Ordered via DoorDash the Beef Pho, Drunken Noodle, Ginger Perfect, and Param Long Song.
I haven't tried the pho yet, but the Param Long Song with peanut sauce was delightful, and the Ginger Perfect was nicely aromatic. The Drunken Noodle wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped, but it was still a good amount of food for the price.
Note: The spice level is very tame. I ordered a Medium (anticipating Thai-level spiciness) and tasted absolutely no spice at all. They did mess up one thing on my order (sent with rice instead of the ordered noodles) so maybe the spice was an omission as well, but if you normally like heat, you'll want to ask for a higher spice level.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris R.Oceanside, CA073Feb 27, 2024
Just Meh. Nothing really exciting. Food tasted alright. Service was marginal at best, didn't seem to care I was there. Never got the drink I ordered. Won't be going back next time I'm in town.

the most bland pho soup I've ever had. The shrimp curry was a soupy mess of seasonings and 3 rubbery shrimp ($17).

We're in town for the night. Walked by this place, looked at the menu. We went right in for some authentic Chinese food.
It was great. I had the honey duck and my wife had the pad see ew.
I highly recommend this establishment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chanhong L.Roanoke, VA24029451Jan 21, 2023
Roanoke's Thai food scene has thankfully grown in the past 10 years. I remember coming to the city in 2011 with only one option, and it was horrible. Of the current options today, Oriental House is the first one I tried because it was the only one I saw during my research with a vegetarian menu. I had the pad thai, and it wasn't bad. It was more orange than normal but it tasted fine enough for me to order delivery from here in the future. My sister's pra ram jae tofu was also really good, so I was sold. However, when we ordered it for delivery, it didn't taste the same. The pad thai was also not that great the second time around. However, I did try the drunken noodles, and it was good so I kept ordering it. Unfortunately the last time I ordered it, I received barely seasoned noodles (see attached photo where I have separated the noodles from the vegetables). I can forgive them for using different noodles than the ones traditionally used for drunken noodles, but I can't forgive them for this. I have also tried other Thai restaurants in the area that have better food, and for that reason, I have demoted Oriental House to #3 on my list of best Thai Restaurants in Roanoke. It remains on the list because it is still a vegan-friendly option. My meat-eating mom also thinks their fried rice remains undefeated. It also remains a nice place to go downtown-my cousin walked in and used their bathroom once-maybe just don't order delivery from here. It was so empty when we went for Saturday lunch though.

Food: Overall, it was Ok. Presentation was lacking. Duck soup was supposed to have egg noodles, but had ramen noodles. Bean sprouts and onion garnish were completely missing. Soup looked gray.
Crispy duck was very tasty.
Steam dumplings were OK. Little to no seasoning or herbs. Served on a wilted mound of greens.
Service: Waitress seemed very nice but reserved. She moved slowly and didn't really welcome or engage us or other customers.
Interior: The space could be cool, but instead is a bit sad. Mismatched IKEA lights providing poor lighting and an odd selection of wall decor.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Blaise I.Roanoke, VA043Aug 5, 2022
I had very high expectations for this place before it was Fermos and the sushi here was the best in Roanoke now that it has changed to oriental house the quality has changed. I ordered the beef pho when it came out the noodles were completely stuck together the broth was nothing special either. My girlfriend got the pad tai and like the review above the noodles were orange and it tasted like peanut butter. The pad tai was also not very hot and was completely flattened at the bottom of the bowl.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal, especially for the price. Our group got Drunken Noodle, Pad See Ew, Miso, Chicken Satay and Pho and we all loved our orders. The food was well flavored and generously portioned. The thai tea is also really great.
Uncle Peter, the "second boss" (after his wife) of the restaurant is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Our group came in and he instantly felt welcome. He went out of his way to bring us food that he thought we liked and seemed to genuinely care about us. He genuinely enjoyed seeing us enjoy the food. This place is the #1 Thai place in Roanoke for good reason, an accolade he is very proud of.
Go for the great food, stay for Uncle Peter's great hospitality.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve L.Catlett, VA41127Jun 21, 2019
Wow! Just enjoyed the second-best Thai meal I've ever eaten. If you get a chance while in Roanoke to visit Oriental House Asian Cuisine
I heartily recommend the Spicy Seafood: sautéed shrimp, calamari, and other seasonal seafood with bamboo shoots, young peppercorn, bell pepper, and basil in asian paste. Peter, the Thai owner-manager, I believe, was amazingly friendly, funny, welcoming. Shawn and I were the last couple after a busy lunch rush, and Peter sat with us and shared a bit about running "Roanoke's #1 Thai restaurant" for 34 years, and encouraged us to visit his native Thailand; he is quite the ambassador/evangelist. Downtown Roanoke, in general, is awesome.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
