Stayed here with my Granddaughter while visiting. We felt safe knowing you needed a key card to access the elevator. The desk is staffed 24 hours as well. The hotel was amazing, staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable, very clean. The service was exceptional. I would stay here again. We walked over to a nearby store for snacks and had dinner in the restaurant downstairs one night. You have everything you need nearby.

Met a west coast friend in town for a conference. I live in Philadelphia now. Was excited to see hotel was listed as pet friendly since my friend and dog have known each other as long as I have known my dog. But it was even better than that - the staff were very friendly with pets and even had milk bones behind the desk. The pictures in the restaurant were also animal related.
I've traveled all over this country with pets, and usually small places do not go out of their way to be so great. It's almost like stating a place is pet- friendly is the extent of it. Not at the River Inn. They are very friendly and very accommodating.
Valet parking for the night was nice, too, so I didn't have to find street parking or worry about my vehicle.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 20211691302Sep 2, 2019
I absolutely loved my stay at The River Inn! From walking in to the lobby, checking in and having the valet service, a restaurant on the first floor and an elevator (accessible only by card), made our stay feel completely safe, comfortable, and lavish.
The suite had plenty of room, a full kitchen, a living room, and a king sized bed. The decor was very modernized and clean, I felt like I was at home.
The River Inn also has a restaurant on the first floor, which provides full meals. Breakfast is NOT included, but the food was actually good and a great way to start your day before hitting those monumental sights!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 7216065604Jun 14, 2019
Great great stay! The employees were beyond nice and accommodating! When you walk in they either smile or speak which is so nice! There is always water with fruit inside and some type of fruit on the side for you to enjoy! They also have complimentary electric bikes you can enjoy! All of these things were really nice! For safety reason not just anyone can go to the floors. You must have a key to enter a elevator there. I love that feature so a random person is going through to the rooms. They have a restaurant that is very nice and has a bar inside.
The neighbor that accompanies the area is very nice. Since very family driven and I didn't have any problems the whole time I was there. There are several nice restaurants that are walking distance as well!! I really enjoyed that because I love to walk and I love good food!!
Parking in DC can be a hassle depending on where you are. This location has street parking but it's a max of 2 hours and there are a few other rules. The hotel offers parking spots under a Garage if you are staying there so that's one less worry. It's such a nice place!
If you are on the look out for a hotel that is nice to stay at this is a true runner for the prize!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 1 - Robert D.Huntington Beach, CA129Apr 16, 2023
We're grateful to the River inn and Ashley for rescuing us from another place nearby. Our unit was clean and spacious and had a lovely view. We would absolutely stay here again. Great AC which we lacked in the other place! Would just recommend a fan for the bathroom since there isn't a window.

My shiba loved staying here. Me, eh, could use AC working but it was Antarctica froze over DC that weekend.

Very nice hotel--large, clean rooms; full kitchenette where you can cook pretty much anything; & friendly staff. It was my birthday and the desk staff left me a card and free wine in my room! So thoughtful! Also the River Inn is in a great location--it's on a quiet, tree-lined street just a block and a half from both the metro & a Trader Joe's. Foggy Bottom is a great & safe neighborhood to stay in with plenty of restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel! Especially for the price.

Adrian (awesome lady at the front desk) is THEE absolute best!!! Her customer service skills are beyond superb! After she found out it was my birthday, I received a card and wine. It didn't end there with this awesome human, thanks for making our visit so great!

We stayed here on our recent trip to DC. It worked perfectly for us. It had what we needed with comfortable rooms. The location was the main draw. You can easily walk to shopping in Georgetown and down to the Capitol as well.
I like that the units have kitchenettes. There is a Whole Foods in walking distance that we got some goodies to keep in our room for snacking.
This hotel is on the older side so it doesn't have the amenities that a newer hotel might have but it does have a lot of charm.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 14, 2016
This place is awesome. It is in a quaint neighborhood. Everything around it is beautiful. The staff is in their game. The rooms are emasculate.
Now you have to get valet because their is street parking. Valet is $40/ night.
I will come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
