No elevator. Disgusting room. Smells like smoke in the non-smoking area. The worst!
It seems like they only made the bed and then called it a day.
They didn't change the bedding. There was hair and lipstick on the pillow.
There were cans of Pepsi and Arizona.
There were hair on the bathroom floor and used toiletries left behind. The towel was dirty, you can see marks that it was used. I feel so gross just being in the room. Of all my travels, I've never felt this disgusted staying in a room and I've stayed at some shady ass places due to budget traveling.
Please, save your money and go somewhere else instead!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jody L.Sherwood Park, Canada4112Sep 5, 2019Updated review
Where do I begin? I wanted to give this hotel one star, but I realized that there are probably worse places out there so I went with two. I booked this hotel through Hotels.ca for a 4 night stay with my family. It was a cheaper alternative to staying in Jasper and appeared to have all that we wanted (pool for the kids, breakfast). After check-in we loaded up a luggage rack with our bags, cooler and a storage crate with a few extra supplies. As I left the front desk and started looking for the elevator, I was informed they don't have an elevator. Okay, strike one- what kind of hotel does not have an elevator? So we take multiple trips up the stairs to our room. The room was quite small and cramped for 4 people. We can deal with it.
The kids wanted to go to the pool right away so we agreed. We went down to the pool to find two folding campfire chairs (the ones that slip into bags) and a chair that was about 6 inches from the floor. Incredibly uncomfortable to sit in while kids swim. How hard would it be to put out a few plastic patio chairs for people? Talk about cheap. The pool and hot tub were okay, but there were never any pool towels stocked. I had to ask at the desk.
Next, the breakfast left a lot to be desired. Nothing hot was available unless you count reheated pre-made waffles. Oh and toast. The only protein even available was cold hard boiled eggs and yogurt. The breakfast area was tiny with far too many tables crammed into it. Breakfast was not an enjoyable experience at all. Big thumbs down here.
Lastly, overall lack of cleanliness. In the 4 nights we stayed, our room was tended to once by housekeeping. Our box of Kleenex sat empty for two days and never got replaced. Even when we specifically asked for more towels we were given only one. The walls were dirty, the carpet had stains and our ice bucket lid had a layer of dust on it. We had the room fan turned on one day when we left because it was quite warm out and when we came back it had been turned off (the one time they serviced our room) so the room was hot.
Definitely not impressed with this "super" hotel. More like Mediocre8. Will not be back that is for sure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 10, 2019Previous reviewWhere do I begin? Looks new on outside. Friendly staff, however the rooms are dated and we're not cleaned along baseboards or behind the furniture. Bath stopper was moldy. Chair in room stained. Hot tub was cleaned but still had a ring around it. Pool towels were non-existent. Breakfast was just ok. Not as good as other Super 8. Coffee in lobby was instant not brewed.

While I was unpacking my car, a drunk guest threw a bottle of beer at me, dousing my clothes and suitcases. A combination of beer and dirt got in my eye and greatly irritated it. When I reported the incident to the man working at the front desk, he tried to force me to go to the guest's room and initiated a large confrontation in the lobby where the drunk guest threatened my husband and I's life. The man at the front desk then gave the drunk man our room number, causing us to feel very unsafe for the entire night and ruining our trip. We had to notify the local police. I have never been treated like this by hotel staff before, and am disgusted with how things were handled.

DIRTY. The tables at the breakfast area when we walked in were disgusting. The pool area had gum and bandaids on the floor. The room had splatters on the wall and door. The chairs were disgusting and covered in animal hair. Candy in the a/c unit. Cigarette burns on the blankets in a non smoking room. Never again.

Well first of all, the rate we got was $20 higher than advertised online and the front desk lady was not very pleasant.
The rooms overpowered us in smell, not a bad one but it was extremely strong - like somebody just drowned it in air freshener or something. The beds were not comfy, the room was too cold or too hot if you turned on the heating and the blankets were pathetic. I woke up multiple times being too cold and my hip in pain.
There are much better hotels and motels in the area for the same/lesser price and I've learned my lesson. WILL NOT COME BACKHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tiffany N.Las Vegas, NV522309205Jul 2, 2012
Super 8 was the only motel in the Jasper area, that had 2 rooms available on such short notice for Canada Day Long Weekend. The wi-fi was painfully slow, and the beds had no fitted sheets; just a blanket over top the mattress. But the mattress was clean (and bed-bug free!) and the hot tub was soothing after a long drive up.
The complimentary breakfast includes an assortment of bagels, toast, cereals, milk (no dairy alternatives), spreads, semi-decent coffee and juices. Very friendly front staff too! Would definitely come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul B.Edmonton, Canada450May 9, 2012First to Review
Nice hotel. Decor in rooms a little dated but very comfortable. Really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Best continental breakfast I've had. Would definately stay again!
