Sonny's BBQ

Shelby was awesome as our server today! She Helped rush our order so we could make it on time to catch our flight. The food was very very good too! Loved it! We are from out of town but will be back!

My wife and I are in town for the night before catching a flight back home, and we were looking for places to eat. We saw Sonny's BBQ had decent reviews. So we walked there from our hotel. We were greeted at the door and immediately taken to a table... a dirty table which our greeter wipes off with a paper towel, then smeared something on the bench seat that fell off he table. Looked like a Mac n cheese noodle. Anyway, there were 4 or 5 high-top tables to choose from in the bar area, but he tried to seat us there, at a dirty table, instead. I had to ask Liz, the bartender, for a wet towel to wipe off the schmootz from the seat.
She moved us to a clean high-top. Liz was great! The food was ok. Brisket was a little dry but tasted good. Pulled pork was good when I added some of their special saices that were on the table. Mac n cheese noodles were overcooked and mushy, but they still tasted good. Ribs weren't very good, in our opinion. BBQ beans were delish!
The worst part of the review is that there were cobwebs and bugs trapped in the webs on all the hanging lights over the tables. Bugs flying around and crawling on the tables. This place really needs to be cleaned up. Take some pride in your establishment. The patio/outdoor area isnt a pleasant eating environment, either. However, my wife said the ladies' room was the cleanest she's seen at a restaurant in a long time. Thank goodness you have fun people like Liz. We would have walked out if it wasn't for her.

Walked in and put our name down aware there would be a wait. Another couple walked in after us and the server helping seat sat them. We were sat and waited 20 minutes before being helped. Not sure if the host forgot to tell the server the table had been sat or of the server forgot about us.
Once we we ordered, it did not take long to receive our food. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which is always good.
Since this location is close to the airport, it can get busy with visitors.

First, the service here is outstanding! The hostess that greeted me was polite, passed my drink order on to the server and recommended her favorite.

The server was great as well. My drink stayed topped off, she was very friendly and my order came quickly.

The food is the reason for the 3 stars. I had the half chicken with Mac & cheese and coleslaw.

The chicken was very dry, even the dark meat. The skin was more towards bubble gum than crispy. For reference and those that eat BBQ, I ate the chicken will my hands and only used one napkin. The Mac and cheese was on the same level as the frozen stuff you get it a TV dinner. The coleslaw was good though.

The food was great and and I had great company ofcourse, my brother, he was dying for ribs and he got it. I went for the beef brisket with 2 sides. Service was great and really cool ambiance. Plan to be back with more fam.

Food is always great. However the waiter truly was inattentive today. We had to ask for refills. He forgot our coleslaw which would have been ok but he never came back to check in till the meal was almost done. We were the only one in his section.

We have been coming to Sonny's for 30 years. Never had a bad meal.

The host and server were Great , Excellent communication , the kids loved their food chicken tenders, Mac and cheese and garlic bread, also French fries.
My half chicken was delicious, and my husband loved his chicken sandwich.

Our first stop after we land at the airport! Excellent service...even better BBQ! Thanks to our Yelp check-in offer-we tried their BBQ eggroll appetizer. They were awesome! Never a miss with any of their BBQ plates-I would recommend them all! Don't forget to have their sweet tea & have your server make your (refilled) sweet tea to go! The beef brisket is to die for, but don't take my word for it-check it out!

It's not bad at all! I wasn't disappointed with how it tasted. The sauce seems to be a staple. Their sauces are delicious.

For the amount of food I got, it's worth the price. It's pretty filling.

General Comment:

Overall, the food was good! I really enjoy their sauces. If you're looking for good and affordable food, this is a good spot. You get a good amount of food for your money. You should try this spot out!
