If all you do is have the soup, you will be well fed! I love The Clam. It was one of my sister's favorite restaurants and she and her devoted husband used to visit here weekly. When in the village, I come here to honor her memory and devour the clam soup. It's remarkably flavorful with tons of clams along with potato and a yummy oil - don't know what it is but I swirl it in with my spoon and it enhances the flavor. The gentleman that waited on us was truly kind and although we had a bit of a wait(end of lunch rush), once he was able, he was attentive and brought the wines quickly, then followed up with piping hot clam chowder. We sat on the enclosed porch in the front of the restaurant as it was quiet and we had heaters to ward off the chill. Until next time..

This review is solely for the service rendered, or lack of ! I came to the clam as a solo party. Nowadays it's not uncommon for people to solo dine, so I'm not sure what happened here. Anyways ! Let me start with the positive. The food is delish, I was here for happy hour turned dinner menu which is exactly what I wanted. I started out with a dozen oysters and 3 shrimp yakitori. U can curate how you'd like to order which is a plus. I ordered the cucumber cooler which was refreshing (& I hate cucumber), to start & then as happy hour progressed I order there white wine & then proceeded to the dinner menu
Here's my gripe: again party of one, my waiter did not attend to me. It took him 3 reminders to remember my straw (which contributed to the watering down of a drink) he did not check on me not once. I ended up flagging down his co worker whom I explained that his partner forgot about "baby in the corner". Thankfully, he so kindly stepped in. Although he had his own tables I do appreciate him filling in as he did.
Dinner menu: I ordered the clam dip & the lobster & clam sliders, of course more wine & a to go order for the parentals.
I packed up the sliders becuz at this point I was very full but again bare minimum of checking in on me.
The food I consumed there was delish. The happy hour is solid and then if you get there at the right time it will roll into dinner which has more options. I will be back but I'm sure if the same thing happens again I'll def voice my concerns to management because at that point someone should know.
Did I enjoy yes
Will I be back sure

David, Julio, and staff worked seamlessly to ensure a terrific and delicious dining experience our first night back to the Big Apple. Highly recommend!

Hi ladies, Susan here! I was a bit optimistic because I've never had spaghetti and clam sauce other than at Pesce Pasta which is the best by the way located on Bleecker street. I was so surprised to have the spaghetti and clam sauce here but boy was it amazing! The clams were super fresh and tasty. My husband had the salad and it was phenomenal and very healthy! I totally recommend to fellow New Yorkers or anyone on a scout for lunch in the city. So long ladies its time for happy hour - Susan

I pass by this location all the time so decided to give them a try. The food was pretty good. We had the oysters - east v west. The oysters were good but wish they had Kumamoto.
We thought that the skirt steak was a tad over cooked. We ordered a side of French fries which we thought were overpriced on top of being soggy - they tasted like they were just tossed with old bay (fries were $9). I had the scallops which were good but nothing special.
We tried all 3 sparkling wines and all were good. Usually I prefer Brut but wasn't a fan of theirs, we agreed the prosecco was the best of the 3.
We chose to eat outdoors with the weather being nice which was also a good idea because indoors seemed very cramped.
Inside they only have 2 bathrooms but they're well maintained.
They lacked attentiveness when it came to things such as water, checking on the food, and the check but overall I would come back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 9, 2023
A few of my family members and I decided on the clam since it was close to my job. We are all big seafood fans so we were excited for this spot. Overall, I think the food was pretty good. The oysters were one of the best things on the menu in my opinion. I take one star away because the service is incredibly slow and inattentive. For dessert, I ordered an espresso martini that never arrived, which I was disappointed about, but we were sitting for 2 hours already so I did not want to order another one.

Hello Emilia, thank you for the detailed feedback that I will share with the staff, I guess we have some work to do on service.
Hopefully, you will try us again on your next visit and notice the difference. - Chunjai K.Brooklyn, NY2290115011351Oct 10, 2023
Sunday lunch was great, host was very welcoming and bartender was very friendly. I wasn't hungry but only wanted some snack, so I had Six littleneck Clams, Faroe Island Salmon Tartare and a glass of house white wine. I enjoyed vibe and restaurant ambiance. I enjoyed so much, food was good and I definitely will recommend to my friends.

Cute restaurant, lots of seating, terrific menu, and great service. The menu is all fish and seafood and everything we tasted was delicious. We ordered codfish, pasta with clams, salmon, lobster sliders, oysters, Parker house rolls , and clam dip, and all we enjoyed. The reasons for the four stars and not the five, service was actually too quickly paced and menu is a little pricy. And I sometimes think it's just my family that maybe eats too quickly, but there were two other tables around us who started and ended with us. If I'm dining out I prefer service to be a little slower so I feel as if it's an experience and not something to get through.

No fried clams!
We came here for fried clams. It was happy hour and they were on the menu. Happy hour begins at 3pm. We arrived T 3:15 and they were sold out. I'm not sure how The Clam doesn't have clams. We tried to order from dinner menu, but nope. So we ordered from hh menu. It was sort of comical. Nori popcorn. No Nori. Veggie dish, maybe should have ordered 6. I know hh is for drinks, but we really wanted clams! Btw, my cucumber drink was good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
