I was staying at an Airbnb right around the corner from this place and heard great reviews so I decided to stop by here for a drink and some small bites.
The atmosphere was great and the environment was extremely lively! It reminded me a lot of the pubs back in New York so I immediately felt like I was home.
The service was excellent and extremely friendly and I was taken back by how many choices of beer they had! I definitely had option paralysis when deciding which beer to get. I don't remember which one I actually got since my trip was almost 2 months ago but it was delicious.
I highly recommend stopping by this place for a chill and relaxing night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 5, 2016
Amazing beer selection. Good whiskey selection. Bar food to the max and high quality variety of whiskeys. Bar tenders are super knowledgable and friendly. Great place. Good ambiance. Cool people. Locals mostly and some tv's for a local football game
Amazing oxcheeek with potato purée and local greens. What a beautiful smell and fennel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily K.Los Angeles, CA282398979Dec 9, 2016
I guess you can take this review with a grain of salt because I didn't try any of the beers offered in their veeery extensive collection. We had wine! Hah. I'm mostly writing this review and giving this place 5 stars because our bartender was so awesome! He was beyond friendly and gave us awesome recs of things to do/places to check out. (We didn't get your name, but thank you!)
I also really enjoyed the vibe of this place - it seemed like the crowd was a good mix of locals and expats...and then a few like us, tourists! The food looked great, though we didn't end up dining here.
So if you love beer (or wine) and want to pair it with some traditional bar/Swedish food, this would be a great spot for you to try during a visit to the Sodermalm neighborhood of Stockholm. Make conversation with the bartenders and hopefully you get to know the guy who was ours!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Louis R.Jersey City, NJ23712177884Jul 9, 2018
When Louis R is in Sweden, he looks for bars that have a chill outdoor area as well as a shit ton of local beer options on tap rotation.
Oliver Twist has the requisite elements. There are like 9 tables outside to people-watch while you delve into the local Swedish beers.
The burgers are huge and totally deelish.
The street it faces is calm and less touristy that the street one block over.
Be like Louis R, drink and eat in Sweden.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Paul C.Evergreen, Memphis, TN566Oct 26, 2019
Cosy pub atmosphere with a good selection of draft beer and surprisingly good food for a pub.
Being in Sweden, it doesn't get really higher than 5-6% alcohol, there is none but one 8% degree beer, it's called the maya and is worth checking out.
Will return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julia S.Berkeley, CA1178Aug 12, 2020
I love the beer selection here and the actions they have taken to keep everyone safe in these corona times. But the women tending bar today was outright rude. I was shocked since they are usually very nice and helpful. To bad!

Beer Stop 134
----
This is the second best beer bar in Stockholm. However, heres the advantage of Oliver Twist - the food is just a smidge better then Akkurat. If you are out with non beer lovers, this is a much better bet then Akkurat.
Lets get down to the beer - the tap list is small, only about 14 beers or so. The tap list is so so - there are quite a few English ales, quite a few US beers, but only small number (about 2) local beers. The bottle list is where you want to focus, they have everything you could ask for there. In fact, they had quite a few American IPA's , which I was quite surprised about. that being said, there may only be a few beers you havent tried if coming from the states.
Service is friendly and the crowd is local. I don't think we heard a word of English the few times we had lunch here.
PS - Oliver Twist is the only beer spot open for lunch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rod S.Tulsa, OK1030034Oct 11, 2017
One of my favorite places in Stockholm. We went twice in one week and that is a rarity when we travel.
They had an uncountable number of beer taps and the guy that was pouring them knew every one. He was able to lead us through a succession of the next beer complementing the last one.
The first time I had the fish chowder and got a taste of the fish and chips. Both were large portions of piping hot and delicious food. The chowder was full of large chunks of salmon, cod, mussels, and even more that I couldn't specifically identify. I highly recommend it. It was the taste of the fish and chips that caused me to return at the end of the week. I can't tell what made the fish so tasty and attractive, but the flavor was just spot on, the fish cooked perfectly, and again plenty of food.
During the day, they have a large pot of boiling hot dog sausages with an accompaniment of buns, mustard and whatever makes a good hotdog. These were complimentary bar snacks that fit in perfectly while you try that first beer and decide what you have from the menu. They were a perfect treat.
The bartender was great and the people inside seemed to be a good mix of locals and other tourists that had discovered this place.
I highly recommend this place. We also went to their other location, akkurat, and it was great as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katie K.Dearborn, MI21957Aug 14, 2016
A nice beer bar in a cool part of Stockholm. They have 20+ beers on tap from all over the world. They also serve spirits and wine, yet most people were enjoying pints. There is a nice outdoor seating area, yet this area closes before the inside bar does. Bar closes at 1am sharp. Good mix of people inside- all ages, locals and some tourists. I'd recommend this place to beer lovers who want to explore Sodermalm.
