I asked my husband to pick up carnitas from El Patron as I have been following the page on social media for some time now and the food looks appealing.
My husband arrived just after 9 AM today (08/20) and waited 45 minutes to leave empty-handed. Mind you, I checked their social media to confirm they were open, and according to their Instagram, they were cooking/chopping up carnitas at 7 AM per the timing on the Instagram post, false advertisement?

Hi Veronica, Thank you for providing your feedback. Im sorry to hear about your experience. We have a Carnitas and Chicharron Schedule as soon as they come out they sell out. I would recommend to call ahead of time. We start prepping since 7;00am. I hope you come back and give us another try. Or perhaps order through Doordash you will not be dissapointed. This place had a line out the door when we pulled up. There is a good reason for that kind of line. This place was amazing, from the service to the food, the food was outstanding, a flavor explosion in your mouth with every bite. I had the Chilaquiles Burrito, as seen on 209 Times. One of the top 5 Burritos I've ever had. I highly recommend you try them and support our local businesses.

Driving home from Yosemite we came to Stockton CA and we were craving Tacos. A quick search and Micheladas El Patron came up. Awesome tacos with 100% home butchered meats. Authentic out of the ordinary tacos with fresh meats. When was the last time you ate lengua de vaca tacos? Superb! Totally worth the few minutes off the highway into historic Stockton for the real Mexican food.

Guests at the party hadn't heard of this place and were like why did you go there instead of "fill in the blank"??? Let me tell you...EVERYONE enjoyed them and apologized for saying I should've gone elsewhere! They were delicious tacos as were the chips & salsa!. Highly recommend!!

I am sorry to hear about your recent experience with us. We are aware of the long lines and wait times we are doing everything we can to get everyone as fast as we can. Typically our wait time is only about 10-15 min on a regular business day right now due to us accepting Snap for hot food only until Feb 20th our wait time is longer than expected. In regards your last paragraph I would like to know more details I will also send you a direct message. We make everything on the spot everything is fresh I promise you nothing is packaged. We have our most recent inspection report you can find online we follow Food Safety and take this very seriously. Good and bad reviews helps us grow and we definitely have work to do I have shared this review with our team. We hope you give us a try another time in the future and try different things on our menu that I’m sure won’t disappoint. Have a good nightFeb 11, 2023Previous reviewI wanted to like this place so much, I seriously did. I love the vibe and the warmth emanating from the elderly sir that's the owner I'm assuming, and the long line of waiting customers. I wanted to be impressed so much. Unfortunately that was not the case. I have yet to find a taqueria in Stockton that hits the spot in quality and taste consistently like my favorite spot in San Mateo called Pancho Villa but thats another review.
Glows: The presentation, plenty of sauce and lime was a great surprise.
Grows: The wait time was ridiculous. I was promised 30, it ended up being about 45 minutes and I had to check it instead of having them check in and let me know it would be longer. The quality of the food did not warrant this wait time as almost everything was taken out of a package and thrown on to a tortilla.
Shrimp empanadas. I wasn't informed that there was other meat in the empanada. Smaller than described but tasty. The sauce was good. The highlight of this visit.
Veggie Burrito- Probably on the worst burrito list for me. Overcooked rice, no seasoning, the cucumbers was an unpleasant surprise in a cacophany of oddly shaped cut vegetables, but the worst was the nasty unmelted cheap cheese. The cold cheese, cucumber and lettuce did not blend well with the warm part of this burrito.
Shrimp Tacos: Shrimp had way less flavor then expected. I hated that the taco could not be held properly because of an abundance of vegetables that made the taco soggy and gross.
Whatever was in the food or in the preparation of it gave us a mean head ache, vomiting galore, and a commitment to never venture out to unknown waters again.

You can't go wrong with ordering anything from the menu but will. I come from out of town just for the food! It's worth it. Menudo is one of my favorites! Has a little spice to it but good. They a large Butchers Kitchen to cook the Carnitas, Menudo, Chicharrones and others. No fountain drinks purchase by the bottle only.

Parking lot is small and was a bit challenging due to sharing with a laundry mat and everyone doing laundry on Sunday. We got lucky and someone was leaving.
Menudo - weekend special. Did not disappoint. Authentic flavored broth packed with tripe. Corn tortillas were hearty and homemade.
Chilaquiles con Bistec - Nice portion of grilled bistec served on crispy thick pieces of chips. Loved the thick chips so that it didn't get soggy with the spicy green sauce.
Queso Tacos con Birria - delicious and packed full of Birria meat with melted cheese. So good!
Carne Asada Tacos - Delicious street tacos with plenty of carne asada.
Friendly staff and fast service. Definitely a place to return for eats.

Neira A.Stockton, CA175103327Oct 29, 2022Ordered through DoorDash yesterday in the afternoon. Horchata- delicious! Frijoles y arroz- BOMB- so good. Salsas- perfect.
Chicharron-seemed day old- very very dry, and the shrimp empanadas were CRAZY salty, only able to eat half of one. Sadly tossed the other 5 1/2 out after taking a little bite of eat to see if I was trippin'; I wasn't. I would maybe try this place in person. I was disappointed, but they have other things I would give a chance to try. MAYBE.

Honest to god hands done the best burritos I ever ever had! Me and my boyfriend both have agreed doing laundry next door is so worth it cause we started picking up a burrito everytime from here! Not only is the food amazing but the employees and owner are so nice and helpful, worth every single penny you spend here
