So so so sweet folks in here - coffee and food was delicious. Very much a diner type vibe, loved sitting at the bar.

I always get coffee or OJ and the Filipino Breakfast. It never disappoints. The service is amazing, quick and attentive. My coffee is always full and if I need something they are walking by often so it is easy to ask. I love the ambiance in the restaurant too. It feels local, small town, and welcoming which is hard to find in the 7 cities. They are genuine and kind people too.

If you want to order like a pro: get the Filipino breakfast with over easy eggs and the sweet sausage. Bon Apetite *chefs kiss*

I stopped by Sunrise Breakfast Shop, located on Battlefield Boulevard just before the Great Bridge Locks, recently to grab some breakfast, and I am very pleased with both the food and the service that I received.

There's nothing fancy about this place but don't let that stop you from giving them a try. They serve good food with a smile for reasonable prices. What more could you ask for in a restaurant?

What a delicious, interesting restaurant find! I definitely already want to eat here again! I love the pancakes. I definitely enjoyed that they were light, fluffy, and not greasy! I had some bites of my husband food and they made their grits just like I like to have them at home! Husband really enjoyed his meal. A small touch that I loved is their bendy straw! Who doesn't love a bendy straw! Service was nice and the restaurant had a cozy feel to it! Will return!

Food served quick. Filipino breakfast was delicious and the pork crispy but not burned. Blueberry pancakes nice and fluffy.

Food was great!! Staff were fantastic! Inside seating is very limited--perfect for carry-out but not great for dine in. Would definitely go back but plan on waiting for seating or eating off-premises.

Nice little spot in Chesapeake near me. I brought my mom here on her visit and the service was super friendly and quick. Their menu is extensive and there are quite a lot of options to choose from, which is nice. The food is good but not "wow". Your standard diner food. I ordered the #5 special with a cappuccino. While the deal was good, the cappuccino was just ok. It tasted kind of fake, like the kind you get at the gas station (even though I saw an espresso machine behind the bar).

Would definitely return and try other items!

Felt like home even when this is my first time to dine at Sunrise. Wonder why I waited this long?? The place was packed, indicative of the great warm friendly service and the delicious breakfast food. I had my craving for longanisa (labeled sweet sausage on the menu) so that's what I ordered: Filipino breakfast with sweet sausage (note:tocino is equally delicious) , fried rice, toast and 2 eggs your way.
Can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff and I swear the ambience of hospitality is contagious, even the customers at the bar where I was seated were all friendly!
Veronica the owner is immersed in serving the customers - taking to go cells, making delicious lattes...everyone chipping in in a cadence with no words needed to coordinate without missing a beat. That's what you get for being in business for 29 years!
Definitely recommend, come one come all!

Breakfast was average. The corn beef hash was probably from a can. The orange juice was sour. The steak was thin, bland, and super chewy/tough to swallow. Tastes like the vegetables in the fried rice is frozen and the rice was mushy. My wife felt sick and nauseous later. I had an upset stomach and had to go to the bathroom a couple times. The service was good and I feel the prices are reasonable, but the quality of the food just isn't good.
