My friends and I just went to Tartina for dessert and it was very close to closing time but they were still very accommodating and managed to seat us. We had the pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu. Both items were delicious but I would definitely say that the tiramisu stood out- I mean, it is a classic. The ambience of this place is really nice as well, love the fresh flowers. All in all, the service here was great and so was the dessert- will definitely have to come back for their food (that cacio e pepe looked amazing)!

Tartina is always a solid choice. Simple menu with rotating specials, pretty and yummy and interesting. Never a bore. Service is always pleasant and professional. A no frills place--just good food and service in a nice quiet and nicely appointed space. To qualify: I've only been for lunch.

Both were delectable. The soup was a watermelon gazpacho - fresh and crisp and mellow, mildly sweet with a hint of garlic. I devoured it to the last drop (as did my colleague, who ordered it as well). It was garnished with two perfect balls of watermelon flesh on a skewer.
The salad is a spinach salad with pear, pomegranate and walnuts and shaved grana padana in a raspberry dressing (copied and pasted from the menu). Also fresh and crisp and mellow, like the gazpacho. My palate felt smooth and soothed after this wonderful meal.
I asked for sparkling water (when given the choice between that and tap) and admit to being a bit surprised when the server brought over a large glass bottle of Perrier. Since I typically drink only enough water to wash down my meal, I left more than half of the Perrier on the table and that felt wasteful. Had I known that it would come bottled, I would have chosen tap water. But this is minor. Very minor.
Both our server and the bartender who assisted were great (sorry I didn't get your names, guys). Very helpful and pleasant and professional.
I highly recommend Tartina. - D S.New York, NY528206Apr 18, 2024
Food is good & prices are beyond reasonable. Some food could use a bit more salt but overall great job

Thoughtful, friendly service. Very reasonably priced for decent portions. Modern chic ambiance.
Food was fairly good. Highly recommend the (cold) watermelon soup. The eggplant parmigiana with pasta was very good; the kitchen knows good marinara. The gnocchi on the other hand was overcooked, subpar for NYC pasta, though the sautéed veggies added to its sauce made up for it.
Strong dessert options. The fragola was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 18738116Apr 8, 2023
I came here for dinner with my family before heading downtown to see Billy Joel play at Madison Square Garden. We thought dining at an Italian restaurant before the show was playfully appropriate.
It was also the right decision. The staff is friendly, the ambience is warm and inviting, and the food is tasty. I had the pappardelle bolognese -- flavorful and filling. You should instead (as my sister did) opt for the cacio e pepe. They prepare it tableside, swirling the pasta in a cheese bowl of pecorino romano. It is creamy, it is delectable, and it is almost too rich to eat. Almost.
Pairing our dinner with a bottle of white and a bottle of red, Tartina set the scene for a great night out and lots of fond memories made. I would certainly dine here again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Denise F.New York, NY6130284Oct 1, 2023
A group of 7 of Us had dinner reservations for 7pm on a Saturday evening! We arrived a little early & we sat by the bar for a cocktail ( which was delicious). The FOOD was beyond Delicious.... WoW everything was seasoned well & we all enjoyed our meals. Our cocktails were also great! We will definitely be back. Our bartender: server ( I think he's one of the mangers Josue was very nice & attentive! We will definitely be back to dine here.

A lovely friendly restaurant. Very prettily decorated. We were there New Year's Eve and the restaurant was packed with people headed to the concert for peace directly across the street at St. John Divine. The restaurant was crowded, we didm't have a reservation but they tucked us in which was nice of them and got everyone out in time. Food was quite delicious. They hit you $15 for glass of house wine, but I guess that huge mark up pays the bills! I recommend the place for those who live on the upper west side.

Grabbed a late lunch (2pm) here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Live jazz music playing, not overcrowded (nor empty), beautiful rustic yet modern decor really added to the experience of eating at Tartina. We were served quickly and were given bread and olive oil while waiting for our food. I didn't like the bread, it didn't taste fresh or like there was any texture, but that's fine I didn't pay for it or anything. We ended up splitting the dishes to cheat our way in getting our fix of Eggs Benedict and pasta (Carbonara).
The Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was delicious and the english muffin stayed crispy. The hollandaise was a bit liberal and didn't give a lasting impression. The potatoes with peppers and salad were lovely sides to the eggs. Carbonara was recommended by the server for pasta, get it with cream! It was pretty good -- creamy, tasty, and a good amount of pancetta throughout. Overall, it was good food.
There was one peculiar part of our lunch. A woman appeared to be in a domestic abusive relationship with the man accompanying her, and he raised his voice multiple times within 30-45 minutes. There were instances where he was borderline yelling at her and everybody else got silent. It was uncomfortable and clearly the man was trying to control the woman saying "if you don't stop this behavior, I'm going to slap you." I was a bit shocked that the manager of the restaurant didn't ask them to leave or act civil. It definitely interrupted everyone's dining experiences, and I hope the woman is okay.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicholas F.Upper East Side, New York, NY031Dec 24, 2023
Christmas Eve- the server told us there were no menus and proceeded to give other tables menus.
Played dance music at Christmas Eve dinner.
Cleared the table while people were still eating.
The food was good- the service lacks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
