They dogged us on the receipt. Gave us the wrong bottle and overcharged. Crazy that that's allowed

I always love coming here for a couple of glasses of wine. They have a great selection to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable about the wines they serve.
Nice in the summer to sit outside. Great in the winter as the inside is so cozy and homey.
Wine is a bit expensive but worth it for the experience.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 12, 2024
I met a friend for a drink at the Wine Room before dinner, and it was a bit disappointing.
Ambiance is cozy chic, but there was an unpleasant musty odor.
The service was a little slow, and it took 20+ minutes for them to serve the Mediterranean Toasts.
The only food we had were the Mediterranean Toasts, and they were fresh and flavorful. The issue was that the toast was too crunchy/hard that it was difficult to eat with a fork and/or knife.
Given the average service for premium pricing, we probably won't be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paramita R.Walnut Creek, CA892048Apr 6, 2024
This is my recommended go-to spot for Palo Alto locals, people who travel, and corporate social.
During my most recent visit last week to Palo Alto, one of my favorite destinations because of the best University, Hospital, and boutique dining scene, I recommended this place to an Exec of a startup Healthcare who invited me from Walnut Creek to explore their product, meet their people, spend a day at their company workspace location, and show me some of his choices.
The Wine Room was my pick!
Ambiance: So cozy as usual, nestled with students, cute dates, and professional people in every corner sipping some of the amazing wines. We opted to go and sit in the inside library, the place which is perfect for hosting small friends and family get-togethers, and corporate socials, and have been invited as a premier guest for a top financial corporate San Francisco company.
Wines: One of the solid wine lists that you can expect, starting from Napa Valley to European collections. This time, the Executive insisted on ordering a full bottle of red. I kept strong to a glass of my favorite Rose bubbles from Reims, France . So delicious, creamy, tastes of strawberry- just mind-blowing and transporting me back to Champagne, France.
I chose a fine delicate pour of Pinot Noir from France for my host after tasting the Pinot.. I was surprised by the quality and the flavor profile by the French Pinot- I wish I could have some, with some bites.
Apparently, my host wasted quite much of the Pinot, which he thought the wine was bad. 100 percent not! I calmly asked my host to leave it when he asked me to drink it up, leaving to uncomfortable silence.
They have changing menus so best to go there and check out what they are offering!
Service: Outstanding! The server kept checking on me with the needs and expectations. I felt relaxed. Sooner, he seated two additional guests in front of us with my permission, which made me feel elated.
Thank you for your service, outstanding hospitality for taking care of a unique corporate uncultured silence. Will be back again! Cheers and LoveHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 36181546Jan 29, 2024
Came here to meet up a friend of mine to catch up on a Sunday evening. It is nicely tucked away but with plenty of parking around. Felt safe walking around at night.
It is a small establishment with cozy environment and sort of help yourself type of arrangement. We picked a corner place and waited for service and didn't happen. We walked to the bar but caught someone serving food. He was super helpful and picked a nice bottle for us and helped us order some appetizers.
The French Chardonnay was super yummy. Crisp and refreshing. Strong apple notes. It went well with the cheese platter we got.
It is a very small place and completely understaffed. So do take that into consideration. Once you have their attention, they are very helpful and nice. It was a great cozy spot to hang out with friends. Would like to come back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S V.Austin, TX278836May 13, 2024
I've come here often but the bartender this evening was just plain rude and had me questioning what his deal was Note: I was the only person of color around and he basically ignored me. Once my friend got there he went up to her to take our order. When he approached my table (on multiple occasions) he basically ignored me and only asked her about refills etc. I truly don't know what I did to this man but such a disappointing experience from a place I have frequented in the past.

Cute and cozy date spot in Palo Alto. We just randomly stumbled upon this place when we were in that side of town. The Wine Room has a bar in the front and a bunch of couches in the back. We tried a couple of their red wines, which were both great. It's the perfect setting for a date night.

It was around d 5 pm, and my date wanted a drink.
We stopped by and ordered a sandwich, and it was good and basic.and ordered a bottle of white, the savingnon blanc.
Lime/Lemon pairs well with San Pellegrino, while ordering I asked if they had any one of the guys working responded with this isn't a full bar so there's no reason to have limes/lemons.
It's not really what he said, but how he said it . No big deal, no limes. You're in the service industry, dude, tone it down and passify the situation, or explore different options to satisfy paying clients.its the level of smugness like we should be happy being in his presence lol. After that, I was completely turned off . I can see other reviews mentioning the lack of customer service and how they treat their patrons.
It is a shame because this business is in a prime location, has a very cute interior, and also has outdoor seating. They also have a decent selections of wines to enjoy. I will not return.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Juliya R.San Francisco, CA135Feb 23, 2024
Cute. Intimate. Feels like you're hanging out in your great grandparents' living room. Nice place to have a conversation and enjoy a glass of wine or port on a weeknight. Probably way too crowded on weekends and kitchen closes pretty early so don't come hungry. Pleasant experience overall.
