We joined Scalini Fedeli for Valentine's day. They were quite busy, and we had to wait around 10 minutes for our table, which they profusely apologized for, and provided us with complimentary prosecco. Once we sat down, we understood why they were so busy - the service was excellent, the wine list extensive, and the courses all above average to superb. It was a wonderful experience, and we will certainly be back!

Food: excellent. Rich but still subtle at the same time, sufficiently inventive but not edgy. Articulates its particular approach and style superbly.
Service: again, excellent, attentive, prompt, well-paced.
Ambiance: this is a matter of taste. Good and consistent in its own way.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 9, 2024
Scalini Fedeli has another location in Chatham, and this restaurant serves up Tuscan fare.
We came here for an early dinner as a group, and tried the following:
+Shrimp in a Sherry-Mustard Sauce - with pickled tropea onion; this was one of the favorites in our party
+Soft Egg Yolk Raviolo - soft egg yolk raviolo in a truffle butter sauce with grated black truffles; definitely worth getting the supplement of the truffles
+Butternut Squash Agnolotti - in a sage butter topped with crushed amaretti and buffalo mozzarella; this was a good dish, and not too 'sweet' as I thought it would have been
+Spaghettini "Arrabiatta" - in a spicy tomato and basil sauce with olives, mushrooms, and anchovies
+Porcini Ravioli - in a wild mushroom and black truffle sauce
+Calabrian Fusilli - in a spicy pescatore sauce with shrimp, artichokes, and mushrooms
+Ricotta Gnocchi - in a tomato and basil sauce, arugula, and goat cheese
For desserts, we tried:
+the "Panino" crisp pistachio and hazelnut caramel wafers, layered with hazelnut gelato
+Honey roasted peach tart with vanilla gelato and crushed amaretto cookies
+Italian-style doughnuts with ricotta cheese over lemon-mascarpone crema, drizzled with orange blossom honey and toasted pignoli
+a Ricotta, mascarpone and pecorino cheesecake with a red wine-aged balsamic vinegar reduction and marinated strawberries
Service was friendly and attentive.
The ambiance is relaxing, and the interior seems like a typical Italian restaurant.
A good spot for solo diners as well as for small groups.

Came here for a 1st date and it couldn't have been better. Staff gave us a private corner table and were very attentive. The dirty martinis were very good, although my date thought it was too salty...my bad..I asked for extra dirty! She had an apple martini and was happy. Got the tasting menu and every course was excellent...the only one I didn't enjoy was the steak which had no seasoning on it...I also recommend ordering it medium. Desserts were excellent. The venue is really romantic and great for dates. It is a pricey restaurant but worth it if you want to impress your date and have a great time!

Old school awesome Italian. Not a red sauce place and more wide-ranging than that. Great vintage high level service

What a fantastic restaurant! My wife had been to the Chatham location and always raved about it. We gave their NYC location a shot, and it was one of the better restaurant experiences I've had recently.
The menu is slightly unique in that it's a pre-fixe with options for each course. First course is mostly pastas, and antipasto type offerings. The mains are mostly fish and meat. A bunch of dessert options too. It was (I believe) $89/pp which is a great deal for the whole experience. Wines by the glass were a little pricey, but nothing too crazy.
We had three amuse bouche dishes before everything. Notably, the shrimp with mustard/sherry reduction was fantastic.
For the first course I did the porcini ravioli. I normally don't gravitate towards truffle dishes, but this was incredible. The sauce was rich and very truffley (If that's a word), but also wasn't overpowering or too heavy. I would make sure to order this if you come here. My wife had the tagliatelle bolognese which was perfectly executed as well.
As for the main dish, I had the duck. Cooked perfectly, and the cherry reduction was delicious and not overly sweet. Great mashed potatoes as well.
For dessert we each had a soufle which is entirely too much food, but was just as good as the rest of the dishes.
Service was on point, and the ambiance makes the whole experience feel special. I'll absolutely be back!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michael C.Secaucus, NJ1282Mar 9, 2024

A PHENOMENAL Italian spot in TriBeCa. I had no idea this restaurant existed and it blew me away.
Let me start by saying while all the food was delicious, what really stood out to us was the service here. They treat you like royalty and it's probably some of the best service at a restaurant I've ever seen.
Our party of 5 did the $79 per person pre fix menu. This comes with 3 shared apps for the table, one item from their pasta course, one from the mains/proteins, and a dessert. Everything we ate was phenomenal and portions are very generous.
On top of the pre fix, the chef brought out several complimentary items. We got 2 extra appetizers for the table, an additional mushroom pasta dish for the table and EACH got a coconut lime sorbet scoop on top of our picked desserts. Completely worth the $79 price tag - we literally rolled out of the restaurant we were so full.
I personally ordered the butternut squash agnolotti and the scallops for my main and zero complaints.
Would come back here any time and will be recommending to everyone.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 227145122Jan 12, 2023
This restaurant, blew me out of the water for NYE - the service and ambience was spot on... wait for it... SENSIBLE PRICE POINT FOR NYE - $150 for 5 courses.
Let me tell you: the pasta dishes blew us out of the fuck'n water.

Nick, the manager, was fantastic and ensured I kept my reservation despite a booking hiccup.
I will return over and over again for their incredible pasta and wine collection.Helpful 3Thanks 3Love this 2Oh no 1 - K I.New York, NY075Dec 26, 2023
Delightful evening at Scalini Fedeli! We managed to get a last minute reservation and went to celebrate a big event. Excellent wines and cocktails and service, and the food was fantastic. I didn't know going in that it was a prix fixé menu, so it's not a "I want to stuff my face with pasta" kind of place as I had been hoping. But the food was delicious and presented beautifully. Not surprised they have a Michelin star.
