I rarely leave reviews unless it's a 5 Star or 1 Star. The Kova blew me away. I had the BEC and a Flat White, they know how to do eggs right. The yolk was HOT, the bacon crispy, the roll and arugula was the perfect combination. My wife had the EggSparagus which was great, and my son had the burger.

I recently discovered The KOVA while searching for a brunch spot on Staten Island. Upon arrival, we were greeted and given choice to pick our seating. The restaurant was fairly quiet with only a couple of other people. I appreciated the simplicity of the interior design, which created a relaxed atmosphere.

For our meals, my girlfriend ordered the eggs royale and I got for the fried chicken sandwich with spicy hand-cut fries. She found her eggs royale to be decent and found the potatoes to be bland. My fried chicken sandwich was enjoyable, but I encountered some undercooked parts of the chicken which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the box in which the sandwich was served was a bit small, making it challenging to eat without making a mess. The spicy hand-cut fries, while tasty, leaned more towards a sweet flavor profile rather than the expected spicy, and they could have been crispier for my liking.

In conclusion, The KOVA offered a decent brunch experience with some room for improvement. While the food was enjoyable overall, there were some minor issues. If you're looking to explore new brunch spots in Staten Island, The KOVA is worth a visit for a unique dining experience.

      1 check-in

We visited Kova right when it opened on a Saturday morning and were allowed to seat ourselves! The interior was small and a bit dim but had a nice ambiance. We were asked several times if we wanted any drinks besides water which seemed slightly persistent, but I do understand that they pride themselves on their beverages and coffees with latte art.

We ordered the fried chicken sandwich with spicy fries and the egg royale. The eggs benedict was solid, with a neat pile of smoked salmon, a perfectly poached egg, and the classic hollandaise sauce. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes which I found to be a bit bland and lacking. My boyfriend had the fried chicken sandwich and he said the chicken was nicely seasoned and not dry. However, he did note that some parts of the chicken tasted and felt undercooked. He also wished the spicy fries were spicier, but overall it was a decent meal.

I enjoyed my time at The Kova, but the menu is limited and the food is average. I would recommend trying it at least once for the ambiance and to check it off your brunches in Staten Island list!

This was a cute little place for brunch. The food was so pretty and colorful but the taste of it was disappointing. I ordered an Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon but everything from the sauce to the potatoes were bland. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be coming back.

This place is small but cozy, like a little cafe. There is a QR code where you can scan for the menu on each table. Once we sat down, the waitress came to us and gave us some water and asked if we wanted to start with drinks. We got matcha latte and English breakfast tea. Matcha latte was good and not too sweet. We ordered Belgium waffle with fruits and Nutella on the side. Waffle had a nice chewy texture. I ordered a cheeseburger that came with fries and it was delicious. Food came out pretty quickly, Service was great as well, our waitress was very attentive! Will definitely be back. Only downside is small parking lot shared by other businesses.

The food was made to order- you can see it being cooked and smell the freshness from the griddle. The food had high quality ingredients and I could tell they take pride in preparing plates.

The ambiance was cozy, modern, and clean. The space is small, but it's no different than an established space you could find in Manhattan or Brooklyn. It's not ideal for a baby stroller but I feel like their staff would accommodate as best as they could. We have a toddler and they were able to give us an extra chair for 3 on a side of their high top.

The place had a lot of orders and was VERY Busy!!!
We ordered the crème brûlée latte, the macchiato, chocolate chip pancakes, onion and mushroom omelette, the royal Benedict, the lavender lemonade and the hibiscus lemonade. All 5/5 stars!!!!

Loveeeee this place for brunch! Cozy little spot. Small dining area so best to go with a small group but we didn't have to wait for a table for a party of 2. Good food and nice drinks. I have also ordered delivery from them and the food holds up well.

      My go to's:
Beef roti 5/5 - yummy! comes with a green sauce
Cheeseburger 5/5 - it reminded me of a shake shack burger but better. melt in your mouth type of bite.
Chicken sandwich 4.5/5 - crispy and well flavored
Lavender latte 5/5 - cute latte art
Spicy fries 4/5 - always yes to seasoning. Good portion of fries given with your entree.

In the best way to put it, I love everything about The KOVA.

The food-- excellent. The eggparagus and the eggs Benedict were delicious, creamy dishes with perfect crunch from our choice of added cheddar!
The drinks-- I have an internal battle to not finish my own and my boyfriend's immediately.
      The service-- sweet and attentive.
The ambiance-- all of the decor is so cutely curated! It's not loud, the small seating area feels like a well-thought out cafe, and the open-view kitchen is very aesthetically pleasing.

      I recommend. :)

I have went twice. I would highly recommend the waffle with Nutella and sweet potato fries. Both times had to wait for a seat very limited seating and it does take a little while to get drinks and food. Definitely have to be patient but super worth it. I will be back.

Came on a rainy Saturday afternoon, not too busy. The food came out pretty quickly. We got a chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo instead of wasabi mayo, spicy fries, and a bacon, egg, and cheese. The order of fries is a pretty big basket of fries. There's ketchup and condiments on your table. We also got a milk tea and latte. Both drinks were pretty big cups. The chicken in the sandwich was a very large piece and very juicy. The fries were seasoned well and had a kick to them, also some subtle notes of sweet flavor from the seasoning blend in the fries. The eggs were runny in the bacon egg and cheese.

Food looked and tasted exactly like parlay in Brooklyn, I tried to ask if there was any relation but the server wasn't too familiar. Definitely a good place for a quick bite in Staten Island, will definitely be back if I'm in the area.
