I went here for lunch buffet. It was nice and clean and a fairly nice selection of fresh made food. Everything tasted fine, although some things seemed runny/watery. Seems on par with the other Indian places in the area. The naan was the best I've had.

The quality of the buffet made me regret coming for lunch - it looked like everything was a leftover warmed up food. The one redeeming item was the fresh bread.

I ate at the buffet today. Wonderful selection for a very reasonable price. The food was delicious, would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian food.

This place doesn't get enough hype!! Rochesters best keep secret for sure! Today we got the lunch which had nan, and soooo many delicious vegan options to choose from. A must visit for sure! The music and vibe is always wonderful, the service is exceptional. Don't go anywhere else!!

BEST INDIAN FOOD IN ROCHESTER! Service was so good, food was out of this world (wish i took pics but it was all gone so soon) and the portions were awesome. Such an awesome menu. For what it's worth, my brown family loves this place. Going to try and make it everytime we're in Rochester. Thank you Nobin!

I went here for the buffet, pretty standard.
I tried everything on the buffet line up with 2 plates and little scoops of everything around a center of rice. I liked that the rice came with plump looking peas. (Sometimes at buffets, the peas in the rice are really desiccated and wrinkly.) The chicken makhani is the best thing on the buffet lineup. The samosa is nice, standard. I unfortunately didn't realize that there were chutneys and sauces over in the dessert/fruit buffet bar.
I also liked the variety. There's a good assortment of veg and non-veg. The lentil dal was kind of on the watery side and had kidney beans, I'm used to a thick lentil-forward dal. The spices were kinda mild to me.
Service was great! Picked a table and put down my bag. Went to fill up my buffet plate and warm buttered naan and water in my glass appeared at my table to welcome me back. I liked that there's a cambro of chai for infinite refills. The juice was too sweet for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth M.Rochester, NY211May 28, 2023
First time at Royal of India was for the Saturday lunch buffet. It was stellar! There was a great array of veggie and paneer dishes, plus chicken and goat. The buffet included raita, pakora, samosas, several chutneys, and kachumber salad. A basket of naan graced every table. And, in addition to all the delicious food, you can enjoy mango juice, perfectly sweetened steaming chai, and ice cream to top it off!
Great value for the buffet and wonderful flavor. Only comment is the food is mild so if you are looking for spicy food you would have to order off the menu.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2021
Kudos to the owners at this restaurant for having a separate vegetarian section on the menu AND mentioning that all vegetarian options can be made vegan upon request!!
We ordered takeout on a Saturday. Wait time was very reasonable, pickup was quick and easy. Quantity of food received for the price was really great. BF ordered the baigan bartha which came with a surprising amount of green peas. We've ordered this many times from other restaurants and never seen peas added. He thought the taste was decent but it was too many peas. I ordered the chana saag. Taste was good but would have been elevated with the addition of fresh ginger or herbs stirred in or on top.
We would order from here again if we're in the area and wanted Indian food but would probably consider other places first.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Kristy M.Henrietta, NY2045475Jul 13, 2022
