Smog Shop

This Smog Shop has changed over to new management since this original owner Ken passed away from having cancer. I went to this Smog Shop once (two years ago), when Ken who was the owner and Travis worked for Ken.

Ken sold his Smog Shop to Jaimie Mendoza who is the new owner of this Smog Shop now. I know Jaimie really well due to Jaimie use to work for this Smog Shop in Vista, CA as an A. S. E. Certified Smog Technician for several years and Jaimie has a wide range of experience conducting Smog Tests on older vehicles from the year 1990 to 1998. These older vehicles require more intensive Smog Testing due to this CA State Law Requirements for the Department of Motor Vehicles in helping to keep our Air Level at a higher standard in order to have a cleaner environment for our city streets and on our highways.

I feel very comfortable with Jaimie because I have already established a good business relationship with him at his former work place and I Trust Jaimie due to he has extensive experience in conducting Smog Tests on older vehicles like my 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe Car and on my mom's 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan Car.

I called today and Hannah who is Jaimie's daughter answered my phone call after it rang twice. I asked Hannah how much would Jaimie charge me to do a Smog Test on my 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe Car? Also does the total price of this Smog Test include the original copy of this Smog Certificate and how long will it take to perform this Smog Test on my car?

Hannah said to perform a Smog Test on my 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe Car Jaimie her father quoted me the price of $74.75 this price includes the original Smog Certificate which the standard price cost of $8.25 that also includes the sales tax for the total bill of $74.75. It will take the total time of (One hour) because since my 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe Car is an older vehicle there is more (intensive testing) that will be involved in conducting this smog test on my car.

Hannah told me to call their Smog Shop (one or two days ahead of time) to let Jaimie know that I will be bringing in my car into their shop. I can make an appointment with Hannah to reserve (a date and time) to do this smog test on my car.

I also asked Hannah, how much is the charge to do a Smog Test on my mom's 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan Car? How long does it take to finish this Smog Test and how many days ahead of time should I call to set up an appointment for a smog test?

Hannah asked her father ( Jaimie) to give me a quoted price on the smog test on my mom's car. Jaimie gave me a quoted price of $69.75 to perform this Smog Test and this price also includes the original Smog Certificate price.

Then Hannah said to me today during our phone conversation, this smog test that will be conducted on my mom's 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan Car, it will only take Jaimie (25 minutes to complete). Hannah said to me that I don't have to make an appointment with her and I can just walk-in any day and any time I want but to call their Smog Shop first which is one day ahead of time to let Jaimie her father know, in order for Jaimie to be able to plan out his work schedule for that specific day.

Hannah gave me excellent customer service and she was very professional in speaking to me during our phone conversation. I highly recommend this Smog Shop. I will call the Smog Shop sometime in January of 2022 to set up an appointment to have a smog test done on my car and my mom's car which her smog test will be coming up in February of 2022.

I just called this Smog Shop this morning and the phone rang (5 times) before the owner Travis left a message on his answering machine.

I wanted to compare prices on my Honda Civic Car and
ask Travis how much he would charge me to do a Smog
Test including the Smog Certificate?

Travis said his Smog Shop is currently (closed) due to he is receiving Cancer Treatment. Travis did not say in his
message what specific date his Smog Shop will reopen.

I am letting potential customers know ahead of time, so they can call another Smog Shop if their Smog Test is due immediately.

I just talked to Ken on my Apple IPhone XR Cell Phone a
few minutes ago. Ken the owner of the Smog Shop was very personable and polite during our conversation this
afternoon. Ken told me he already gave me the Original
Copy of my Mother's Smog Certificate after I paid Ken
for the Smog Test Check in the amount of $59.75 for
her 1998 Honda Accord Sedan.

I told Ken the owner I will update my Review of the Smog
Shop to a Excellent 5 Star Review since I misunderstood
what Ken thought that I requested a (Second Copy) of the Smog Certificate. Ken is a very understanding person
and I will bring my mom's Honda Accord in to his Smog
Shop the next time her Smog Test is required.

I set up an appointment two days before, the scheduled (smog check test) with Ken the owner of the Smog Shop the phone rang (5 times) and I had to leave a voicemail message on his answering machine. Ken didn't call me back until the next day to set up an appointment with me for the (smog test check). I scheduled the (smog test check in April of 2018). Smog Test Checks are required by the Department of Motor Vehicles once every (two years). I asked how much is Ken going to charge me to perform the smog test check on my mother's car? Ken said since her car is an older Honda Accord LX Car he will charge her $59.75. Ken he accepts (personal checks, credit cards and cash). This was the (first time) I had taken my mother's car into the Smog Shop to get a Smog Check Test.

I tried to confirm with Ken the owner that I want a copy of the (Original Smog Certificate) after he performs the (smog test check) and my mother's car passes the smog test. Ken said yes he will give me a copy of the (Smog Test Certificate) with the test results as I requested for my records.

I then drove over to the Smog Shop the next day with my mother's Honda Accord LX Car in April of 2018 in the later afternoon and parked in the front parking lot. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment time and waited until my name was called by Ken the owner. This Smog Shop was really busy during my wait time.

My name was finally called by Ken the owner, Ken drove the Honda Accord LX Car into the second bay into his garage to perform the (smog test check) on my mother's car. I saw Ken (raising the engine) and (testing) the (r. p. m.'s) at a (higher rate of speed) to see how my mother's Honda Accord LX Car would perform during his diagnostic check.
Then Ken (lowered the speed) of the (r. p. m.'s) and he was (calculating the diagnostic codes) on the (machine) for the (results of the smog test check). Ken told me that my mother's Honda Accord LX Car did (pass) the (smog test check). The (smog test check) took 30 minutes to complete. I was very happy with the (test results). I wrote out a personal check for the amount of $59.75 to the Smog Shop but I asked for my mother's signature on the front of her personal check the day before so her personal check will go through with no problems.

Then Ken told me that he will electronically send a copy of the (Smog Certificate) to the (Department of Motor Vehicles) in Sacramento, CA.
I said okay thank you. But I did notice that Ken the owner (didn't give me) a (copy of the Smog Certificate Results) that I requested from him for my records. When I called him the next day, Ken told me he forgot to give me my copy of the (Smog Certificate). I was disappointed.

I called Ken the next day to confirm that he did send the results of the (smog test check) to the DMV and he said he did it already but it is going to take (6 hours) before DMV receives the (smog test results) from his computer database. I said okay no problem. Then I left the Smog Shop.

Note: I would have given Ken the owner of the Smog Shop a (5 star review) but he forgot to give me a copy of the (Smog Certificate) which I really wanted for my mother's records. That is why I gave him a (4 star review).
