Chip is an awesome help. Especially if you need a new pack.

He put weight in multiple packs, helped correctly cinch down the compression straps, and let me walk around the store for awhile to test them out.
Needless to say, Chip helped me get the right pack.

"Holy moly what is going on" we said as we turned into the parking lot of REI.

Masses of people were hovered around the door. Come to find out it's their annual garage sale.

They were only letting a few people in at a time, but I was able to go into the main part of the store without any issues.

I only came to get bug spray. Sure I can just grab a small travel size, and be on my way, ya right!

If you have ever been to this location you know that their customer service is clear in the very back corner of the store. I mean clear in the back corner.

This is where the end of the check out line was today. I needed the bug spray so I got in line, miles of people were ahead of me and people kept lining up in back of me.

You know how slow check out lines can be, well I waited a few minutes and started up a conversation with a lady behind me who said this is crazy I have a plane to catch.

I thought you know, I"ll just have to put on my boxing gloves, and go toe to toe with the mosquitoes, I'm not waiting here for $6. Time is money.

We decided to leave the mad crowd. When we left I said to the lady behind me, now you are one step closer to catching your plane **wink**

She just sighed...

I sure hope I have the name right -- Casey who worked Customer on July 4th is a real angel. I noticed folks in the queue getting help from him left with a smile. Easy to talk to aided by a sincere air to his response. When it came time to assist me with finding shoes not currently stocked in-store he went deep into his database. I truly appreciated the help & feel folks like him with a big heart in a demanding role deserve their shoutout (&possibly a raise). Worth their weight in gold for sure.

REI has always had quality products, but their pricing is much too high. If the company really wanted to grow the bottom line and have more satisfied customers they should look at Columbia's Sportswear and pricing strategies.

Came here searching for The Landmark Project XS tees and this store delivered!

When I visit National Parks, I always love the camping, hiking, beauty, and serenity, but am usually a little sad that they lack tees in XS to commemorate our adventures. Enter The Landmark Project and its rad National Park tee series and I'm one happy camper!

Each local REI only has the tees for the local area so on our road trip I've been collecting the tees for the parks I've visited and am stoked to be able to wear them as a way of showing love for our parks!

Also found some comfy Prana under the knee length shorts!

I was so impressed with how helpful the woman who walked me through nearby recommended hikes was. We were only in town for a short time, but this is the place to go if you are looking for earnest and kind recommendations to optimize your time in this beautiful place.

Nice selection and friendly staff. I always get inspired coming to REI. This location is nice because they rent gear and not all REI's offer that.
They also have a spacious store and parking lot, which is always helpful.
Props to the door greeter today- so sorry I can't remember his name, but he helped me out right as I walked in the door. Thanks for being helpful!

The #1 feature of this huge store for me is the customer service. I have never walked into the store and not been greeted, and then approached by a team member asking what I need and how they can help.

I have purchased a number of items over the years, and have come to really enjoy that you can depend on the brands they carry. This store is NOT a discount store, but is high-end climbing, mountaineering, camping, and outdoor clothing. You can find the coolest little gadgets that make camping so much more enjoyable. I have a backpack from them that I have used for years, and still get asked if I just purchased it.

I wish there were something that I could compare REI to in the Salt Lake area, but there simply is not. They have set themselves apart and really the only downside that I can see, is that their stuff last SO LONG that the must count on repeat purchases to upgrade all of a persons outdoor gear.

It just doesn't get better than this. REI has everything an outdoor lover can dream of, but the best part is that the staff is insanely knowledgeable. I was purchasing a Yeti cooler and one of the employees asked me what I'd be using it for... after chatting, he recommended I go up one size bigger, and I am so glad he did. The other one would've ended being too small.

They'll leave you alone to browse, or they will walk you through everything you need to grab for your upcoming adventure. I never feel pressured here. It's my favorite. Sometimes I like to look at things that I don't intend buying for awhile. I have a long list of 'wants' to add to my gear collection and the employees here get that.

Plus, the REI Satisfaction Guarantee is incredible. If for any reason you don't like the product within the first year, they will take it back no questions asked. I haven't had to use it because I always love what I end up purchasing, but that definitely gives some peace of mind.

If you come here often you should definitely become a REI Member. It's a one time $20 lifetime membership. Plus they have special promotions sometimes where if you become a member, they'll give you a $20 gift card for your next purchase... so your membership is basically free. The membership gets you an annual reward based on how much you spend, coupons every so often, access to events, discounts on events, and all kind of things that make $20 SO WORTH IT.
