Q:
Which room is better, the Hacienda or the Casita?
A:
Both are really nice. Hacienda has a bedroom and living room in one large room plus soaking tubs. Casitas have 2 rooms, a bedroom and a living room. Photos are on www.tubacgolfresort.com. Hope this helps!

First time getting a craniosacral massage from Michelle.
Michelle is a great healer! Her hands are a gift from God If you haven't tried one it releases emotional pain and stress.
I feel like a new person! The ambiance is very relaxing and comforting!
For lunch I had the apple pecan salad with salmon and a fruit cup.
I also had a manicure at the salon and caramel ice cream from the gift shop! I will definitely be back.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Joy E.Glendora, CA62549Feb 19, 2024
We stayed 3 nights here... we ate dinner at Stables, had a facial at the spa, and just enjoyed the resort.
Upon walking into the room, we were impressed by how beautiful it was. It was very clean and well maintained. The fireplace was a nice addition. It was nice to sit on the back porch and watch the golfers golf.
The facial at the spa was incredible. The best facial I have ever had! Maria gets 5 stars plus!!! It was so relaxing and my face felt great after!!!
Stables restaurant's food was over the top! I don't usually like a lot of pasta or sausage but their pasta was incredible... it had so much flavor!!! The apple pie was definitely made from scratch... one of the best for sure!!!
Overall, this has been an incredible stay!!! I would definitely come back!!!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Mar 22, 20241 check-in
Really wonderful experience, and very nice accommodations. A few things seem a little outdated, and could be updated or clean a little bit better, such as fixtures. Landscaping is meticulous, and the pools are absolutely phenomenal and the highlight of the week.

Our first time at this resort and so far it has been fantastic! The staff are incredible and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are very southwestern, comfortable and clean. The Stables restaurant is very good and the staff, again, are fabulous!

It's been a magical week with perfect weather great staff and the smells and decor of the resort are warm relaxing and almost spiritual in the way they bring in the nature and the beautiful upkeep of the hotel grounds.

Great resort with three nice nine hole courses, played a two day tournament here and stayed here on property. Buildings are really cool and the history . the inside is a little dated , needs to be updated with new fixtures and the outlets and worn out office chair

Just had to submit a positive review regarding the staff at the golf clubhouse. Very professional, friendly, and genuinely concerned about assisting in every way. After golfing in the Phoenix area for years and becoming accustomed to how staff there treat people, it was a real eye-opener to not only be treated so respectfully and courteously, but to see others treated with the same concern.

Stayed here for two nights - would not recommend. The first night we got back from dinner to discover that the archway over our front door had a massive bat infestation. I'm talking dozens of bats flying in and out of the space right before the door to our room - clearly a nest that was built up over a period of days or weeks. When we called the front desk, there was only one person on staff for the whole (sold out) resort - a receptionist. There was no one to help with maintenance for the entire resort and the lady at the front desk had no solutions for us. Not even a helpful suggestion. She literally told us "Yeah there's nothing we can do. So you'll just have to wait until the morning." In addition, we had to hop a wall and break into our own room because there no one had a key to the back door, and one of nearly got severely injured when the wall came apart!! For the price tag of a stay here it is DEFINITELY not worth it - get an airbnb in the village, or better yet, go stay at a much nicer resort in Tucson for slightly cheaper. 0/10

It had been some time since we'd stayed here because of COVID, but decided to come back on another Rate Special Promotion. Thankfully, the essentials are the same, but some things need updating, some things got pricier, and some things just went away.
The room comforts and amenities are superior as before. But the in-room information binder, in-room music CD's and Room Service went away. We'll miss Room Service the most because it was just so well-executed in the past.
The landscaping and Pool are as exceptionally maintained as before.
The Mexican restaurant, Dos Silos is now open only for special events. Stables Grille still serves great Traditional American food, but the pricing is much higher as is the case in most places. $40-$60 for breakfast and lunch for two complete dinners for two will come to $100-$150.
The Fitness Center seems just as I left it years ago. It seems well-maintained, but could use a re-design and sprucing up.
The staff is as knowledgeable and helpful as before.
Still 4 stars, still the Queen Resort in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your review!
Jul 17, 2018Previous reviewWe've stayed here often as a Staycation as a couple. This hotel is the best resort we've experienced that did not have an ocean attached to it. I would have given it 5 stars except for a couple of minor (to us) issues:
The WiFi is spotty, and the pool area, although very nice, offers no food & beverage service and has no music. For our purposes, those were the only two issues.
The food in their restaurants, Stables (Fine American) and Dos Silos (Fine Mexican) are EXCELLENT! Ditto for their Room Service. Maybe pricey for some, but better value than other similar great resorts we've stayed in.
The Golfing is likely very good (Tin Cup was partially filmed here) because my brother-in-law, who shoots in the 80's, is dying to stay here when he and my sister from DFW next come to visit.
The Fitness Center is small and nicely appointed. The Spa is beautiful and seems to be operated as well as the best in the business. The Gift Shop is nice and small with cool stuff and travel necessities.
The grounds are very non-desert: lush, flowering and green. Park-like with paths between the golf course, main buildings, posadas, casitas and haciendas. Upscale residential subdivisions surround the resort. The landscape Maintenance is diligent, apparently.
Our casita was spacious, Southwestern, with a large bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The Private Patio was great for rain-watching and just relaxing.
We rented a couple of bicycles (hadn't ridden one in about 25 years), paid $5/hour, rode into Tubac (about a mile that seemed farther!), back and into the surrounding neighborhood and back. We then took our car, and measured the distance ridden. 4.1 miles in 45 minutes. We patted ourselves on the back (we're 58), and hit the pool.
We booked this on very short notice because of an email offering select dates for $99/night. Our two-day stay was $234 out the door. Incredible for a resort this nice at any time of the year.
Tip: Tubac is only a mile way, however, EVERTHING shuts down early.

A big shout out to the wait staff at Stables restaurant. They were so accommodating New Year's Eve. We sat outside to enjoy the absolutely breathtaking beauty and were warm enough with the repositioning of heat lamps. The burgers and fries are our favorite! Not sure what they use for their seasoning, but it was perfect.
