I always come over here for a quick california roll to go and its always decent till one day i decided to come over and sit for lunch. It was 1130 in the morning lunch time..the lights were off inside but open sign was on.. so i was like weird, i went in anyways and was asked if im ordering to go. I said no, im eating here. So the chef turned the lights on, he was alone.. i ordered sashimi with rice. And what the HECK. I guess they werent expecting people ordering sashimi early as lunch time..but they serve me frozen fish, im talking about icesicles in your fucking fish. :( i was very disappointed. You couldve told me theres none available at the moment, but instead you decided that ill be fine chomping on some old frozen tuna...Never coming back to this place ever again. They should be ashamed to call themselves a "Japanese restaurant"

Great, excellent customer service. Very cost effective i started out w/ miso soup(routine), then i had the goyza they were excellent. For an entre i had the spicy tuna and the dragon rolls all were very good. The fish was tasty and firm. Only 4* cause the seats in the booths are a bit uncomfortable but i will definately return.

This place is kinda like a Japanese restaurant meets a diner. And I really like the concept - except I don't like the diner booth seating. But there's something satisfying about part of the kitchen being open in the restaurant and your chefs preparing food there for you to see.
But I have to say, I was really disappointed the calamari was all tentacle. Not a ring to be found. I personally feel one should be warned of this. A tentacle here and there is fine. Nothing but tentacles kinda isn't my thing. But....
I came for the sushi, though and I was impressed. The next closest place to find sushi in this area is Clarksville (at least according to Yelp), so if this place isn't for you and you want sushi....you'll have a long drive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anthony K.Midlothian, VA16282Apr 14, 2017
This chef makes a mean Shrimp Fried Rice. I occasionally visit Hoptown for business and always try to make my way here for lunch. The fried rice here is better than any place I've tried in my home town, Nashville. Hope to be in hoptown again soon...

We absolutely love Osaka. Food prepared fresh each time and you can watch the chef prepare it. Crispy Shrimp with garlic and scallions excellent and my favorite. Love the dressing on the house salad.

This looked like it used to be a Waffle House or Huddle House. The building is a little off for a Japanese joint, but I like to be able to see the kitchen area.....versus those shady Chinese restaurants of where you have no idea what is scuttling near your fried rice.
SERVICE:
Excellent!!! Seriously, our server was extremely polite, kept our drinks full, updated us on the status of our food, and even profusely thanked my soldier husband for his service. No military discount though, booooo.
FOOD:
I got the orange chicken which had real chicken meat, not the gummy stuff. It was great, and tasted fresh. DH had beef lo mein that he said was the best beef lo mein he had ever tasted. We also got some california and shrimp rolls. They were good, tasted as they should. Although, where I knocked a star off is I've had better.
VALUE:
Our bill was still under $30 (with sodas) so I say they're decently priced. The only gripe I had is that they went up a dollar or 2 on some of their sushi...they also have the new price etched over the old one in pen. Sorry, but they need to come up with a new sushi menu. That shows the owner's cheapness.
OVERALL:
We'll certainly be back the next time we're craving decent Japanese food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marisol Z.Van Nuys, CA1313Dec 18, 2015
The service was good and the food was ok at best. I will not be returning. The food was way over priced for the quality and quantity received. I had to take another star off my review since my waitress wrote in her tip when she presented our bill. I'm not sure if this is common practice for this restaurant, but I found that really strange.

The best Japanese food and sushi in Hopkinsville. My family eats there a couple times a week.

Excellent sushi and great staff. The name has changed, but this place rules. There was nobody here, and I'm shocked because the food and people were great and I didn't get food poisoning or anything. The atmosphere was the bomb-diggity and felt traditional, but I've never been to Japan.
