Got take out and was impressed with the packaging. They provided plenty of sauce, wasabi, and ginger. The baked scallop roll wasn't good, it seemed like they over baked the scallops. All other rolls were really delicious and fresh!

Wanted to try a new sushi spot and glad we gave Sushi 101 a shot! Lots of food came in the chicken teriyaki bento box (egg rolls weren't the greatest but generous to add 2). Would order from here again.
All the rolls we tried were good too:
-cucumber roll
-dynamite roll (very filling!)
-aloha roll
-lemon flush rollHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - M. T.Los Angeles, CA03521Dec 31, 2023
Such a fabulous restaurant whether eating there or getting a delivery! I did my end of 2023 and football feast by ordering all of my favorite items from Sushi 101. Delicious and fresh food that I highly recommended! I have been frequenting this establishment for many many years and it's always great!! Happy New Year 2024!!

My work had this on foodja and my previous work also did. Their fish is not fresh and tastes like nothing. The salmon teriyaki and poke and rolls are not good. Portions are okay but that doesn't matter if I don't like it.

Sushi 101 is a small, cute Japanese spot off Robertson and Olympic. Being on Robertson Blvd, may be hard to find parking, but there is a plaza nearby to park or meter street parking. The interior is very aesthetic, channeling outdoor seating Japanese food spots. The service was only this one lady who was very friendly.
I ordered the Unagi Roll and Chicken Katsu Bowl
The unagi bowl was standard in a good way. Slightly pricier than what I'm used to. Unagi sauce was tasty, slightly more liquid than I prefer.
The chicken katsu bowl is where I felt displeased the most. Coming with chicken katsu, rice, and salad, the bowl felt fairly cheap. The salad had no dressing, the rice did not feel fresh, and the chicken katsu was the thinnest cutlet I've ever eaten (picture attached).
The only difference between the bowl and the plate besides the $2 extra is the 2 california rolls they give, which is definitely not worth.
Overall, 3.5/10. Very disappointed with quality of such a staple dish.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Rose N.Salisbury, MD2103Dec 13, 2023

This sushi restaurant is truly a hidden gem (and I hope more people learn of it!). The salmon skin roll is so good! I highly recommend regularly dining here or ordering takeout.

HAIR INSIDE OF THE SUSHI FLIES ALL OVER
Terrible. that's all i have to say. went with a friend and there was another group of people. the server took probably 20 minutes just to take our order and focused more on the other group. We ordered 3 rolls. the first roll that came was wrong, we told the server and she hesitated and said that it was from the chef. After she brought our food it wasn't terrible, but for the price it should've been better. my friend was sick after eating this sushi.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tricia F.Los Angeles, CA483146Apr 5, 2023Updated review
Favorite sushi spot for delicious fresh sushi and delicious appetizers. Been here quite a few times and still haven't had half the menu (largely because we love our staples but also they have a big menu). Great service, usually quiet and cozy atmosphere. A gem.

We have been craving sushi for such a long time but given my apprehension during pregnancy, I kind of lost my taste for it. Then it came back and we found this spot. This place called when something wasn't available and replaced it with another outstanding roll. Really great quality and delicious, good portions, good prices. We want to try so much more already. Can't wait to order again. Thank you Sushi 101!
