Monty Hall

When I die, bury me under the floorboards of Monty Hall.

Last month, I went to Monty Hall to see a WFMU show featuring A. Savage (from Parquet Courts). The venue is within walking distance of the Exchange Place PATH station. I took the train to get here and the walk is a straight shot down Montgomery. Our friend was coming from Manhattan to meet us at Monty Hall. It was her first trip into Jersey and she said it was easy for her to find the place.

When you enter the place, you'll see merch setup towards your left and the ticket collectors to your right (at least, that's how it was set up that night). There's a hallway that leads you to the back of the place where you'll see the stage.

It's an intimate space, but there are a couple of monitors on the right wall people who aren't so close to the stage. I ended up watching some of the show on the screens because it got crowded upfront. The venue's acoustics are very good; it really doesn't matter where you stand in the space. The sound guy(s) had things in check that night. In short, Monty Hall is a good place to see music acts.

I've been here a handful of times and it's always fun! I've seen live music, comedy shows, film screenings and speaker events here. Staff and hosts are always super pleasant & friendly. Can't wait to return!

Went here for a show last night and it was great. It's very small but, nice. The place and the bathrooms were clean. Water was just a buck. It even had TV's for the people in the back. (They didn't use them but, they could have) The sound was good. I'd come back for a show.
