We always stay here when we come to Wichita; it's inexpensive, clean and has everything we need right near everything.
The staff have always been super friendly and accommodating; we usually check in early and almost always get in around 11am (check in isn't until 3 pm). This time we didn't get to check in until around 2 pm but the young lady at the front desk was so sweet it wasn't that big of deal.
The rooms are older but have always been clean, and the a/c works great, even if it is a little noisy. The water pressure in the showers has always been awesome and it's never been noisy. Maybe the people who stay here are just quieter? lol
All the rooms have an inside entrance and there is an elevator which is very nice!
It's a very safe area in close proximity to just about everything, except for maybe the airport, but really it's not much more than a 30 minute drive during rush hour.
So if you want a decent, clean and inexpensive place to stay, definitely try here!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Taleasha T.San Francisco, CA01Nov 2, 2020
Whoever the man is that was working 11/2/2020 at night was rude as hell. I was trying to get a room for my brother & he said rudely oh you can't do that & threw my Id. I haven't got a room down here in Wichita in a long while so I am out of the loop with that. But hopefully this matter gets addressed. But other than that it didn't get as far as rating a room.

If you appreciate:
-scary people hanging around the motel
-rooms that reek of animal urine, cigarettes, and barf
-filthy carpets with old spills that could be anything from barf to food to animal feces
-unsafe feeling
-cheap rates & free wifi & nice gal in the office
...then this place if for you! Enjoy!
I had to change rooms the first one smelled os horribly.
It had a lot of guests that looked like long-time residents: barbecues set up in front of rooms, multiple pets in the window, window coverings in various states of disrepair...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2014
We stopped in here as an emergency from a sleet storm a few weeks ago. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and serviceable but there was just something a little seedy about the property. Like it needed some paint and some Lysol. It is not in a questionable part of town but access to the property can be odd to the unintiated. I would stay here again if I had to.

I gave it 4 stars because everytime I visit Wichita, I always stay there.
I've never had a problem with anything everytime I've stayed. Its always been clean and the hotel staff has been extremely nice.
I recently just stayed at this one and had a problem with one of the ACs not working in the room and the lady at the front desk was reallllly nice about it and just moved me to another room.
Its nothing fancy like Hampton Inn or anything but its nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Samantha W.Albuquerque, NM122Aug 8, 2013
It looks clean upon first inspection, but we were fooled. We stayed in a room that looked like someone may have been murdered in the bed-the blood stains on the naked box spring and under the sheets were pretty nasty. I inspected the mattress for bed bugs & am still not sure if it was clean or not. The shower/bathroom was a small small joke. Water goes everywhere when you turn the shower on except the shower head. I've seen fluffier pancakes than the pillows were given to sleep on. I'm never staying at any Motel 6 again. This was my first & last time. What a waste of some hard earned money.

Okay, so we came to Wichita for a vacation to visit family & stayed here because the rates were cheap, good neighborhood and from all outward apearances, from afar, it looked decent. We were fooled. First we were told we couldn't check in early due to the motel double booking rooms in a single day so the room wouldn't be ready before 3pm. Obvious illegal activities going on in and around this building besides management all but saying it. The rooms were tiny, horrible furniture, nasty smells, stains on the walls that looked like blood, cigarette burns on the bathtub & the free WiFi didn't work. complained, the manager moved us rooms closer to the WiFi router. Room two: same problems, plus the toilet doesn't work. When we tell the front desk, the manager comes up in his socks to fix the toilet after locating the plunger (by this time, its 10pm.) He then procedes to ask us to take our dog outside so he can fix the toilet. He fixes the toilet and leaves. By this time we are very unhappy & discusted with our accommodations & service, but exhausted from a 12hr drive in the car so we decided to sleep & talk to management in the morning about getting a discounted rate for our stay. In the morning we talk to the front desk, the guy has to call the manager to ask if he can do anything besides move our room again or just refund the rest of our money. The manager by this time is not very pleasant when he talks to us, saying all he is going to refund is $10 for the first night because he was "attacked." Not wanting to deal with the drama we decide to take the $10 & the full refund for the rest of our stay. He refunds the rest of the stay and $2 for the first night. We pack up the car, go return the room keys & ask the managers name to make a formal complaint. He had taken his business cards from the front desk and the clerk wouldn't release his name or the managers name to us. We will NEVER stay at another Motel 6 again.

Well...we survived but it's dirty, tiniest rooms we have ever seen. Scary people in the neighborhood. They did not leave the light on (or the a/c for that matter and it was a 100 degree day).
