At Sierra Grill, we pride ourselves in operating a true scratch kitchen where everything is made in-house. We cut our steaks, smoke our meats, double grind our proprietary blend every morning to create our one of a kind Brisket Burger. We make soups, dressings, stocks, sauces and fresh mozzarella in house as well. All of our grilled items are cooked on a 100% wood fire grill. We use local vendors whenever possible, such as Alchemy cold brew and drip coffee, KC Bier, Martin City Brewery, Boulevard Brewery, Free State Brewery, Sandhills Brewing, and many other. When in season we receive as much local produce as possible, and adjust our menu to reflect these choices. Our commitment to clean quality products is shown off by a menu that pays homage to the belief, that if you make good quality food, the ingredients will speak for themselves. The complexity of flavors, with the simplicity of our ingredients, paired with a dining experience that will make you feel like your eating with family.

Got the Wednesday lunch special...a Smothered Steak Philly Sandwich with sliced filet, onions and peppers, Swiss cheese, bourbon cream served on Cuban bread with choice of side $18.
This was delicious!! My first time trying it for lunch this week and now I know why it's a special feature. I love that they have so many side choices as well, it's like a new meal every time. And the quality for $18 was amazing.
Service was fast and attentive. Very busy and lovely lunch crowd this day. After I boxed up half of my meal because I couldn't eat it all given the large portion, I went out to the big patio to soak up some sun while I finished my drink!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Apr 9, 2024Previous reviewSierra Grill is an absolute gem in Lenexa, Kansas at City Center. Every time I step foot into this restaurant, I'm greeted by the intoxicating aroma of wood-fired goodness that permeates the air. You can truly taste the dedication to freshness and quality in every bite, as everything is made from scratch.
Having had the pleasure of chatting with the head chef and owner, I was blown away by their commitment to excellence. They take pride in sourcing only the freshest meats and fish, hand-cutting everything to ensure top-notch flavor and texture. It's no wonder their dishes, like the braised short ribs, steak, grilled halibut, and scallops, burst with flavor and melt in your mouth.
But Sierra Grill isn't just about the incredible food; it's about the entire experience. Happy hour on the spacious patio is an absolute delight, with great deals on drinks and delicious bar bites.
The staff, from servers to bartenders, are not only seasoned professionals but also incredibly friendly, making every visit feel like a warm welcome home as they remember your face.
And let's not forget about their extensive wine and bourbon lineup, perfect for those looking to explore new varietals and complement their meal with the perfect glass.
Sierra Grill is more than just a steak or seafood restaurant; it's a culinary journey that leaves you craving more with each visit. If you're in Overland Park, Shawnee, Leawood, Mission or Lenexa, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of their scratch kitchen and entrepreneurial dedication firsthand. We had reservations for 6, it was easy to make reservations online. Table was ready for us right on time. Server was excellent and very attentive!
Food was served in a timely manner and everyone loved what they ordered; Halibut, Pork Chop, Salmon, Short Ribs, and Braised Beef appetizer, & the side dishes were excellent.
Very inviting atmosphere for any occasion.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Jan 24, 2024
Sierra Grill is a nice, moderately upscale restaurant. Sat at the bar where I noticed that they cook some meats over a wood fire which is pretty cool. Alex, the bartender/server, was friendly and personable. I had the old fashioned which was a sizeable pour and had a really nice balance of flavor, strength and sweetness. The scallops and risotto were great, but slightly salty. The creme brulee was very good and not too sweet.
It does get pretty loud, so you might have to talk a bit louder than usual to have a conversation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Irena R.Shawnee, KS62251May 18, 2024
So very disappointed in this new place at Lenexa City Center! Marginal food, extremely overpriced, zero atmosphere - we sat outside - like we were just in the parking lot, and unhappy servers - we couldn't find even one with a smile.

Great place for ladies night to relax and talk for hours. The food was amazing and service was spectacular! The management checked on our table at least 3 times to see how our experience was going. They also overheard us say it was someone's birthday so they gave the Creme Brûlée on the house. Mac and cheese was creamy topped with thinly slices of smoked brisket. The beef short rib over mash potato was delicious and plenty to take home for leftovers. Both desserts were amazing but the bread pudding could have used vanilla ice cream which would have made it perfect. Price ranged from $26-50/entree but was worth it and plenty to take home. I encourage reservations!

I had the sauce for the ceviche appetizer on the side. I am glad I did because it was spicy hot. So I ate the dish without the sauce, and it was kind of bland that way. But super nutritious! So I was happy! my friend had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese. It looked fabulous and he really enjoyed it. I think I will have that next time!

Too loud. Food portions low. Not Expensive if you consider 2 salads, and 1x coffee for $75 (incl top) affordable

We went in the early evening (like 4 or 5) and it was by reservation only for a table.
We opted to sit at the bar. The bar tenders were great. The drinks were great and so too was the food.
We had a couple of cocktails and the steak frite and ceviche appetizers. It was great for two of us.
We'll definitely go back and based on the atmosphere at the bar, we'd still sit there even if there wasn't reservation room only for tablesHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1
