Honestly I wish I could experience this for the first time again! The experience in itself is on point. Make sure you scan the QR code early on in the day because reservations fill so fast. We paid for early access to Super Mario World and only 20 minutes in all reservations were full.
After getting our reservation we got a confirmation email and arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and got let in to the entry way. Toad is on a screen to welcome you in and then you get to order at the cashier.
We ordered the super star lemon squash, Mario Burger, Bowsers Fireball Challenge, and the Block Tiramisu.
The lemon squash was like a lemon soda with some boba jelly and was relatively refreshing. Bowser's Fireball challenge had a good spice to it but I wish the meatball was more moist because it was fairly dry. The Mario Burger was pretty decent but came out lukewarm and was also pretty dry. The Block Tiramisu was the best thing we had although it's a small serving it came in a mystery block made of shortbread cookies.
Overall the food is alright but the experience and decor is so immersive and very well put together that I would recommend experiencing it at least once.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 18, 2024
I went here first thing when the park opened for early access to Super Nintendo World. I got the lemonade boba which was very refreshing. I also got the Luigi burger which is a pesto grilled chicken burger with a slice of green bell pepper and it comes with truffle fries which were so delicious!
This place is great and beats a lot of theme parks for style and flavor. The service was amazing. Everyone was so kind and inside was super cool! What a great experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elaine W.Los Angeles, CA137May 17, 2024
The waitlist opens periodically throughout the day. So even if the waitlist is full, try again in a few hours and they might have an opening! We got into the cafe at 1:30pm and took ~1 hour to get through the indoor line to order. I came with a large group so we were able to try many items!
We ordered the...
1. Cheesy Garlic Knots (3/5)
Good parmesan flavor; could've used some more garlic. It was more chewy than fluffy. The marinara sauce was ok; wasn't too flavorful.
2. Super Star Lemon Squash (4/5)
Really refreshing lemon soda with some fun popping boba and jelly to chew on. Solid drink.
3. Power Up Spaghetti Marinara (3/5)
Came kind of dry (not enough sauce), so I added the marinara sauce for the garlic knots to it, which definitely helped (didn't affect the taste). Meatballs were alright and not too dry. Sauce does have a heat that builds up. Lacking some flavor since it tasted like sauce straight from a jar without additional seasoning.
4. Mario Burger (2/5)
Typical burger you'd find anywhere. Nothing really stood out about it. Dry patty, average fries.
5. Super Mushroom Soup (5/5)
I LOVE mushrooms, so this was a hit for me. Obviously, it has a strong mushroom taste, but also a good amount of gritty (?) texture. (Note: you get to keep the bowl; make sure to ask for a box)
6. Princess Peach Cupcake (1/5)
It tasted like straight up sugar. Extremely sweet and the frosting was slightly grainy (?). Definitely geared towards those with a strong sweet tooth. However, the jam filling was nice.
7. Mt. Beanpole Cake (2/5)
Tasted like plain sugar as well. All the layers of cream and cake tasted the same, so there wasn't really much flavor apart from sugar. Was not as overwhelmingly sweet as the cupcake.
8. ? Block Tiramisu (3/5)
Not as sweet as the other desserts, so we ate the most of this one. Didn't really have the coffee flavor tiramisu is known for. It seems like it was previously frozen since the middle was rock hard. Same with the cookie pieces around it. It felt like I was gnawing on a brick.
The servers were great and kept an upbeat attitude! The actual dining area is super cute and I didn't find the lights or sounds too distracting. Since it's a themed cafe, the food more pricey for the amount you get. It's more of a "one and done" thing for me, but it's a nice place to dine if you haven't visited before.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 15, 2024
Very cute ambiance. First you order the. You are allowed to wait in separate line to get a table which does move fairly quickly. Also note to eat here because it's busy you need to reserve your spot on the QR code link/website day of. The website is "secretly" online if you google it otherwise you have to physically go there and get the QR to get on waitlist.
Luigi Chicken Burger better than Mario Burger--the Mario Burger wasn't that great. Fries were good.
So the soups are like $20 but you do get to keep the soup bowl. It is cute but keep in mind you have ti carry it around with you whole day id you get it.
The tomato soup tasted horrible I couldn't finish it and it was super small too. I think the mushroom soup likely tasted better.
Garlic Butter Nots were average.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 14, 2024
I wasn't expecting much since it is a restaurant inside a theme park but had to try it once.
The queue was full and closed when we arrived in the morning but we kept an eye on the waitlist in case it opened up again. A few spots did show up in the late afternoon so we were able to snag a seating. When you enter, it's just a long line the snakes to the inside of the cafe where you then have to line up again to place your order at the register.
We ordered short rib and tiramisu. After you order, they'll find a seat for you and deliver the food to your spot. The food comes out pretty quick and the decor is pretty cool but I wouldn't come here again. The food was average and it took way too long to just place an order.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 11090183May 4, 2024
I was so excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, the reservations were sold out by the time we got into the park. We went back to check at around 4:30pm and were able to get a reservation!
You order at the counter, get seated, then your food is delivered when ready. It was a bit different than what I expected but still very cute!
We tried their toadstool cheesy garlic knots, Mario burger, and block tiramisu. I loved their garlic knots, but they did have a bit too much Parmesan for my liking. The burger and fries were good, and the cookies with the tiramisu were amazing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 25011396672Apr 25, 20241 check-in
First of all you need to make a reservation which you cannot do until you get to Super Mario World. There is a QR code by the entrance. If nothing comes up on the webpage, then check again as we were able to make a reservation after checking a couple times.
At the time of the reservation people start lining up to check in with the hostess. Would suggest getting there 5 minutes before. You stand in line to order at the counter and then after that, you stand in another line to get a table. Once you are seated then they bring your food to you.
All the food and the decor is obviously themed to match Super Mario. The food is pretty good for amusement park food. They have kids options and were pretty good sized portions too.Helpful 8Thanks 2Love this 7Oh no 0 - 18123258May 13, 2024
I might have had too high expectations for this cafe because I'm used to Disney theme park food always hitting the mark. Unfortunately, the food here was theme park food in disguise under the cutely decorated foods.
I ordered the fruit and berry salad, the kids cheeseburger, and the burger with bacon. The salad was actually pretty good and dressed appropriately. The croutons were cute and in a shape of an egg. The salad also had a good amount of fresh fruit like berries and star fruit! The cheeseburger with bacon was average but the crinkle cut fries were seasoned well and crispy. The kids cheeseburger was not satisfactory. The cheese wasn't melted nor did it have flavor. The burger meat also tasted like school like patty. A little disappointing that it felt like they used a lower quality meat for a children's meal. I do appreciate how it came with a good amount of crinkle cut fries, broccoli and corn. It did seem like a balanced meal overall. The cookie inside the ? Gold box was very sweet. It was shaped like a gold coin and was basically white colored covered chocolate cookie.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4787943748Apr 16, 20241 check-in
Toadstool Cafe is the only restaurant/food option at Nintendo World. We did early access into Super Nintendo World and easily made reservations with their QR code at the restaurant entrance.
The whole restaurant is toadstool theme decorated. Super cute!
There was only one person working the counter so it took a while to order.
They don't have breakfast items. Their menu is the same all day. Who wants to eat short rib for breakfast? We did. Their menu screen changes way too fast. Everything looked so cute. We ordered the Toadstool cheesy garlic knots, Super Mushroom Soup, which was $20 and comes with a plastic toadstool bowl for you to take home, and the Chef Toad Short Rib special, which came with braised short rib, creamy polenta, and red wine reduction. I wanted to try their desserts because of how cute they looked, but it was too early to eat it all at 8:45 am. The short rib was alright. It was a little dry, but the wine reduction helped. The cheesy garlic knots are the same as all the cheesy garlic knots you've eaten in the past. They're great! The mushroom soup was good, but not good enough to order again.
Would I come here again? Yes, for the themed experience and I really want to order all the desserts!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 152243695Apr 8, 20241 check-in
Reservations via QR code or at this website: https://www.zomatobook.com/widget/makereservation03.aspx?id=467JWPDC1
. Once you get a reservation you show up 5 mins before your reservation time, then you wait in line to order your food at the counter. After you order, you wait in another line to wait for a table. You get a number for your table and they bring you the food to your table. Presentation of the food was great. Pasta was actually pretty good. The kids meal comes with a cookie. Luigi pesto burger and fries are yummy. Short ribs are also great. Dessert- tiramisu was the best one. Peach cupcake was cute but just mid- tasting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 3, 20241 check-in
Once you are able to get in and order, the inside of the restaurant is really cute. There are toads all around on screens walking in their town and working in the kitchen. That keep the kids entertained while we waited for food.
The food was pretty good for theme park food. The kids meal was perfect, I love that it comes with some broccoli that was cooked very well, not mushy at all, it still had a small crunch.
The cupcake was beautiful, it was super sweet. A confetti cupcake with a jam filling.
The burgers were decent. The fries were a hit with the kids. A good experience if you can make it in to put in your order.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
