Plaza Mexicana

Great staff from all over Central America. We and our kids enjoyed chatting with them in Spanish. Portions are HUGE. Easily split a plate. Guacamole and shrimp fajitas excellent.

One suggestion - no kids cups or straws unless people ask for them. Tenemos un problema con plástico en este mundo. Gracias!

We have eaten here a couple of times. The first thing to note is that the prices are very expensive compared to other Mexican restaurants.
The ambience is OK. We really liked the unique carving decor in the booths. You get a lot of food! But most dishes are about $10 more than you would spend elsewhere.
Most of the dishes that we tried for very good but last time I had a taco salad and it was horrible. it was all watery and runny.
Do NOT order the Taco salad!

Prices are higher than the menus in Yelp pics, some seem reasonable but other dishes are very expensive. The kids menu price was ridiculous for what you get: kids nachos are a plate of chips and cheese for 11.99, no toppings or drink, and it came out a few minutes after the adults' dishes. My food was fine and a fair value (combination dish of chimichanga + enchilada), but my partner asked for green sauce on his beef enchilada but received a super strange red cream sauce. Server was pushy about ordering dessert.
They had a big sign on the door stating "cash only", but were letting certain customers use cards. I understand swipe fees are high but I'd rather a business add a credit card surcharge then be deceptive.
The tables are decorative and cool.
Would not go back.

Pictured are the Plaza Mexicana Enchiladas and the Chicken Fajita Burrito. They did not disappoint. Not pictured are the chips and the real star: the salsa! The staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Salsa is okay, it has a kick to it.
The chips do not compliment salsa- they have a kind of burnt flavor to them. The chips and salsa could be elevated if the chips were lighter.

Tampaquiena: had good flavor but was drenched in the sauce.

Crispy chili Relleno: it was disgusting! It was crispy it was mushy. I cut it in half took a bite and it was like warm. It was served covered in lettuce.

I was so disappointed. I read the reviews of this place hoping for a good Mexican meal and was so let down. I am here on business and would never eat at this restaurant again.

Overpriced average Mexican food. Service was not great. Ambiance was average. Would not come here again

Quite expensive but very delicious dinners. Mixed drinks are overpriced. A side of sour cream for $3.99!

Our meals were delicious and the portions were huge. Three star rating is because I think they are seriously overpriced.

We were in town and did take out. The portions are huge. The food was good. We had leftovers. The takeout containers did a good job keeping the food warm. We didn't have to warm up the food when we got it home. It was an easy pick up and phone order. As we are from Texas we have had a better but it was ok.

To be honest when I arrived the place was packed! Sounded great with chatter....then we got the menu and wanted to order a top shelf margarita with pineapple addEd...... NO..only house!
Then we ask for extra lime with the HOUSE margarita...

.NO...only house margarita. We were happy to pay extra but it was NO!

Price..... outrageous for the food. It was fine dining prices for not even Taco Bell level food.

We have now named this place the Margarita Nazi!

The House Margarita was sugar water and cheap tequila! Trust me we went to the vehicle and got our own tequila so as not to waste the nasty 15.00 HOUSE MARGARITA!

Service was NOT even ok....
