This will likely be the rare retail review I ever write due to career bias...
However, this Staples is local to my parents in which case I've frequented for random one off needs for likely 15 years in whims. Even amid all the challenges retail is currently facing, this location continues to feel consistent and uninterrupted with how they operate. Inventory, staffing levels, and team morale appear pretty unchanged, which is of course a big win.
With that covered, I want to talk specifically about the staff and the UPS/Print Center where the majority of my interaction takes place. The team is always super friendly and personable, appear to enjoy doing what they do, and are really helpful.
This particular visit was very difficult on an emotional level due to a family emergency. The team at the photo shop delivered in an exceptional manner doing everything they could to help me with a print need with an extremely short window of time to work with. They were empathetic, efficient, and exceeded expectations.

I mean is the staple broken?! I cane in for a BOPIS order and I was told I needed to bring my ID. I was gonna have someone else pick it up, but couldn't amend the pick up person in a last minute change of plans.
So here I am driving up there with ID in hand, do you think they verified who I was? No. So I could've done what I needed in the first place. Rude.
I rolled up in there and the cashier look bothered that I had an order no hi nothing. Okay cool. He shuffles over and picks out this box that must've fell off the Will E Coyote cliff. Then asks me what I ordered. I mean doesn't he have that info?
Then I sign the pad after it fails a few times. Then he hands me this disheveled box. No sir, I don't need that in my car. I ask him to bag it. I should've done it myself bc that took forever.

We simply love this Staples in Williamsburg, VA. Wonderful staff, always trying to please their customers.
We purchased an office chair for our law school son and decided to purchase a three-year warranty. As luck would have it, a few months later there was a tear across the seat of the chair. The store manager asked us to file a claim and we brought the chair in. A new chair was waiting for us. The staff offered to load the chair into our car.
Once again, we purchased the warranty never expecting another issue.
Today we noticed a tear on the right side arm rest. The manager Steve together with two workers sprang into action offering us to select between 2 chairs (one in black and one in brown) that were available immediately.
Again, the staff offered to bring the chair to our car and help us load it.
We are senior citizens and we purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise from Staples in other states over the decades.

AMAZING customer service. My laptop stopped charging through its C port, even after purchasing a new charger. I brought the laptop into the store and a tech plugged it in another jack and it started to charge. I purchased a 'universal charger' but it didn't fit my computer. The manager, Steve, was very helpful to return the universal charger. Then, since I needed the computer that same day, he actually gave me their store's charger that fit the second jack. He didn't charge me for it. My computer is still covered by the 2 year protection plan, so I will be contacting Assurion later to see about getting the C port fixed. Thanks so much, Staples, they saved the day!!

I had a very good experience with this Staples. I called ahead to see if I can have some birthday invitations printed out and they assured me I can come up there and have it done. When I got there on my lunch break around 11:30a the printing department was pretty busy but I didnt have to wait very long. When I spoke to the staff member I told them I had a front and back pdf on my phone and she told me the email address to send it to which I did. It popped up on their screen moments after and she was able to show me how it would come out on her screen. It looked great! I ordered 25 copies which came with envelopes as well and and I was told the order would be ready by 4pm. That worked out because I got off work at 5 and was able to swing back and pick them up. The prints came out better than I expected!

Some people like to watch the big game, others prefer philately or darts. Me, I write reviews about office supply shops.
As printer ink costs as much as unicorn blood, I have long since ditched my own HP Deskjet Paperweight and instead use the self-service printing center at Staples a couple times a month. This branch has three all-in-one printer/scanner machines, and one is usually frozen. I appreciate the humane printing prices ($0.12 per black-and-white sheet) and generally functional machinery on hand. The touchscreen interfaces are often spangled with dandruff so it's a good idea to wash your hands after using them. The place is pretty clean otherwise and I appreciate the adequate lighting.
I forgot my flash drive in one of those machines. A platoon of dudes swooped in and rummaged around the printing center while I waited. It was quite flattering. Then, dude #3 was most apologetic and said he couldn't find it. I gave him my name & number, and four days later the store called and explained how they had found it. I fired up my mauve Lamborghini, the one I drive on Thursdays, and hastened over to the shop where they had the errant flash drive in a lost-and-found drawer.
The dudes at the registers are enormously helpful and understanding, too. I enjoyed a fruitful exchange about an otherwise soul-demolishing subject, namely the purchase of a modem-router thing so I don't have to pay an usurious $9.99 per month to rent one from Cox. They explained the pros and cons of the model that the Cox cable guy recommended.

Walked into Staples' print center and inquired about the cost, time, layout, all that. I was amazed that the guy behind the counter quickly showed me a catalog of designs and elicited the info needed to show me a relevant, effective design. He then handed me a sheet to fill out, quoted me a (low) price, and told me they'd be done in 4 hours! They were, and they're fine. No mistakes or false promises, they did a great job!
