Our Smokehouse cuisine boasts to be the best Barbecue in Eastern Virginia. The menu offers classic comfort food dishes. We source fresh, local ingredients for our menu. Our business is family owned and operated, with a friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Everything we prepare is homemade, just like Mama made it! Located in the outskirts of historic Williamsburg, we brought the Colonial vibe out to the country through our childhood experiences with the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums Corps.

Came by here in early November 2023 excited for a new barbecue place to try. Ordered the pimento and pork belly burger and brisket. Pork belly burger was fantastic. Loved every bite.
The brisket...was hard, dry, and chewy. It was a piece where you knew the moment you served it that it was low quality. They could've told us they were out of brisket or that it didn't meet standards and we would've ordered anything else. But that was what they considered their best foot forward. That's just lazy and embarrassing.
Many people tout this as best in the area, but when you miss that badly on what is the crown jewel of barbecue, I don't know how anyone can take those reviews seriously.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 28, 2023
Perfectly average. It's a good local place that has good food, but we've noticed that the portions are getting smaller and the prices are not changing. I know the food costs are rising, so a slight change, and that is understandable, but we've noticed a substantial difference.
The atmosphere doesn't really have an ambience. It also is pretty generic, but not bad. They do have a great outdoor seating section. That's usually heated during the winter. That's a great alternative option. Inside can get really noisy really quickly and make it difficult for conversation at the table.
Service is usually pleasant and it doesn't take a long time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 16, 2024Updated review4 check-ins
Best BBQ in the area. Regular stop for us and never a disappointment. New menu has some changes, plus a seafood special today. Nice to see some new options!

The bbq is great here but more importantly...the sides are just as good!
We had the pulled pork with green beans, baked beans, Mac and cheese, butternut squash fries and collard greens. They were all amazing! I don't normally like baked beans but these were so good I plan to get them next time! The service was good, we sat at the bar.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 16, 2023
We stopped in as we traveled from Richmond to Williamsburg. Service was excellent.
My husband ordered a plate that included ribs and brisket, and I had the brisket burnt ends. My burnt ends came with a different sauce than what they offer on the table, and it was our favorite sauce. I also had a side of fried green tomatoes that were great!
The decor is fun with various drum themed items.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 2023
Our friends and neighbors have been telling us about Two Drummers, so we had to try it ourselves.
We had so much fun going for an early dinner. We walked in around 5:15 pm, and while the bar was pretty full, there were lots of tables open, and one booth. We asked to be seated at the booth. After we sat down, more and more diners arrived.
We started with their Mel-garita (a traditional margarita named after one of their bartenders). It was bright and tasty. We also enjoyed their sweet tea.
They had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and we couldn't resist. They were perfectly done--the tomatoes were juicy and crisp, and the breading was light. We dipped them in a yummy tomato ranch.
For dinner we ordered the pulled pork sandwich, topped with cole slaw. We also got a side of collards -- so good -- especially with their traditional bbq sauce. We also ordered the brisket entree, with cole slaw and hushpuppies. We enjoyed the tangy vinegar sauce with the brisket.
We had so much food, we took half home to enjoy later.
The restaurant is casual and laid back. They also have outdoor dining under a tent.
Bands play music outside on Thursdays, and we were advised to make reservations for those nights. They may have music other days too. I'm not sure. They take reservations, except day-of, so plan ahead--at least by one day.
Now, after writing this review, I'm ready for more Two Drummers BBQ!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2023
Yummmmy. My husband and I came here because my brother recommended it. He also recommended the French dip , which I should have gotten. My husband got that and it was amazing. He let me have a bite and I knew I made the wrong choice. I got the pulled pork platter with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The pork was cold and flavorless. The sides were great though. We also started with the meatballs. They were huge and delicious. Our server was nice too. The place was clean. They had booths and tables. All the booths were full so we sat at a table. There were a bunch of people eating inside too. Next time we come back, I am DEFINITELY getting the French dip!

We were looking forward to coming back after such a great first visit. The service was ok. But the most disappointing part was the menu had changed. They took off the pickle fried chicken and other items. I hate when restaurants change. Especially when it's something you have come for. I wasn't impressed at all with my dinner. I doubt I will make the trip again.

It wasn't much from the outside, but cars were parked down the road. Ok let's turn around. We found a gem near Williamsburg. From the minute you walk in, the waitstaff will remind you of a by gone day. (Thank you Riley) Seriously, could this be some of the best waitstaff around?? Now the food... we had the brisket, portobellos, cherry smoked pork, and pickle fried chicken. I have to say the pickle fried chicken and brisket (moist) was amazing. The food could feed two people easily. The sides were just ok. Nothing to write home about. It's all about the meat here. There is a full bar will pitchers of specialty beer at just $21. We would come again just for the waitstaff.

First time ever eating in the restaurant and first time back after a year, and I don't know why it took us so long to come back as the food is so good!
We came for restaurant week 2023 and got tons of food for the price and all of it was delicious!
Food:
White Chicken chili-delicious! The chips that are served with them are house made and make a great addition to the chili!
Cuban sandwich-lots of filling and flavorful!
Mac & Cheese-nice and creamy
Pulled pork-can taste that smoked goodness, very moist and doesn't need bbq sauce but their sauces are good if you do want to add them!
BBQ beans- so good and flavorful.
Fries- nice and crispy and have a little bit of crunchy coating.
Cornbread- nice and soft and sweet!
Desserts- they have nightingale ice cream sandwich and let me tell you that the Cookie Monster one I had was so so so good! I wish I had a stockpile of these in my freezer!
Pecan pie-very good still!
Our server Caroline was awesome as well or I would say the icing on the cake to the whole experience. She was on top of everything and extremely nice.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Feb 3, 2022Previous reviewFirst time getting food here but it won't be our last!
Decided to try one of their dinner-to-go packages. We had the Cajun jambalaya, smoked chicken, cornbread, salad and tea for $40 for four people and everything was delicious!!!!!
Plenty of food and all of it was tasty. I'm excited to try more of their different weekly offerings.
Their ranch is extremely good. And they give you a huge tub to go with the salad.
Extremely nice service as well.
We were also craving dessert so we ordered a slice of their chocolate cake and pecan pie. Chocolate cake was a little dry and for $6 not worth the small slice. Pecan pie was also delicious but again for $6 not worth it.
