We stayed here for a cruise and the threat of snow potentially delaying us. The hotel has a difficult entrance, and is in a plaza with three other hotels. Watch carefully for the entrance, and follow the road signs with caution. It's an extra cost for parking, which is in a gated area behind the building. There is a back entrance to the lobby so you can park and then bring in your luggage, it's right by the elevators. Be cautious because the pool is in use, and the floor can be a little damp.
The lobby has a coffee station and lots of places to sit. There's also a small lobby shop with Pepsi drinks, sandwiches, chips, and other snacks. There is also delivery in the area, the hotel will supply menus. We went with North End Pizza that brought the food directly to the room. There's no restaurant in the hotel but there is one at another in the plaza.
The room itself had three sections. The first room had a couch, desk, and sink with microwave and mini fridge. The couch area was largely clean, but there were small pieces of trash left by the last resident. There is a bathroom area with sink outside the official bathroom, and bathroom with toilet and shower. The shower was hard to drain, but once you set a water temperature it stayed consistent. The toilet is very low to the ground, because everyone knows most travelers are in kindergarten. Finally, the bed area had two queen beds with an okay mattress. The sheets were clean. Lighting was adequate but a little dark. The TV placement was weird. It was across from the partial wall separating the bed area and couch area. You couldn't position the TV to fully show in one room or the other. Plus, the remote initially wouldn't work and someone had to come up and fix it.
In conclusion, it was basically clean with friendly employees and good delivery options. I wouldn't stay there long term because of getting in and out, but a night or two has everything you need.

I stayed at this hotel for a convention attended by about 100 people. I thought the hotel and staff handled the convention well, making excellent use of the available space and providing good service. I also appreciated that we got a convention room rate and parking discount, as I understand the regular room prices are not necessarily considered competitive.

While I enjoyed the convention and will certainly come back if they host again in future years, I'm not necessarily sure I would stay here otherwise. It is indeed convenient to the airport, and the breakfast is decent, but there were minuses as well.

My understanding is that this hotel is one of 4 in the immediate vicinity that were built around the same time, a combination of Marriott and Hilton hotels. I think whoever designed both the parking lots and navigation around these hotels should have taken more planning courses. It was almost impossible to navigate through the lots of the 4 hotels (this one was the last of the 4 from the entrance) without navigation going. That said, the hotel parking lot was fine and very convenient to the back entrance of the hotel, right next to the elevators.

The hotel does have a pool (which isn't skimmed often enough) and an exercise room with 3 elliptical machines and 2 treadmills.

Likewise, the layout of the rooms were not, in my opinion, designed with customer convenience in mind. For a modern hotel which has suite-rooms with a desktop work area, the number of outlets and USB ports was very insufficient. Some of the not-nearly-enough outlets were in very inconvenient locations as well. And that thermostat!!! I want to know who decided the best place to have a digital thermostat was BEHIND the wall-mounted TV?!?! The hallways are also a bit too narrow, it was almost impossible to push a luggage cart down the hall when the chamber maid cart was also in the hall.

This is not an awful hotel. But it does have many attributes that could have been a lot better.

Evidently the best place to put a thermostat is behind the wall mounted TV???

Airport hotels you gotta love them or hate them. I travel a lot and I look for efficient shuttle service, clean rooms and decent breakfast food. I don't mind paying extra for the food. Shuttle was a jam packed van which is an outsourced service. Not too pleasant. Check in fine and check out fast. No free bottled water. I like bottled water because the water is very chlorinated. Although advertised as a smoke free hotel, there was cigarette smoke in my hallway next to my room. Paper thin walls and you can hear your neighbors. The free breakfast buffet had mainly all ultra processed foods. I had some fruit and a bagel. The purpose of an airport hotel is to provide a needed comfortable break before flying out the next day. I will search for another hotel next time.

My mom, boyfriend and I checked into this hotel after a very long day. We were in two separate rooms, but may as well been in two separate hotels since our experiences were opposite.

First, this hotel was expensive. We had high expectations because of the price, and the Marriott name. Typically I'm a Hilton fan, but this hotel was better located for our needs. Upon check in, we enter the room and drop our stuff, quickly changing because we are wiped out. We go into the bathroom and notice there are no tissues; I notice there is a ring of water next to the bed (and no glass). My boyfriend comments how there are dried leaves on the counter, and that none of the drawers are closing right and the place is generally run down. At least the sheets were clean so we go to bed. I get up in the morning, put in my contacts and notice that in the bathroom there are tiny hairs around the faucet.

We meet my mom for breakfast and she is ecstatic about the hotel. We share our experience, how it's actually the complete opposite. She says she particularly loved how they left a Lysol wipe for her to wipe down surfaces. We didn't have one one of those... at this point I'm fairly certain our room wasn't cleaned.

Mom emailed the hotel about our issues and we got back an, "I'm sorry for your experience but we hope you try us again one day" email. No thank you.

This hotel is fairly near the Newark airport. We selected it based on that and the free shuttle service. The shuttle was completely packed. I got the last seat. The man next to me was sitting in two seats and really didn't want to move over! Bags barely fit in the vehicle. The hotel was basic, but offered a comfortable bed, plenty of towels and good water pressure. It is worn, but ok. It has a pool and some treadmills available. A limited breakfast is served. The room has a refrigerator and microwave.

Came here last min after an emergency situation with my housing. This hotel is very nice and organized but make sure not to miss the exit especially if you are new to New Jersey. The hotel is very clean and they offer Morning breakfast with a wide selection of foods. Room service is also on point and cleans perfectly. Only thing I would say I requested from the front desk several times assistance with noise from people and kids shouting in the hallway while I was on a business call and they didn't even send anyone to stop it.

DONT STAY THERE!! There is a hidden 22 dollar parking per day charge, and there were bugs in the elevator and a patch in the wall that was not painted in our room. I left a review detailing this fact and was repeatedly harassed by the hotel manager who insisted the charge is not hidden but when confronted with the fact that it is not an option thru a third party site, he continued to harass me by email repeatedly. Again, again, I asked not to contact me further, and he continued to contact me. I contacted the third-party site, who had to call him directly to get him to stop contacting me, he admittedto them that he was in the middle of contactingme againafter me asking him not to yet again. The General Manager Tim Peters obviously doesn't need to be in the people business and is emotionally not stable.

A bug I finally caught on camera

This was definitely one of my fave hotel experiences! The customer service was nice. Gloria at the front desk was really helpful and actually seemed interested in wanting to know why we were there! A lot of people were there for the kpop concert and they did very well with lodging us. The room was really nice. I bet there free breakfast was good also but I woke up to late the next day to try it. But it seemed like they had a lot of selections. All in all a great, chill and smooth experience! And very clean as well! And the location is close to city attractions and 7-8mins away from the prudential center where we saw the concert.

I was looking for one of the more reasonable hotels near the Newark (EWR) airport with decent ratings and connecting rooms (to my surprise many of the EWR airport hotels do not have connecting rooms). Needed to stay on two separate nights, one after we flew into Newark, and one the night before we flew out. After researching 17 hotels, I selected Springhill Suites.

Overall, it was a good selection Before my visit, the front desk was very accommodating in protecting a block of rooms that included two connecting rooms. Rooms and bed were comfortable, standard complementary breakfast was good. One of our rooms had its temp control behind the flat television screen, but TV mount allows screen to be readily pulled out to access control. Did not use the small pool or exercise room.

There was just one major hiccup that the hotel asst manager Brian Rafferty made a serious effort to compensate us for. The shuttle company (which the hotel contracts out their shuttle service to) used their smaller shuttle van instead of their larger shuttle bus on the night our flight arrived. Hence, the first shuttle we could take (at 10:45 pm) was filled before my party could get into it. Unfortunately, that van then broke down on the trip to the hotel, so there was no shuttle service for the next two pickup times (airport and hotel pickups are every 30 min; airport at 15 and 45 min past the hour; hotel at the hour and half hour). We ended up having to take the airtrain from the hotel shuttle pickup location back to the main terminal where we could catch a taxi to the hotel (which Rafferty reimbursed us for). All other hotel shuttle rides using the shuttle bus were uneventful. On one of them I met a United flight attendant who said she usually uses Springhill whenever her flights are based out of EWR airport. So I took that to mean that the hotel services including the shuttles were generally reliable.

One of the tests of a business is how they respond when problems occasionally arise, and Springhill's seriousness about making things right makes me happy to use them again in any future trips into EWR.
