We took the Picture Rocks tour sunset tour and when we got back to Munising started looking for a white fish dinner. We were directed to "the best" in town but found out it had a two hour wait!!! Nothing is worth that kind of wait even when everything closes by 9 pm. After much discussion, we decided to drive back to the house and see what was open along the way. (I think we were all opting for the grocery store)

But then, sparkling in the UP night was the Tanglewood Inn. It was open and had a bar; at this point anything with food would do. Well not only was the Tanglewood clean and friendly, they had white fish. Our group ordered 3 grilled and one fried dinner. They were everything we expected: good, clean-tasting fresh caught fish. The fried fish platter had enough on it to give us a fish sandwich the next day.

As an added note. The bartender was really good and entertaining. Although it was late, I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary. I was told it had a secret ingredient when I commented how good it was. By the end of meal, I knew the secret but will not tell. Just order one for yourself.

5 stars given for the fact that the Tanglewood is a good restaurant in the middle of the UP where everything closes up early.

      Sparkling bar.

This is a down home place that I really liked. We went there for breakfast a few times and it was great. Big portions and yummy. Loved

This place was very busy because it's really the only place open before 12 noon. The two girls who were working were running all over the place working hard but they are understaffed.

Food came out cold but it was fine, just a normal breakfast food. My French toast was pretty good.

I heard the one waitress swear a few times which doesn't offend me but it's unprofessional.

Terrible!! Sucks!! Two people on staff. Where are the owners?? Food was disappointing. Had to server myself and table. People were leaving without paying. Dumb and dumber never noticed. I'd like to say they were hard at work but I'm pretty sure I saw her picking her nose. Actually found the owner sitting. Someone brought a dog in here.

Family of 4 visiting the Upper Peninsula for the first time. Came here on a very busy Sunday morning for breakfast with only one waitress working who was very friendly even though she was extremely busy. The food was good, the pancakes/etc. were fairly typical but, the breakfast pastie was the highlight of the meal & definitely worth returning for - SO good! We plan to make another trip up here soon & will most likely come back here for breakfast.

Traveling from Pictured Rocks back home to the lower peninsula while we were on a waterfall tour we happened across this restaurant and are so glad we did!
The special of the day a whitefish sandwich was beyond delicious and a very generous portion!
They were also accommodating to my sister who is a vegetarian.
      Highly recommend!

Good, solid food with portions that fill your belly. Busy with not much staff but the staff that shows up went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I'd definitely go here again when I'm back in the area.

Good spot for breakfast. Nice and clean. Friendly waitress. We had two skillets, pancakes (blueberry). Everything was excellent. Would come here again for sure. (This is one of very few breakfast places in/near Munising)

This place is a hidden gem. Burgers were delicious and the side were standard bar fare cooked perfectly.

Always a great place to stop. Awesome food, prices, staff. Stopped here on way to kayak Lake Superior and glad we did. Clean, accommodating, and friendly place. This is now one of our stops when heading West through the U.P. Stop and check it out! :)
