Another all-u-can-eat joint that I visited during my latest trip to NC.
When eating at this buffet, the quality might not (likely not) be the quality you'd expect from a Pizza Hut, Dominos or Papa John's. So set your expectations VERY low and your disappointment will be minimal.
I did notice that the service and cleanliness were a bit sketchy, but the food was decent. In fact, the better pizzas were quickly ravaged upon delivery to the buffet table and were generally were pretty good.
If you like cheap food and don't mind poor service, this place is a decent option.
Personally, I would much prefer to order pizza and eat at home.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eric E.Claremont, NC0322Oct 27, 2023
Used to love this buffet but it has change in the last year. Went there last Saturday at 1pm bar had a couple of cold hard pizzas . Asked for a fresh pepperoni waited and nothing when back and asked was told in the oven looked and nothing was in the oven waited until they did make one and brought out, the crust used to be like thin crispy and more that one piece of pepperoni per slice. Man I miss the old one that used to be beside kings department store.

Some days the pizza on buffet is great, and fresh, but when business slows the pizza on buffet is left sitting until it's crusty and hard. Best salad bar around!!

Worst experience ever! We purchased the buffet (a huge mistake) and there was hardly any pizza. What was there was cold and hard. In the approximately 30 minutes we were there, not ONE new, hot pizza was put out. There wasn't even silverware! I asked for a fork and was told they were being washed. We had to wait 10 minutes to get a fork so we could eat our salads. I asked if any new pizza was being put out and was told "they are coming". We waited another 15 minutes and no pizza! So we left. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but the service has now fallen to a new low. We won't be back!

This place is nasty. I can't believe they serve food here. I'd rather eat gas station sushi than ever eat here again.

I ordered crunchy pizza and got it home it was soggy in the middle. Had to recook it in my own oven to get it crispy.

Not fancy but great for a good lunch at a great price.
This is the second Village Inn Pizza in Statesville and it's on the westside just off of I-40 at exit 128. It's the older of the two since the other one replaced the original Village Inn about a year ago.
It's near the end of an old strip mall anchored by Southern States near the end.
Looks small when you walk it but that's just the main area with the buffet , front counter and a small number of booths. A much larger dining area is off to the side where you can spread out.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the buffet table is well stocked and constantly being replenished. Did not partake of the salad bar today but normally very good as well.
All you can eat and with tea, my bill was still under $7.00. Arrive early and hungry and enjoy yourself.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Linda R.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Feb 3, 2022
I ordered 2 buffets and 2 sweet teas. As I was sitting down I noticed that there were 5 to 6 tables that were dirty. The tables were not cleaned of previous customer plates and the buffet bar had cold pizza. There were a least 3 employees working. One employee was eating behind the counter where guest can see him. This particular restaurant is not where I would recommend as a clean and good place to dine in and eat. Customers shouldn't have to asked for the buffet or salad bar to be refilled with fresh food. My rating Would be a 1.

Not bad at all. I had heard several rumors it had gone down hill. People I know complained that they never had any fresh pizza on the buffet and it was a mess. So honestly I expected the worst going in on a Monday afternoon at 3 PM.
To my surprise, everything was clean, orderly and fully stocked. I was greeted at the counter by two very nice employees one of which offered to make us a pizza of our choice. Which was good because even though the pizza was fully stocked it was old. They obviously hadn't had any business since the lunch rush. But they kept the pizza coming as customers started to stroll in.
Their salad bar is impressive. No bigger than what it is, they have a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, cheeses and much more. I will be sure to tell everyone I know that they have turn things around and it is definitely worth giving it a second chance.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Luke M.NC, NC03Jun 13, 2022
Terrible food. Compared to other village inn locations it is pig slop. Ranch tastes moldy. Lettuce is not fresh at all. Pizza was cold.
