How do people dress for the showroom typically?

Every way! Some people dress business casual (which is pretty much the norm) then there are people in shorts. I would stick with business casual.

It's great as a host for USBC tournaments.
Came here earlier this month to "compete" in the 2024 USBC Open Championships. If we ignore the bowling part of the stay, this hotel and casino is pretty awesome. The place is huge and there are plenty of free parking options. The rooms are modernized and there are plenty of restaurants to try if you are on a tight schedule. I really liked the cafe from 12am to 6am where you can eat a nice breakfast for like $6. Yes $6, and you don't even need to gamble once. Pretty sure room rates are discounted for bowlers as I thought the rooms were a steal. Huge overall with expo space, multiple bowling centers, fitness, theaters, and all.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelene H.Avon, IN012May 12, 2024
I DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR YOUR FIRST CASINO EXPERIENCE!!!!
Went to the casino because I recently turned 21(6 months ago). I went with my mom and sister who is 24 but looks very young. We got our cards and we were trying to figure out how to use them when we stopped by a machine where someone had just won the jackpot and was waiting on an attendant, an older brunette with greys and red streaks, stopped us on the way to help the jackpot winner and said to my sister "you look very young I'm gonna have to check your id" as my sister is handing over her id my sister says pointing to me "I'm actually older than her" she responds " I'm checking hers next" I in an attempt to ease her nerves as she was on the way to help someone go " well you have to put your id in to get a card" she assumed that I was arguing with her proceeds to say " well you're gonna get your id checked by multiple people ( even though we had previously walked around and talked to several employees with out any issues) I respond " no I understand I'm just saying we are indeed of age" she proceeds to say don't be rude as she asks for my id. I walked away for a second grabbed my id she looks at it and hands it back but only halfway so I snatch it out of her hand. She then proceeded to stare at me as I told my family I need to be somewhere else. I believe she then went to tell security about the interaction.
If this is your very first time going to a casino I would not recommend. The process of the slot cards was difficult to understand and the staff had trouble explaining it to us.
I do recommend the buffet it was wonderful and had many different options even for those on strict diets! Every staff member was nice and efficient except for the previously mentioned attendant.
This is my family for a face reference of age.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lara S.Lockhart, TX16910Apr 14, 2024Updated review
We come here regularly for bowling tournaments. Mostly we love it. But then weird stuff happens.
The bartenders at Miguel's bar are awesome. Let's just say that.
But the island bar tonight charged us $14 for drinks while we were gambling. What the heck??Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Lara, Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am sorry about the issue you had with the bottle of water at the gift shop. We are supposed to request an ID for all transactions that are charged to the room so it sounds like we have some training to do on our end. You are right that we should be consistent! I have shared your feedback with the appropriate managers for appropriate action to be taken. We appreciate that you took the time to tell us where we have room to improve as we can only get better when we know what we need to work on! We hope to see you back again in the near future. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Hotel OperationsJun 9, 2019Previous reviewCasino itself is fine. Restaurants pretty good and not as overpriced as the strip (except Michaels which is way overpriced and very snooty - odd for something off the strip). But the 2 stars given because after a workout I stopped at the gift shop for a $2.29 bottle of water. When I wanted to charge it to my room I gave them my room number and name but they wanted an ID also. For a $2 bottle of water. I've charged whole meals at the restaurants and not been asked for an ID. But the grumpy lady at the gift store wouldn't budge, had to save that $2 bottle of water!!
Excellent customer service! And soooooo consistent. Not. - May 12, 2024
If you are looking for a hotel in Las Vegas that is away from the strip and old town Las Vegas, then this is it. It is about 20 minutes from the strip and I was surprised with how big the resort and casino were. The table games had reasonable minimums and the sports book was close to all the action. There are several restaurants on property along with rooms for less than half of what I paid the next night on the strip. The resort is great for families as the property has a pool, a bowling alley, and a spa.

Just stayed 2 nights at the Southpoint. It has nice rooms, with a Fantastic Spa and the pool is OPEN!!
Great Racebook, with my favorite Racebook employee, Tom, to take my bets. Then I can go up to my room and watch the race.
Fantastic Sportsbook as well, with comfortable seats and $1.50 Hot Dogs!!
Try the $19.95 Porterhouse Steak special in the Cafe! Great Value!
Lots of FREE PARKING!!

Hotel OperationsMar 11, 2016Previous reviewThis review is for The Southpoint Spa. As a frequent traveler to Vegas in the course of business, to visit my properties, I stay at the Southpoint often. I LOVE the facilities at their Spa, and the best healthclub/gym at ANY Vegas hotel. There are ALL the latest machines and treadmills are always available. The place is immaculate, and the service, Lead by Manager Eric, is Exceptional! The Spa has a Beauty Salon that offers FULL Service, and Exceptional Haircuts for Businessmen!

South Point Hotel is a pretty large hotel with a movie theater, bowling alley, casino, tons of restaurants and a rodeo? Need I say more? lol. It's not on the strip, so it's a little more affordable. There seem to be a lot of locals and kids. It's definitely a different vibe.
I like that parking is free here. I've been here twice now and know some people who like to stay here (as opposed to on the strip or downtown). Both times I was here, I had good experiences. The bowling alley is a very happening place and they have an arcade that's pretty great too. The food has a lot to be desired, but at least it's affordable.
I think the bowling alley is great. It's huge and they're very clean and efficient. You can rent shoes, buy socks from a vending machine, eat cheap popcorn, hot dogs and pizza and have a great time with the kids :)
I haven't stayed here and can't say anything about the rooms, but the casino looks pretty dated, so I'd think the rooms are on the older side too.
This hotel isn't glitzy or glamorous, it's affordable and chill.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

This isn't a casino on the strip - but I kind of prefer that. They have great table game offerings, all the slots you are familiar with, a great sports book and a 24/7 Starbucks. Can't go wrong.
They have every kind of food you are looking for & even a movie theater built in.
A good spot to get away from the crowd and enjoy some chill betting time.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

This is a great local, chill casino that always offers a lot of specials and great priced drinks. Service here is always good and prompt. Casino is spacious with multi-levels and multiple bowling alleys, bingo room on 2nd floor, and a variety of dining options. For casino entertainment they will have what you need.
There is nothing "special" about the decor here that sets this place a part from other casinos except the beautiful stained glass behind the hotel check-in area. The rest of the place is a pretty standard casino.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Respectful and friendly staff. Enjoy the all you can eat brunch when I go during the National Finals Rodeo. A lot to do in on spot especially for the equestrian community. Worth going if you choose to go to Vegas.

We came for a bowling competition and have been very impressed with not only the services but with the overall condition and cleanliness of the hotel our rooms and especially the alleys.
The garden buffet has a substantial amount and selection of food and the quality has been very good. I've eaten way too much the past few days. Lol
We had dinner last night in the cafe and the food there was also very tasty.
This casino has done an excellent job of making our stay very relaxed and has over the top customer service. We would definitely return again. Thanks to you SP management.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1Business owner information
