Pad Thai is the best in Memphis by far!!! No joke I've been searching for "good" pad Thai for YEARS. I've had a lot of failures. Bangkok Alley was the only option but now that they've closed I decided to try Takashi. I already knew the sushi was really good so decided to give their Thai cuisine a try. I am so pleasantly surprised and it's even better than BA in my opinion.

We're in town visiting and my son wanted sushi. This appeared to be one of the highest rated so we gave it a try. The moment we were greeted by our server set the tone for the entire evening. She was absolutely charming and very attentive to our needs. We ordered harumaki and gyōza for appetizers and they came out quickly and prepared absolutely perfectly. The harumaki wrappers were light and crispy and the gyōza were beautifully fried as well.
Between the three of us we ordered five different sushi rolls. The Yum Yum roll and Crazy Crab rolls were stand out favorites, and my classic spicy salmon roll was delicious as well.
After we finished our server gave us a couple of suggestions of family friendly activities for the next day as well. We have family who live nearby and friends who visit regularly for medical appointments, so we will be recommending Takashi Bistro to all of them.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erica L.Charlotte, NC26662Dec 1, 2023
We love Takashi. Sonny's Fried Rice (add chicken and extra shrimp), Hibachi Chicken and the Yellow Curry with Shrimp AND chicken are on heavy rotation with us. We could eat there everyday...but it is a little pricey for a family of 5 to eat there multiple times per week. We have never actually dined in, always takeout, because well... the kids and because we limit our son to outings that require him to be in close quarters to others due to him being a St. Jude patient.
Any restaurant that consistently prepares takeout correctly and with great quality always ranks high in my book. I highly recommend Takashi and as I'm typing this, it's making me want to place an order.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 1, 2023
We had delivery from here. My partner liked it more than I did. I was actually pretty disappointed in some of their dishes, especially considering the cost...
Don't get me wrong. It's not bad. Actually we really enjoyed the udon stir-fry and the fried rice. But honestly anyone can make those dishes. And the happy feelings were offset by a chicken teriyaki dish that used chicken breast and was so overcooked it was almost inedible.
Overall, not sure we would order from here again...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2024
I'm visiting Memphis for work and I stopped in here because it was close to where I had a meeting. I ordered white tuna and yellowtail sashimi and the vegetable drunken noodles. I didn't have to wait long for my sashimi to arrive, and the noodles came out just as I finished my appetizer. The fish tasted fresh, and the noodles were fantastic. I didn't think I was that hungry but I finished every last bite because it was so good. My server was very friendly and he had the best smile. My meal plus a 22% tip was a very reasonable $33.

It was average. Not bad but not great. We had it delivered to the hospital. I'm sure it better hot in the restaurant.

This was my first time eating there and there was no disappointment! Service was excellent I have no clue what her name was but my server was very knowledgeable and even gave me great suggestions. The food was great as well, everything was so hot I burned my mouth. Definitely worth stopping by. Perfect ambience and I noticed all of the employees were happy to be there which is a basis for great service. Definitely will come back!!!

I haven't been here in a year, got the yellow curry.
Was not as flavorful as I remembered and made my stomach feel terrible a few hours after eating.
Not sure if the rice was old or the curry was not handled properly but the taste and my stomach/body's reaction to eating the food was off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 21, 2022Previous reviewThe green curry is amazing.
The stir fry is so flavorful.
A great place to eat in and take out! - Samantha C.Raleigh, Memphis, TN03May 10, 2024
I've come there before! It was great experience! Miso soup was perfect! Lemon drops were great! (I believe it was happy hour when I went lol) and customer service was more than good! Very attentive. But yesterday I decided to order from here with my cousin, she orders from here quite often so why not right? I ordered a shrimp tempura lunch bento box, mochi, and some shrimp yakisoba. My order came out to be about $42 in total. So i was kinda expecting a lot of interesting items to try! When it arrived I was thrilled to see what all had came considering I had never orders these items before. It was like a mountain of styrofoam in the bag. But what threw me off was that it was light. All of it was light. There were only three mochi in my box that equaled up to almost 6 dollars, the shrimp tempura bento box is what disappointed me the most. It came with a "house salad" but it ended up being a bowl of a handful of JUST lettuce with some ginger dressing, the miso soup I asked for was half full AND lukewarm, the shrimp yakisoba was great tho..I tried to call yesterday to kind of be discreet about letting them know about what happened but about 15 missed phone calls later, I gave up and just threw away what I didn't eat because it either wasn't enough of what I ordered to begin with or wasn't worth what I paid for. I was defeated and I don't think I'll be ordering from here at this particular location for a while..
