      Beyond amazing experience!
We went with a group of 11 for our friend's B-day/vegas trip.
The restaurant itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but where it excels is the service, food, and drinks most importantly.

      Service 5/5
Our waitress, Olivia, was one of the best parts of the meal. She was cracking jokes, vibing, and honestly felt like one of our friends. She had great recommendations from drinks to food. She was quick, diligent, and overall just made it feel like despite the elevated food, it was approachable. There's nothing else to say about her except one of the best waitresses we've ever had.

      Drinks 5/5
All the drinks were amazing. They make all their ingredients to-order and in house I believe. They all had interesting flavors and great cohesion. Again, Olivia was able to recommend something for anyone no matter what the taste preference was. The presentation was also super cute which is important!

      Food 5/5
I mean there's too much to say. We all shared a bunch of smaller plates and all got our own entrees. They were all great, nothing was bad. I'd say standouts were the special honeycomb board, the sweet potatoes, the lamb, the octopus & the bread! You won't regret getting anything here.

In conclusion, this was a scary meal for some of my friends. We don't have the most elevated palettes and this menu can look intimidating. I'm telling you, don't be nervous. This restaurant will take care of you 100% and you will leave trying things you've never had, and loving them.

After some extensive research for a friend's birthday meal, I settled on Sparrow & Wolf. I wanted to be sure to stay away from the strip, and it was worth the short drive out! I made reservations and they were kind enough to seat us in a more cozy area of the restaurant for the birthday celebration.

We started with japanese milk bread with yuzu butter. The bread had a wonderful pillowy soft texture and the butter had a stronger yuzu flavor I was expecting (in the best way possible). Shortly after we had the oxtail hummus served with buttery naan. This is one of their more popular dishes and I immediately understood why after taking the first bite. The oxtail melts in your mouth along with the creamy hummus and crispy chickpeas that pair perfectly with fresh, warm naan.

For the main entrees, we got the pork secreto and kalbi rib cap. The pork secreto may not look impressive at first glance, but I was amazed by how much flavor there was! You can definitely taste the asian fusion in this dish. The kalbi rib cap was extremely tender and the lobster gratin had decent chunks of lobster in it.

We finished the meal with chocolate ganache torte with pistachio ice cream. We ended up waiting for a really long time and I think the order might have just gotten lost in the kitchen, but our waitress was so kind and provided the dessert on the house because of the wait. The cake was pretty rich, but not overwhelming and tasted great with the pistachio ice cream. Service was excellent and I felt like our waitress really knew the menu well. It's a little on the pricier side, so maybe not somewhere I'd go all the time but it's a perfect spot for an event such as a birthday dinner.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I went in without any expectations. I wanted to experience everything myself and form my own conclusions about Sparrow + Wolf. That being said, the tasting menu was a very different experience than we had anticipated. It's quite expensive for the amount of food you end up eating: $135 per person ($160 if you add the Foie Gras). This is due to some plates being shared between people, and other small portion items being individual.

The service itself was great. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was quiet, and it had a more intimate feel than many of the places we've been. The food was unique, for lack of a better word. The presentation was nice and the timing of the service was well executed. Some items were quite good, like the Eye of Rib and the Pork. However, many of the courses were a mixture of flavors that didn't seem to go together. Lots of citrus, and nearly every dish had some kind of chili oil or type of nut added to it. The chocolate torte at the end might have been the best part of the meal. I didn't entirely finish the last few courses before that: It's not that I wasn't hungry, I just wanted something different. Nothing stood out as making the meal worth the price.

For two people, with two drinks each, and "auto gratuity" added, this meal was $500. It was a fun experience, but not the one we had hoped for, considering the amount of hype surrounding it and glowing reviews we've seen.

I'll admit that I actually think the food is good--but not altogether special, which at this price point and this difficulty of making a reservation...

To start, the service was great. Our waiter was friendly and walked us through the menu, and I definitely appreciated his attentiveness. I have mixed feelings about the ambiance, because the restaurant is nice and atmospheric, if a little dark--I just had the misfortune of sitting next to some people who maybe had a bit too much to drink and were frankly a little obnoxious, but this is always a danger in smaller, cozier restaurants. Just something to keep in mind; Sparrow and Wolf isn't exactly the place for a private, intimate dinner.

As for food-- During my visit the menu was something of a Japanese fusion, which I again had mixed feelings about. I think my favorites were dishes without much Japanese influence, like the hummus (my favorite of the night, and a five-star dish unfortunately dragged down by the other dishes). Meanwhile, the Japanese sweet potato was absolutely drowned in crème fraîche, like an ungodly amount. No one needs that much, and I would have preferred a little more potato in what is a shared plate. Also not a huge fan of the bread-- Purportedly Japanese milk bread (shokupan) but honestly, it might have just been a Parker house roll for all the difference it made. Delicious, but not special; and the yuzu kosho butter was not a good idea, personally. Not a very traditional application of something that generally covers up odors and and is really unnecessary on a very mild bread. Honestly, I tossed the leftover crème fraîche on the bread and it was an improvement.

Veggie dishes were fine--broccolini and carrots, both roasted (but not quite enough...I felt like they needed some more wok energy), covered in sauce, but overall very one-note.

Very loud music, loud restaurant. Have to yell to have a conversation. The dessert we ordered was really. They recommended family style but it's not filling per dish as family style.

My favorite meal during my week in Vegas! Worth walking 30 min to on the side of the freeway lol. Creative, internationally-inspired small plates AKA the best type of restaurant. Great, friendly service and good pacing of dishes.
      * Oxtail hummus: MY FAVE. The oxtail was so tender and rich, and the naan was the perfect hummus vessel.
      * Foie gras toast (special): unfortunately I don't like coconut but the foie was yum ofc.
      * Japanese sweet potato: just so good that's all I'll say.
      * Bánh cuôn: loved the rice noodle roll and sauce but there were mushrooms inside which I hate.
      * Chocolate ganache torte: we were so full but still got 2 desserts. Very rich and tasty but hard to finish.
      * Honey toast: a showstopper and must-order. Crispy, caramelized outside, soft & fluffy inside.
Hot tip: they are on inKind which offers great discounts on food (ended up being only ~$70 for 2 ppl).

Sparrow + Wolf was an amazing experience that delivered From the starters to the desserts, I could not have asked for a better meal.

The each course was an elevated version of something that I've had before, but every first bite was such a pleasant surprise.

The highlight before dessert was one of the best porterhouse steaks that I've had in years and if ordered on the strip would have cost 75% more.

But then came dessert. The real wow factor was delivered by the honey milk bread. This is a must order and the star of the menu. Don't skip it!

Overall, this was one of the best meals I've had in Vegas and can't wait to come back to try the rest of the mainstays

Ambiance: 4/5 (a little dark, but it's the mood of the restaurant)

My husband and I recently went to Vegas and wanted to try a restaurant off The Strip one night and found this one through a recommendation from a local. Located in Chinatown in a standard strip mall, the restaurant is an intimate size, gorgeously decorated, with great energy.

Our food line-up was as follows: 1) oxtail hummus w/ crispy chickpeas, 2) grass fed beef tartate, 3) braised rabbit and agnolotti, and 4) the pan-roasted monkfish. For my cocktail, I ordered the My Pear of Calvins.

The My Pear of Calvins cocktail was delicious - I thought the drink was the perfect amount of sweet without it being overwhelming.

The grass fed tartare, which was one of our starters, was bright, fresh, and tasty. The two mains - the rabbit and the monkfish - were both beautifully flavored. The rabbit with the agnolotti was rich and delicious. The sauce on the monkfish was otherworldly. Hands down, my favorite dish of the night was the oxtail hummus - THIS IS A MUST-HAVE! I cannot recommend this dish enough. I would have eaten three of these if I had the appetite.

For dessert, the honey bread is one of the yummiest sweet treats I've ever tasted - another must-have!

Our server was fantastic - made great recommendations, was very invested in the food, and came back an appropriate number of times to check on us. He was friendly, quick, and personable - my only regret is not remembering his name to give him the proper kudos he deserves!

My husband and I are enjoy eating out and rarely visit a place twice as there are simply too many great restaurants in the world, but we both agreed that next time we are in Vegas we will be back at Sparrow & Wolf. Hands down, one of the best meals we've had EVER!

I definitely recommend coming here. It is worth leaving the strip and supporting this restaurant. This was a cozy, cute place. We were greeted with excitement and the staff were very knowledgeable about the drinks and menu. The food and drinks were outstanding.

I have mixed feelings since I know the menu changes and there's so many different things to try. So many people have recommended this place but maybe it was what we ordered.

Service was very friendly & informative. Restaurant can get pretty loud as it is a relatively small space.

Spring mountain sour: light, fresh & tart cocktail that was well-balanced
Oxtail hummus: this was delicious! Oxtail was tender, flavorful & paired well with the hummus and pita bread
Duck báhn cuôn: so refreshing & light! Loved the coconut milk sauce it came with & wish it came with more than 2 since it was so delicious
Rabbit & agnolotti: it was my 1st time trying rabbit & was not a big fan of this. It was a bit too gamey for my liking & the agnolotti was a great texture but the filling was too tart/tangy.
Pork secreto: juicy & tender but nothing in flavoring that was quite memorable

Overall, underwhelming experience considering all the hype but am opening to trying other menu items!
