Ordered take out was told 20mins-went there to get it. They don't have the order. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Won't be ordering from here anymore, what a shame can't order local anymore.
-on top of that they gave us the wrong food anyway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - D M.FL, FL0149185Aug 5, 2022Updated review
Back for the ninth year.
This is my happy place. The food is outstanding.
And they brought back the lobster/corn rigatoni.
Eddie is behind the bar. More importantly John is still here too.
Great guy ... and one of the reasons I keep coming back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 25, 2020Previous reviewBack in NY for three weeks. Completed quarantine yesterday, had our sights set on one place - MJD.
No pretense, just good food and good people.
First Friday night out in months - wouldn't go anywhere else while out east.Oct 6, 2017Previous reviewOne of my favorites.
Always good.
Always comfortable.
Burger, steak salad cooked to perfection. Love the Pine Neck with Jack instead of Swiss.
Teriyaki boneless wings are a new favorite.

Burger, steak salad cooked to perfection.Dec 12, 2015Previous reviewToday we're started with the potato skins stuffed with pulled pork and topped with muenster cheese. It had a kick so there must be chilies in there too.
They must have some sort of evil genius working in the kitchen.Aug 21, 2015Previous reviewBourbon rib special was very good. Sweet sauce over nicely charred ribs.
Scallop special with grilled veg is delicious. Portobello is really good.
Can't beat the prix fixe chicken.Oct 11, 2014Previous reviewWent for the pri fixe roast chicken. Really good. Deboned half chicken with mashed and vegetables in a light gravy.
Includes salad and dessert.
Great deal.Sep 6, 2014Previous reviewGreat chicken and mashed potatoes.
Lobster and local corn rigatoni was fantastic.
Pasta nice and al dente.Jul 6, 2014Previous reviewBest burger on the east end.
For $9.
Came back for an amazing lobster BLT.
Now back for another. - E J.Frederick, MD34250Mar 4, 2024
The food lacks appeal. Mashed potatoes are made from a package. Food is overpriced & poorly made. The service was pushy & rude. The ambiance is nicer than the service.

Inviting atmosphere but poor food quality. When you think of a tavern you expect easy food, but good food. It's very evident this place has gone downhill in the past couple of years. $32 for a "cheddar waffle" that was clearly cooked too long. Hard, brick like exterior with a bland taste. The chicken was coated in an oat cereal. Tough, and bland. With the audacity to charge $32 for a dish that is barely edible is a crime. So much potential but lost simply to the lack of effort or care.

Excellent food and service! We come here often and it's the perfect spot if you're looking for good, elevated comfort food. Very homey environment and a perfect place to watch the game, without it being too loud. They also have live music some nights.
The fajitas, salads and fries are some of my favorites, but the buffalo chicken pizza is the best I've ever had!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sydney A.Sag Harbor, NY39494109Sep 11, 2022
First time in last night and already can't wait to go back! Every dish that we ordered was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Baby back ribs were tender, burger was juicy and flavorful and the shrimp poboy was so tasty. Onion rings are a must but make sure to share because they are filling. Didn't try dessert but we absolutely will next time. Loved the casual vibes and friendly service. As a local I can't wait to come all year round.

Pretty disappointed in my take out order tonight: clam chowder and a Caesar salad= $29.00. The salad was really skimpy and I get twice as much soup and a really good Caesar salad at The Corner Bar for about the same price.

Went for dinner at 7pm having made and confirmed reservation on Open Table. When we got to the restaurant it was closed with no explanation.
