Another day for BBQ. I had the sliced brisket w/ baked beans and coleslaw as the sides. Brisket is good, nice thick slices and you can see the smoke ring on the meat. Baked beans are typical baked beans like you could get from the store. Coleslaw is tangy and mildly sweet, you can definitely taste bite from the vinegar. I'll pass on the slaw, just not for me. Overall really good.
Changing jobs so I won't be coming here very often. Wish I would have come here so much sooner than I did. Very good BBQ, don't pass this place up if you are on the fence with stopping. Stop in and get your eat on.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 7, 2020Previous reviewGot the pulled pork sammich. I love they keep the bun separate and put the meat in a container and then wrap the bread separate. Meat is really good; juicy and tender. The bbq sauce is amazing. I got the sweet and Carolina sweet.
Mac and cheese is always a huge question mark. However, THIS mac and cheese is the best by far of any bbq joint you could go to. I'll take a big 'ol stupid bowl of this mac and cheese by itself. Basic potato salad done really well.
Best lunch in a long time. - Joshua S.MI, MI36527Dec 28, 2019
It could be easy to miss this place, but wow - I am so glad a friend led me here!
The jerk chicken was not as spicy as I expected. But there are a variety of sauces at each table to enhance any meal.
An excellent find and an authentic and flavorful gem in the Lansing area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 843631502Aug 29, 2018Updated review
I returned today for the Sliced Brisket with 2 sides and I am pleased to report that the quality, flavor and consistency of this establishment remains impeccable and extraordinary.

Hats off to the chef and crew members for another outstanding lunch! It's good to know where to go when We need our smoky, tangy, sweet and juicy BBQ fix. We shall return soon. I would like to see the chef compete on the TV Show "BBQ Pitmasters". I am sure that he would take 1st place!
Oct 12, 2017Previous reviewWent back for lunch with friends from work yesterday. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. When co-workers come from out of town they insist on coming back here. Quality is consistently excellent at this establishment. Just take a look at the pictures. You can practically taste how good everything is here from the photos. You know that you want it, come and get it! Half rack of pork ribs and 2 small sides for $12.95. YUMMY!
Jun 13, 2017Previous reviewI had a light BBQ snack last week. 3 Ribs and 1 side for $7.95. I know the picture has 4 rib bones in it. That is because they always do their best to please the customer. I am a regular here. Always so very good here. I enjoy the way the BBQ smoke greets you outside as you stroll from your car to the front door. There is no better recommendation that can be made than repeat business. I am looking forward to my next BBQ fix here. I am going to bring my friends here soon so they can see what I am drooling about. See the pork fat and bacon in the beans? FLAVA!
May 24, 2017Previous reviewConsistently Excellent BBQ! I try to make it here once per week. Service is fast and courteous. Clean restrooms. Lots of hot sauces to choose from. Word is getting out about this hidden gem of a restaurant. Yesterday was the most crowded I have seen.
May 18, 2017Previous reviewI went back for the Beef Brisket with Cole slaw and Rice with Beans. ($11.95) Everything was excellent. Brisket was tender, juicy, savory and succulent with just the right amount of fat. Fat is flavor!!The Cole slaw was fresh veggies with a just right sweet dressing. The rice and beans were good as well. This is a consistently outstanding BBQ establishment no matter what you order.
Apr 19, 2017Previous reviewP.S.2 I went back today for the Jerk Chicken. I ordered the leg quarter with 1 side for $6.95 and 3 smoked jumbo wings for $5.45. $13.14 total after tax. I could smell the wonderful smokiness when the platter was set before me. The chicken was moist and tender. The Jerk seasoning was best complimented by the Bourbon sauce. The Haitian Slaw was a little too vinegary for my taste but at least I tried it. Another great lunch!
Apr 17, 2017Previous reviewP.S. I went back today 04/17/2017 and tried the Sliced Beef Brisket with 2 sides for $11.95. It was tender and moist. This was some of the best Brisket I have ever experienced. Next time I will try their Jerk Chicken.
Apr 11, 2017Previous reviewI chose this establishment for lunch based on the recommendations of my fellow Yelpsters. Keep on posting baby!
I tried the half rack of pork ribs with 2 small sides for $12.95. They brought the order out to my table. But wait! Don't slather the meat with sauce yet! Taste the meat on your plate as it is first. I tasted a wonderful balance between smokiness, spices and marinade. These were also the most tender pork ribs I have ever had! You can't have great BBQ without starting with great meat. Cooked to perfection (Al dente, to the bite off the bone!). For sides I got their homemade Mac and cheese and the Baked beans. Try mixing some Jalapenos into your Mac and cheese like I do. Be bold! Go spicy! The baked beans were excellent with real pork fat chunks in it. Restroom was clean and odorless. Service was courteous and efficient.
I shall return here regularly. I can't wait to try the Brisket. I would like to see Beef Ribs on the menu. I will look for the Ox tail stew special as well. - Wm L.White Lake charter Township, MI51236Jan 20, 2020
Hands down the best BBQ, not made by my family.
Juliano's sauces rival my cousin Keith's and My Brother's, proven and award winng sauces!
Spicy coleslaw is unparralelled. The humble looking veggie medley... unparalelled!

A South-side gem!
Do yourself a favor and go for an early dinner, the brisket, two sides, and a soda is possibly the best $12 you can spend in Lansing, but, If you leave with out trying the sweet potato pie you failed!
You won't be disappointed and the guys running the joint are super friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Darren M.Mason, MI11614Oct 4, 2016
This place is really cool and I definitely recommend that you try it out. Now that that is out for the way, I will get into details.
I stopped here on a weekday around 1230. I was warmly greeted by one half of the management /staff and she kindly helped me settle on a dish - jerk chicken with beans, rice, and a very good Carribean gravy with peppers to pour over the meal. I also wanted to try the mac and cheese and this was offered to me on the house due to me being a first time customer.
The chicken was very moist and had a pleasant kick. But for me, the real standout was the rice and beans with the pepper gravy. So good I ordered more to go for lunch the rest of the week. I plan to return for the curry which I understand is dairy and coconut free. I also got to try the brisket thanks to a friendly customer who offered to share. It was really moist and I enjoyed it. BBQ people are picky about what they like so your mileage may vary.
After speaking with the lady and noticing chicken curry I realized this is really a Haitian / Indian inspired restaurant wrapped in bar-b-que. Definitely a welcome addition to the Lansing food scene!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michael T.Lansing, MI072Jul 7, 2016
This place is sooo cute. And the proprietors are absolutely the friendliest, and most helpful, and interesting people! But most importantly, the food is INCREDIBLE!
It is barbecue, but the chef being from Haiti, it is with the most incredible Caribbean flair. I had Jamaican Jerk ribs which were a special for the day, and they were delicious! Being Caribbean, they had beans and rice, and theirs is probably the best I've ever had! Next time, I'm going to ask them if they have a large version!
The only thing to warned about is that parking is quite tough indeed. I'd suggest parking in the back, but even then there's place for maybe three cars. One can park in the front, but awkwardly. But go! This place is amazing. Quirky, pretty, comfortable, and with such great proprietors!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rejaul K.Lansing, MI10342Jun 18, 2018
Hands down, best Haitian bbq in Lansing area.
A hidden treasure in the south.
We ordered sliced brisket which comes with two sides of rice and red beans and mais moulin (haitian corn meal) which comes with spicy lip smacking gravy . Briskets were so tender and juicy which paired excellently with smoky sauces. Our waitress was very helpful with her fast service and recommendations. All at very reasonable prices .To all bbq fanatics, this small joint is likely to surprise you with the depth of its flavors.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
