Vaso Azzurro Ristorante

The food is fine, not great. It's very over-priced for the quality. Maybe it was just a bad night but the "host" kept interrupting our family dinner to talk to us about the restaurant, the chef, the singing, etc. It made for a bad experience and we won't go back.

The restaurant has a very lovely atmosphere. Lively yet has this cozy charm. The chef and owner came out to greet tables, most of the waiters were also very friendly and made jokes. I say *most* because we had a waiter who misunderstood something but was a bit pushy with us.

Most of the meals were also delicious! The appetizers were great. I got the steamed clams and calamari. Some might consider the portions to be small but I thought it was fine because we got appetizer, salad and entree. All of it was very flavorful and the wine sauce was aromatic. We also got the Cesar and another salad, they offered black pepper and cheese. However the real test is the entree. I got the chicken piccata, it was a little sour but overall the sauce was decent. I didn't try the rest of my party's meals but everyone enjoyed it.

I kid you not the highlight of the meal was the focaccia bread with olive oil and garlic! They were also very generous with the portions and gave us more.

Be sure to take advantage of yelp reservation! It quickly got full on a Friday night

We don't dine here too often since it's a long drive for us. We do like and don't mind it when we feel like having Italian and has become one of our go tos for a couple years. However, our recent visit here this week was very disappointing.

We ordered our usual Calamari, Fettucine, gnocchi, chicken parm, and Ceasars salad. Overall the food didn't taste as good or fresh. The fettucine, chicken. Parm had a funky flavor that was quite a bit off. Also every dish was so bland we had to use the table salt. We're very sensitive to salty foods and this was just inedible.

I wouldn't consider this place cheap eats as each dish averages $25-30. We can make better tasting meals at home.

I'm not sure what happened to the quality of the food here. Needless to say, we are likely not coming back. Too bad as we enjoy dining here since the service is always welcoming. Unfortunately the food is no longer that.

Food is ok but not Italian- they need to call it an "Italian Style" restaurant

If you can't cook Italian food better than this at home, you need to watch GMA Gina on YouTube and save yourself some cash

AH-MAZING experience, from the moment we started walking in up through the end without ceasing until we left.

The owner was in such a great mood he was singing (very well). He was friendly, happy, and it was infectious.

I ordered the Pollo Niko and an Italian Soda
The chicken and the sauce was delicious, rich and creamy. The mashed potatoes were excellent.

My wife ordered the lasagna (9 out of 10)

We also got an Apple Strudel. It was so good I momentarily forgot my name!!!

We came here for our daughter's birthday and was greeted by the owner/Chef. He sat us at the Chef's table. I knew we were off to a great start!

The restaurant was very nice and clean. Great service from start to finish. Everyone was so attentive and welcoming.

My boyfriend surprised me to a dinner to celebrate me. He made a reservation for a weekday at 8pm. It was kind of busy that night and when we checked-in with the host, it seemed as if they did not take down our reservation. We were seated a few minutes after.

When we were seated and were given the menu to look over. We ordered the Carpaccio, Fettucine Alfredo with Shrimp and Ravioli. We received our drinks, complimentary bread and the carpaccio. Everything tasted good. However, we were waiting for so long for our pasta dishes. We were seeing others that ordered after us get their pasta dishes. Time has passed by and someone finally checked in on us and our food. We didn't even get an apology or anything. The staff was nice, but I felt like they were being nice to try and avoid us being upset about our food.

We have mixed feelings. We thought the food was good, but the service was not great. Honestly, after our experience, I don't know if we would return. We had our reservation at 8pm and we didn't leave until 2 hours later.

Enjoyed a smooth 2019 Barbera accompanied by lobster raviolis and seafood azzoro (pasta), and ended our night with teramasu and cheesecake. Throughout our dinner, service perfecto. You can't go wrong with this gem

The vibe is just casual Italian diner, nothing special.

The service is quite good and fast as we were the first and only for a while customers at the restaurant at 6pm on a Friday night.

We ordered the calamari as appetizer and it was ok. The pastas we ordered were Linguini Azzuro and Spaghetti Carbonara. Both were very generous portion sizes and both tasted ok.

Just felt like a mid Italian restaurant for me, especially for the relatively higher pasta prices.

Located in Downtown Mountain View, parking is plentiful. Seating is abundant and is offered both indoors and outdoors. The servers are quite nice and check up on you occasionally.
Capellini al Pomodoro Fresco (5/5): served at a perfect temperature. The noodles were easy to chew and were soft. The tomatoes were cooked perfectly and complemented the noodles well. The flavor was on point and really held the dish together.
Overall, Vaso Azzurro Ristorante is a spectacular place for delicious Italian food. I would definitely come back here.
