Had a great dinner here, I sat upstairs over the bar and it was a quiet intimate atmosphere with a fireplace.
The food was delicious. I loved the roasted garlic and baguette that was a must! The sauce on their chicken special was delicious.

We went to lunch on a Friday, and they were extremely busy, they were only seating in the bar area, as they didn't have a server for upstairs, so we had to a few minutes for a table. It was a quaint little bar area, where we were seated. The server was pleasant and attentive.
We started with soup, both the onion soup and New England clam chowder were very tasty. The bowls were bigger than a cup but smaller than a typical soup bowl, but were the perfect size, but a little overpriced, at $10 a bowl.
The lobster roll was served on a toasted brioche roll, with butter on the side, so you can determine the amount of butter you want on your lobster roll.
The fish and chips were ok, the batter on the fish was on the greasy side and tasted like old oil, but the fish was nice and flaky and the tarter sauce that was served on the side was flavorful and zesty. In honesty I wished I had chosen the lobster roll as that appeared to have been the better choice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 27, 2023
This was such a treat! I wanted to make sure I got to really get a taste of what East Coast food was like while I was in Mystic for the weekend and stumbled across this.
We were able to just walk in on Friday night without reservations. We walked over from our Airbnb and struggled a bit to find the entrance.
Bread basket with butter and garlic- Not going to lie, seeing the whole head of garlic as a pairing for the bread was what got me to choose here rather than the other places. I loved mashing the butter onto the bread.
Lobster Roll (Cold)- I'm not the biggest fan of lobster but I felt like I needed to get this since I was coastal. I upgraded my fries to truffle fries. I ended up getting the cold version made with mayo instead of the hot with butter. I loved this! The portion of lobster was very generous.
Clam Chowder- This was so good that we ended up ordering a second!
Service was great and I would recommend to anybody in the area!!!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2023
Since I enjoy stepping back in time to enjoy a nice cocktail...we had to stop in to the CDP Inne! We chose to sit at the bar & ordered some ninigritti oysters & some French onion soup along with a Packer Manhattan. The cocktail was carefully prepared with Woodford reserve (by request) and a touch of luxardo cherry syrup by our funny & charming bartender (I apologize for not recalling her name) & was delivered in a coup glass. Shaken & icy cold with a nearly black Luxardo cherry. Absolutely delicious. The oysters & soup arrived shortly afterwards & were excellent.
The surroundings & energy of the 200+ year old tavern ooze from the the brick interior. A memorable experience that I'd recommend for those who appreciate the spirits with spirits!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 24, 2023
The bar/lounger is what makes this place fantastic! We were lucky enough to score a table on both nights that we came. If you come on Friday and Saturday this is live music. The place is extremely popular and packed!! The food is very good, the service is fantastic and live music is just the icing on the cake. The fish and chips was good. We would certainly come back if we were ever in Mystic again.

Second time visiting. First time we were in the upstairs dining room. Was just lovely but this time we decided to head downstairs for the pub vibe in the basement and boy were we happy. Perfect for a snowy wintry quiet afternoon. The food is tremendous and the bartender was chatty but not invasive. Michelle was an excellent mixologist and we had a great time chatting with her. We are locals so we know winter is the best time to visit mystic. I had the hot lobster roll with that glorious sherry butter and my husband had a Reuben. We tried a seasonal cinnamon cocktail and a few other drinks. Overall just a perfect afternoon. Definitely will be back!

My husband and I decided to visit a new place in Mystic. First of all the ambience in this restaurant is quaint. I can just imagine all the stories that house could tell dinner was delicious and our service was just as good. I had the salmon and it was perfectly done, I requested a cosmopolitan Light on the cranberry and it was made just as I asked (something I don't always get when I order).
After dinner, we went downstairs to the bar. I thought I was back in my childhood home as it was stonewalls. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. We thought we would stay for one drink, but the music started to play and we met people from town. service was excellent . Looking forward to going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 10, 2024Previous reviewWe came here for my husband's birthday. The historic ambiance makes this a must go to restaurant when in Mystic. The food was great quality and portions--not pictured was our prime rib meals that were delicious. Our waiter made great wine selection for us, which led to an overall great evening.

Feel like stepping back into time over 200 years? This is the place. This building was constructed in 1756. I've visited the pub a number of times., however due to its popularity with tourists and locals (more locals this time of year) you might not get a table or a seat at the bar. I was in for a pleasant surprise the other night. We went into the pub for a bite to eat and it was too crowded so I decided to go upstairs into the main dining area upstairs. I was always hesitant to do that because I thought they only served more expensive entree selections. When we walked in and looked at the menu I actually felt guilty that I've been missing the opportunity to eat there and not give them the business.
From what I could tell the menu included the pub items and a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, burgers and wonderful entrees to choose from. Adding to that is the VERY COOL 1700's environment. The fireplace was going and the feel of being in that time period was fun and cozy.
We were brought rolls and a delicious baked garlic bulb. Good start. I had the clam chowder (always thick, creamy and a good amount of clams). My friend had the onion soup and mentioned it was one of the best he'd ever had.
I had the Tenderloin Schnitzel Sandwich, lightly fried with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and pirate sauce on a potato bun with DPI fries-so good.
My friend had the Flintlock Burger that had sliced red onion, cheddar, lettuce, pirate sauce, potato roll, DPI fries. It was cooked the way he wanted and delicious.
We now love the upstairs so much we will head there first!
PS. Friendly staff too....Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 214341947Feb 12, 2023
Come here for the clam chowder. It is delicious and flavorful. But do not come here for the lobster roll as I could barely stomach mine due to the very strong sherry flavor it is cooked in and served with. I was given warm butter to help but it didn't help. I ate it because it's a $28 (I think) sandwich but wow I've never not enjoyed a lobster roll before and I was so looking forward to a CT style lobster roll.
My husband and daughter enjoyed the fish and chips and we shared 2 cups of chowder. In the future I would stick to the chowder. The beer selection seemed good and local but mostly IPAs. Cool place with friendly service. Lots stars for the lobster roll being so dissatisfyingHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2
