughout the hour we sat there if everything was ok or if we needed anything.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karen L.Crownsville, MD151Sep 7, 2021
First let me say I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you had the venue looking so beautiful because after our last site visit, I had my doubts. But Ashton, you pulled through on your promise that all the equipment would be gone, and the Inn would be ready to service guests. Then, on the night of the wedding, you, LaFawn, Shoneece and wait stuff were amazing in every way possible. We all worked together to set up the venue just as the couple expected. The cocktail hour stations were presented beautifully and thanks so much for taking down the tables, so the dancers had plenty of room.  We needed to move up dinner about 15 minutes and your culinary team rocked it with a delicious meal (please give my thanks to the chef for the portabella sandwich, yummy!). Then, offering to take all the decor down was over the top appreciated!! Your team is a planner's dream come true, a partner in planning and on the wedding day. Oh, I can't forget Deb! Thanks so much for upgrading the couple to the most beautiful room with a great view and for giving the dancers a room to change. Also, it was important for the parents of the bride to have a specific room, which you juggled to make happen. I just can't thank you all enough. When my couples are looking for a location on the ES of MD, I will be sure to recommend the Kent Manor Inn.

Beautiful place! We woke up too late for breakfast. You can hear every word your neighbor says but the charm is in the decor and outdoor areas

Historic Inn with a reputation to uphold and they DO! PERFECT place for my husband and I to enjoy Thanksgiving. The drive over from Annapolis on a gorgeous fall day and then afterward we sat out on the dock and enjoyed the stillness and unexpectedly warm day.
You never felt rushed. The staff was organized and attentive and the food was varied, flavorful and creatively prepared and presented.
We will be going back for our wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
