Incredible gluten free crust!! I was so impressed by the gf crust! It is light, fluffy, and sooooooo delicious! I could just eat the crust like bread, forget the toppings! I am not sure how they do it, but it was such a wonderful surprise. A friend commented that the gf crust is so good it's hard to tell the difference between gf and non gf.
We ordered three different varieties (cheese, veggie, and meat) all of which were delicious. The crust is more Chicago style ( which is not my preferred) but the fact that it was so light and fluffy with structure just blew my mind.
I'm going to be recommending this place all day long!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 24, 2024
Bbq meets pizza. I like that there wasn't red sauce underneath. The Detroit crust was delicious and so was the bbq sauce. The chicken however didn't taste like typical grilled chicken. I wonder if it was because it's on pizza and not cooked separately.
I cannot speak to the ambiance or service as I got my pizza to go. I would consider trying a different pizza next time- possibly create your own.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2024
Phenomenal garlic bread! So lusciously cheesy and garlicky. Tried their pepperoni pizza, the original 'roni. It was pretty good but was beaten out by the garlic bread. The pizza had good flavor but is also quite heavy. It's delicious but it's a lot, definitely has the potential to give you a stomach ache if you don't know when to stop :P

We dined in here for the first time. The food and service were great!! We started with the wings, barbecue sauce. It was sweet and tangy. The #1 Best salad without croutons was a great blend of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and salad varieties. I believe the dressing was a banana pepper vinaigrette. Yummy!! The air quality index pizza was just delicious! The first was light and fluffy, which isn't typical for gluten-free crust. The pizza had broccoli rabe, artichoke, tomatoes, pesto, and olive oil. I got it without cheese. My husband had the meatmans pizza without cheese on a gluten-free crust. He really liked it. They also had some gluten-free desserts - a butter tart and a mini lemon Bundt cake. The cake wasn't as moist as it would like, but had good flavor. The tart was yummy. It had raisins in it and was very flavorful. They have several tables for seating. You clean up after yourself and bring your trash and trays to discard over by the utensils, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and oregano. The staff was amazing!! This will definitely be our pizza go to in the ROC!

I ordered a couple of build your own pizzas, the Busted Glovebox (Sausage, Ricotta, broccoli rabe) and Sgt. Tombstone (Supreme) along with some Buffalo wings (sauce on the side), and the Caesar salad, and #1 best salad. That salad was scrumptious!! It has roasted chickpeas and the banana pepper vinaigrette is a must try. My pizza was olive oil based with a gluten-free crust, mushrooms, broccoli rabe (yesss!!), onions, and a hot honey drizzle. That drizzle was everything. The wings are okay - nothing special. The lady who gave me my order was super kind. She even packed the salads separate from the wings. Pizza Wizard makes me want to go to the D with its Detroit style crust. They also serve cookies from a local baker (il have to try that next time). Go check out Pizza Wizard!!

I'm no expert on Detroit-style but if this is faithful example then count me in.
They serve single pan pizzas which are billed as "enough for one person" - my college student son and I each finished half of ours, so I'd say two people could split one if they were hungry.
The pizzas came out piping hot, and there was a wonderful gristly cheesy coating on the outside of the crust - my kid got a plain cheese but I got pepperoni with banana peppers and it was money.
Not much to say in terms of ambiance and service, but the patio outside was nice on a September evening.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - 1877277Jan 25, 2024
Stopped in very early on a Saturday morning. We were the only ones in the shop. They had a nice selection of slices to choose from but we wanted to get our own pie. Our food was made and ready in about 15 minutes. The staff brought the food out to us. We absolutely loved our meal! The wings are crispy and have such a tasty hot sauce. Easily some of my favorite wings in Rochester. The pizza was perfect. I can see why this was voted best pizza in the CITY magazine. Nothing but good things to say about our visit. The bathroom was very clean. The retro arcade games on site were a nice touch.

Amazing Detroit style pie. Super fresh and delicious! Worth the slightly high price per pie. However, stay away from the wings. Undercooked and slimy. Pizza Wizard!, Wing Acolyte :/

Great pizza is about texture first. Let me say that again. Great pizza is about texture! The toppings are in service to the dough/crust. Not the other way around.
Think of it this way: any fool can pile cheese and toppings on a shitty dough. That takes little to no skill. Anyone can make a tasty sauce or, at a minimum, buy a good quality "pizza sauce." It's not rocket science.
Delicious toppings can make a shitty dough edible. But without a great dough/crust, no pizza can ever be great. Without a great dough, no pizza can ever rise above "good but forgettable."
It takes skill, knowledge, passion, and sometimes years of tinkering and experimentation to make great dough that results in a great texture.
Pizza Wizard's square pies are a textural masterpiece.
Order whatever topping combo your little heart desires. You'll get a great pizza, no matter how foolish or wise your topping choices. That crust is freaking amazing. It elevates the toppings and cheese. That crust makes the toppings better, and that's how it should be. This pizza is all about that crust.
The bottom and sides of those thick slices are oh so crispy and crunchy. That crunchy layer is thin, and as you bite down, you'll hear that glorious crunch ringing in your ears. Then you bite through that thin crispy layer, and you're treated to a tender, moist, pillowy interior. Their pizza is thick, but it's light! Oh so light. Lastly, the flavorful toppings flood your palate, and you enter pizza heaven.
Eating a Pizza Wizard square is pure joy. Pure. Textural. Joy.Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 0
