We had a great experience in the Attleboro store. Everyone was friendly and helpful and not pushy at all. Upon installation, they did an excellent job and were on time. We ended up getting carpeting and vinyl flooring. They did such a nice job in our new home.

We had a great experience at their North Attleboro store last week. The staff was friendly and helpful. Matthew took time to come to our home the same day and we had an estimate in hand by day's end. We were on a tight schedule and they showed us what carpet they had in stock and what they could get delivered within a few days to meet our timeframe. Five days later we had new carpets installed!
They really went above & beyond to make it happen.
We highly recommend them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin D.Attleboro, MA05Jun 29, 2020
I had a great experience here at their Attleboro store. Everyone was friendly polite and very patient. I worked with David and his customer service skills were outstanding - a very naturally relaxed and friendly person. He wasn't pushy in the slightest and let me go at my own pace through the process of picking out samples and getting price quotes for me. He was upfront about every step of the process which helped me out a lot since I'm a first time homeowner and I have never done anything like this before.
On the installation end everything was great as well. I got wall to wall carpeting for the entire first floor of my house. They offer moving furniture from room to room at a per room charge and they did an excellent job of doing that and returning everything to it's original location after the job was done. They were in and out in a day, while I was at work, and I returned home to a beautiful and new carpeted house. Very pleased with every step of the process.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl L.Norwood, MA284Aug 4, 2018
Horrible! Go elsewhere! The salespeople are very nice & they sell good products (why they get 2 stars & not 1), unfortunately they are very disorganized, it took forever to get an estimate and installation date, they don't always show up when they say they will, the installation was a disappointment, and they simply don't do what they say they will. It's been over three weeks since my installation was suppose to be finished. Still not right. I give up. I'm having someone else finish the work. Save yourself a ton of aggravation and wasted time and go elsewhere!!!

This is what it's like dealing with the Payless Floors store in Walpole.
Week #1 -- I went in and picked out a new floor for my kitchen.
Week #2 --Still waiting for someone to come to measure the kitchen floor. Had to call their store to see why no one contacted me after I told the salesman I was interested in one of their flooring products and wanted to have someone come out and measure my kitchen. As I was leaving, the salesman told me "it will take a few days before someone gets back to you." By the end of the week there's still no call to set up a measuring appointment.
Week #3 I call the Walpole store on Monday to ask why I still don't have a measuring appointment and the salesman says he did not put in a request for an appointment. I again request an appointment. On Friday of this week, someone finally stops by to measure the floor. While he is here, I also ask for an estimate on hardwood for two different rooms and a stairwell.
Week #4 Still no estimate by Friday of this week. I call the store again to find out what is taking so long for an estimate when I've received estimates from other flooring companies in two days. The salesman tells me their estimator is "sick" but that will have my estimate by "next Monday."
Week #5 -- Monday comes ... no estimate. Tuesday comes -- no estimate. I call their Attleboro store. The guy who answers the phone tells me he has the estimate and will email it to me. The estimate never arrives until after yet another phone call. All together, the cost is well over $10,000 for three rooms of flooring and stairs.
I've waited over a month to get a simple estimate that should have taken two days to complete. Payless made up all kinds of excuses -- "the estimator was sick," "your estimate just got lost in the system," "it was the perfect storm of errors."
Sorry ... this was just poor business practices. It makes me think if they can't get the estimate back within a reasonable time, how will they act when they actually get the job?
If you want to deal with this kind of ineptitude be my guest. But don't say I didn't warn you.
By the way, I found the exact same flooring product just a few miles down the street at another flooring center. Maybe you should forget PaylessFloors and go elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl C.North Attleborough, MA053Mar 21, 2017
People I dealt with both at the store and at home were very nice. They emailed me my free
estimate that I thought was reasonable. I did have some questions. I called them and asked
the receptionist to please have someone call me, plus I answered the email to please call me
I had questions. No-one ever returned my call which I thought was very unprofessional. No matter how busy they were, I would think after a week someone would call. I finally called again and found out there were additional fees ($200) which was not on my estimate - very
disappointed and would not do business with them.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 7, 2013First to Review
Great staff and selection!! We did a new floor in our front room and they gave us a great deal on flooring they had in stock. The staff was very knowledgeable and walked us through a lot of different types of selections. They understood our budget and skill level and recommended a great product that was easy to install. They even accept returns on unopened boxes.

I went to the Payless showroom to confirm they had the engineered hardwood I needed to match the existing partial installation in the house I had recently purchased and to select the laminate I wanted for the basement. The staff at the store was available for questions but also knew to leave me alone to compare the many laminates they showed me. After narrowing down the options, I was able to borrow several full sized laminate floor samples to take home for a couple of days, which was crucial for matching the walls and nearby tile.
I got two bids, Payless was 10% more than the other but I went with them for two main reasons: they were local (the other company repeatedly stated how far away I was during the bid) and the installer was paid directly by them, allowing me full buyer's protection and frequent flyer miles by putting the entire purchase on my credit card. Payless did caution me that their installer was slow and meticulous, estimating 5 days for the three room job. They also suggested that I wait on painting the rooms since removal of the baseboards might damage them, but I had to paint a lot of rooms so agreed to touch up any marks as I needed to get started.
Although helpers showed up on the first day to rip out the carpeting in hopes of speeding up the install, it took 7 days to complete. The results are impressive. The installer was able to seamlessly match the new engineered hardwoods to the old, giving the impression that the entire first floor was done at the same time. He picture boxed the fireplace hearth with two rows of trim and mitered corners, it added that extra finishing touch. The laminate flooring in the basement also looked great, even in the closet! The installer barely left a mark on the newly painted walls, I had to really hunt to find places to touch up. He cleaned up after the job every day and took all his trash with him every day. He labelled the boxes of leftover hardwoods "old" and "new" for future repairs and left it with the left over boxes of laminate. He also made a trip back the day after the job was over to drive some screws into a porch post he noticed was not secured by a previous contractor I had hired to do some repairs.
I would recommend Payless for both the purchase of flooring and the installation, just give yourself plenty of time for the latter. Every friend, family member, and neighbor who has seen the finished job has been impressed and most importantly so am I.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - P S.Mansfield, MA06Jul 9, 2015
I was in the process of a home remodel and went to Payless for the purchase of hardwood flooring and carpeting. The staff there is extremely knowledgeable and really go the extra mile to provide a high level of customer service. I spoke to Dave S primarily and he always provided honest/candid feedback on all of their product offerings. I am very happy with the results of my remodel to this point and will shop there for other products in the future as I complete my household renovations
