We made our own brewery tour of Roanoke and had to visit Starr Hill. They have about 15 beers on tap and will let you try them before you commit to your full poor. The bartenders were super kind and patient as we tried several beers. I went for the Sun Burn summer ale and it is the PERFECT beer for sitting by the pool or on the boat probably getting more sunburned than you should. It's light and crisp and easy to drink! I really loved it! It's all I drank all evening.
There's lots of tables and perfect for meeting friends or hanging out after work. They don't have food available l, but we were told it would be fine if we went next door grabbed Moe's and came back over.
Definitely add this to your beer tour of Roanoke!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 22, 2022
i was pleased to see 3 sours along with the rest of the offerings. Starr Hill always has some unique brews and I was pleased to be able to try them in draft form. Went there on a Thursday night, 6pm pretty dead. Could have been a 5 star but given how dead it was the Barmaid could have tried even a touch to be engaging, but clearly, she did not want to explain much. They probably should invest in a self-pour system.

Beer (1/5): We got the Roxanne (2/5), Violet (2/5), and X-Haalt (1/5). We didn't care for the tastes. They didn't taste like sours, more like regular beers.
Parking (5/5): Tons of parking because of Moe's and Starbucks.
Ambiance (3/5): It was very dead when we went. They are kid friendly. We sat outside in their patio, and it didn't give off brewery vibes. It was next to a Moe's and Starbucks so there was quite a bit of cars driving by.
Overall, their sours weren't really sours, and it wasn't a very unique brewery. BUT they had cute pint glasses and lots of merch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patrick B.Parkville, MD5167213May 13, 2022
I am glad I stopped in. The staff was friendly and the beer was delicious.
Stop by and see if you disagree. BTW try the Weiss beer and the Vienna Lager!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Armando A C.FL, FL038Sep 28, 2022
The Brewery I have been in my live. I come from Florida at 4 times a year to enjoy the beers and great service.

One of our favorite places to go. Friendly staff and decent music on the weekends. Live the different beer options available throughout the year.

Phenomenal beer here and the taproom is very cool. I wish Starr Hill was closer because the beer is fantastic. The Love is probably my favorite wheat beer ever so far. The Stone Rose is very interesting with the flavor of the lager and the hibiscus. I may or may not have tried almost all of the beers they had on tap on my one night here, and I certainly thought all of their beers were highly drinkable. They have a good availability of their beer on site and the brewtender was nice and helpful.
I would absolutely stop here again if I was in the area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 12, 2019
Two words: Raspberry Sour. Not that it's the best beer I've ever had, but it's the first one I've had in a while and it was fun and different. I'm not terribly familiar with the brewery culture in this area, but starting a graduate program, funnily enough, has helped me appreciate the joy of social drinking again. My first time here with my classmates was the most recent such outing, and I liked the casual atmosphere and the requisite semi-industrial decor.
Would I go back? Heck yeah. Get me a Guinness or ale and I'm there!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert M.Leavenworth, KS04018Nov 2, 2019Updated review
Maybe I'm an easy 5-star reviewer, but I look for a nice place to sit while I enjoy the beer, quality beverages and selection, and decent service. This place hit them all. You can bringin food and there is a burger place in the same location. Opted for a flight and enjoyed them all. Agree with another reviewer, the Love was my favorite.
Updated: 11/2/19. If you like the dark stuff, get a double chocolate stout with various fruit infusions. No lie, and I'm a little traditional, they were great. Snagged a 12-pack for later.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 25, 2019Previous reviewMaybe I'm an easy 5-star reviewer, but I look for a nice place to sit while I enjoy the beer, quality beverages and selection, and decent service.
