A neglected playground in an already neglected part of town. While some of the other newer playground have the fancy Astro turf or rubberized padding, this one still has sand. The swing creaks like it's going to snap. Parks of the structure are boarded off with plywood. There's tons on dog poop on the grass field and sidewalk. All this for a playground within walking distance of a library and several schools.

Some might say they think it's outdated. I say "what the hell are you looking at when your looking at something that's clean & has kids enjoying themselves. I grew up in this area in Geneva Towers, the park was fun; but unsafe. It was all made of wood & a whole lot of sand. Sounds fun & exciting. No!! It was unsafe, broken beer bottles, metal beer bottle caps, garbage, homeless found sleeping in park, graffiti everywhere & random dogs not on a leash found roaming the park. If you look at the photo's the park is a lot more modern & safe for kids.. I think they did a great job, park & recreation also found cleaning park in the morning, they empty trash bins & make sure it's clean for the children that arrive & play in the afternoon. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is people don't pick up there dog poop. People don't read the sign that says no dogs on athletic field. Which it states not on the grass. People still take there dogs on the field & walk there dog on the field that says no dogs. Folks this is not a dog park. It's a playground for children to play. Not your dogs to poop on.. It's sad they have owners to lazy to pick there own dogs poop. You notice this around the park but if you walk towards Visitation by the baseball mound you will see dried up dog poop. Other than that the park area for the kids is super clean. They also have a boys & girls club. Besides Covid & the poop; the park playground is beautiful..

Conveniently located next to the new library built on the corner of Leland and Rutland 2 years ago. When the kids are getting bored at home, then this is a very good place to let them play on the swing and slides. There is also a field for baseball and softball.

Overall, nice spot for an outdoor recreation area.

Great place to bring your kids to play. Park is right next to the new library that was recently build. Park could use an update and extra police patrol due to some young adults hanging out and smoking on or near the play structures every now and then.
