Dont bother. The taste is subpar and the fees are overpriced. Other than the "romantic" low/dim lighting, i dont understand how places like this justify their prices. This spot is definately for the "trendy" crowd. So dont waste your time and money… more

Amazingly delicious!
We visited Scarpetta for my bestie's birthday dinner after being unable to get a reservation at Carbone (because who is paying for that smh). There were three of us so we agreed to share our appetizers.
We got the creamy polenta, charred octopus, and yellowtail crudi to start. For my entree, I got the Muscovy duck, one friend got the Pappardelle, and another friend got the pea & ricotta mezzaluna.
For drinks, we went with the recommended chef pairings for our entrees. I also had the margherita Italiana.
We all thoroughly enjoyed everything but we were a bit upset they didn't have the lobster pasta. Also, I wish I took more pics!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 14, 2024
Came here for my birthday with a reservation through CapitalOne Dining Club, which provides some benefits. We were seated immediately at a cozy table for 2. The service was excellent. Our server was prompt and friendly, and gave us a free appetizer AND and extra little pour of wine to my glass, a very nice surprise! I think this is what comes with the Dining Club reservation. They are known for their handmade pasta so we got the spaghetti marinara and the bone marrow tortellini. The latter was special with good flavor and something crispy sprinkled on it, delicious.
Overall a nice meal and enjoyed the perks with the Dining Club, albeit pricey.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 27, 20241 check-in
We had a Broadway show at 7pm and advised our server. He took our order and made sure we left on time. We appreciated them taking our photos too, to celebrate our bach party.
Bread service was fun with butter, roumy and evoo. Pastas incl the cacio and spaghetti were delicious. Scallops were fresh. Pulpo looked good but wasn't my thing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 7, 20241 check-in
During my stay at the James Hotel in Nomad, I had the pleasure of visiting Scarpetta for breakfast on several occasions. The avocado toast paired with perfectly scrambled egg whites is delicious! The ambiance at Scarpetta adds to the enjoyment, with its stylish yet welcoming décor, making every breakfast feel like a special occasion. The service is impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff

I dined at Scarpetta for the first time this week and it was one of the most delicious meals I've had in the city.
The restaurant has a beautiful decor; very modern and chic. We were surprised to find how busy it was for a Monday night, but after trying the food and the exceptional service we experienced, we could see why.
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and very well-presented:
- Yellowtail
- Tuna Susci
- Creamy Polenta
- Braised Short Rib
- Burrata
- Spaghetti
- Ravioli Cacio e Pepe
- Valrhona Chocolate Cake
The Spaghetti with tomato and basil is one of their signature dishes and was lovely. Quite possibly even better was the Ravioli Cacio e Pepe with charred leek, brown butter and sage, with all of the flavors just melting in your mouth. The Creamy Polenta also came highly recommended and is a must-try.
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and we enjoyed every dish.
It's a great spot to dine with a group, since it's quite lively and you can also try various dishes that way. Can't wait to come back again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 2024
Great restaurant for a date night or a nice night out with family or loved ones. More of an intimate setting.
The complimentary bread is really nice since you get a variety of types. My favorite was the focaccia.
Went with a big group and was able to sample a little bit of a lot of different dishes. One of my favorites was the grilled branzino - perfectly tender and the sweetness of the fish was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of salt. I HIGHLY recommend the tomato basil spaghetti - such a simple, yet highly palatable dish. That was by far my favorite dish, but I do wish you were able to add a protein to it.
The service was great, just as you'd expect for a nice NYC restaurant. Nothing above and beyond.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
This is a solid place with great food, but it's pretty expensive. As long I'm not buying though you can absolutely count me in, I love a hotel restaurant.
Yellowfin crudo and octopus were my favorites, short rib agnolotti was too rich/sweet for me. The complimentary bread was SOOO good I could've eaten just that as my whole dinner. Their gluten free bread was even shockingly delish.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 95234578Dec 29, 2023
We walked in for our 10pm reservation, although we waited almost 40 mins before we were sat. The waiter promptly brought over a bottle of Prosecco on the house since there was such a delay in seating. Mind you it was a Friday night and it was fairly busy. I do want to say this is a beautiful restaurant with a very romantic modern vibe.
The waiter then came over brought us complimentary bread with a few spreads and went over the menu while asking us what we had a taste for. I really appreciated the effort he took in getting to know our likes and dislikes and didn't rush us at all in ordering. We opted to start with the Burrata, with roasted apple, delicata, butternut squash purée, which was delicious. We also ordered the Charred Octopus, with marble potato, artichoke, celery, scallion, guazzetto. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted so good.
Next up was dinner and we ordered a few dishes, the Short Rib & Bone Marrow Agnolotti, Tagliatelle, and the Ravioli Cacio E Pepe. Let me just say all pastas were rich in flavor , very fresh and the portions were just enough for one person where you didnt feel as though you over indulged.
We didn't end with dessert but we did finish with a glass of champagne and that was a perfect ending to our dinner. Cant wait to come back and have another wonderful experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Nov 28, 2023
Very popular crowded restaurant during peak hours. There's a bar and dining area, but very congested and loud. Reservation is must for peak time dining.
I have had mixed experience dining here. Even though we arrived bang on at our reserved time, we had to wait 20-25 minutes to get our table. Complementary bread was nice, menu has variety of appetizers and entrees.
We ordered lots of the appetizers. Scallops, octopus were really good, but short ribs and burrata were average. For entree I had far more expectation from the waygu streak. Even though it was tender and moist, I felt it lacked in seasoning. We liked the chocolate cake dessert.
The table service is excellent. But the kitchen takes their sweet time to prepare the dishes. So, expect to spend a decent time while dining here.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
