I was surprised. To say looking at the building from the street that the food would be good may be questionable. Walking inside the dining room was place was clean, the food looked fresh, organized. The food itself was really good. Maybe even one of the better buffets in town. Both the wait staff and customers were really nice. For sure I am coming back. If you like a nice Chinese buffet try this one. You may be as surprised as I was by the quality of food.

It's always a hit or miss with these guys. Ordered delivery from here a few times. Sometimes it is like, ok the food is not bad for what you pay and the other times it is like why do I waste money on this stuff. Shrimp from my recent order was stinking as if it has been sitting outside for a few days. Chicken wings are always good and their entrees are not bad actually. I just wish they could pay attention to the quality of their food and stay consistent.

Tremendous improvement since my first visit! Fast service and good food at a moderate price. My vehicle broke down (starter went out) in their parking lot and they could not have been nicer. Thank you!

It starts with the hostess coming to the door, and silly me I was thinking she was opening the door for me... NO, she walks right past me and started fidgeting on a smart phone... OK... I briefly looked inside and thought twice again... however after a few seconds delay I made the decision to go in. I was caught in no man's land, no hostess, no sign to sit yourself, so I did what every man does and continued to move forward. I scanned the entire place and it was huge, filled with laborers, cackling women, and just people eating! I spotted a table and went for it. Halfway there a waitress appears and guides me to the spot I picked out and asks what am I going to drink (or so I think) and disappears never to be seen again. Well I have a pretty good handle on how a buffet works, so I grab a plate and start walking around the numerous steam tables in the middle of the room.
I gotta tell ya that although it looked kinda sketchy at first, the food looked fresh and tasty. I did notice one lady frantically stirring all the items, cleaning and wiping down spills, whilst finding time to bring out more fresh cooked food. We here goes nothing.
I started with wonton appetizers covered in a slamming sauce and a bowl of hot and sour soup. Yea it was 92 degrees outside but that soup looked great and it was great when accompanied by those wontons. Then I went for my first course, which had a small sampling of some sushi, egg roll, fried shrimp, sweet and sour chicken (sauceless), beef and broccoli, green beans and a few more wontons. Honestly, I can tell you that each item was hot and tasty with the exception of the eggroll, which tasted like nothing... that was disappointing but the other items picked up the slack for that slug egg roll. I also picked up some hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce and they provided the right balance of tangy and sweet. Since I started small, I figured I stay on the small portion side so I went back for round two, which consisted of chicken and broccoli, fried shrimp, fried rice, chicken on a stick, and a chicken wing. All items were good, well sort of. It seems there is always one dog item and this time it was the fried shrimp. They tasted more like batter than shrimp. If that was not enough to slide down my gullet, I saw they also had a Mongolian Grill set up and I prepared a very small portion of vegetables cooked in garlic and oil. DELICIOUS! OH and on my way back to the table some more wontons fell on my plate... how'd that happen? To top off the entire bacchanal, I had a wonderful tasting large glass of unsweet tea and I was enroute to dream land (nap) when I got home. They also had a desert and salad station but I passed on that stuff.
All that said regarding the food, the place really could use some TLC, dried out fish tanks were in the dining room, the restroom was archaic and nasty, the walls in the dining room could us a good coat paint or even power washing, some of the ceiling tiles really needed changing and the kicker was they were selling duck eggs next to the cashier. WTH? The only thing missing was chickens and pigs running around inside. To be honest though I have eaten in worse places who provided worse food.
It's almost 21:30 hours and I still have not had, Lord I hope I am not speaking to soon, any issues with my stomach and still feel quite full. My last comment is the physical location, although I thing going in for lunch is OK, I would be extremely cautious of trolling around this area at night. You be the judge why. I for one plan to go back some time after riding myself of some of this food. In reality this place should be rated 3.5 Stars. I hope they make some investments into the physical location at some point. If they did they could be a solid 4 Stars. No pictures of the Mongolian Grill were taken, because I was to full to work the camera. Best to all - Yasmine J.AL, AL035Nov 6, 2022
Okay so I have to admit when I go to a Chinese buffet there are only 4 things I eat from there. if those 4 things aren't good then it fails lol but with that being said I liked the angle noodles and the fried chicken if they had some hot sauce hell yeah that would of been extra delicious lol but over all not bad tbh. It was definitely good enough for me to go back again. I Didn't take pictures I honestly forgot because I was so hungry. All in all I'd give it about a 3 out of 5 because I didn't like the white rice it wasn't as flavorful as I expected it to be. With that being said Overall I would eat there again!

Come for the crab, stay for the tong fencing.

My son ate lunch there today around 12. He has been sick coming from both ends about 3 hours later after eating there . Pretty sure food poisoning. Hope we don't have to make a ER visit .

Questionable food and area. Needs a deep cleaning or two, maybe several. Me and my husband ate there and as soon as we walked to our car our stomach was churning lol food is definitely NOT FRESH.

Husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch about a month ago. We did not like it and couldn't find our waitress for the ticket. We went up to the cashier to pay who then started yelling across the room to our waitress. The cashier and the waitress had a heated exchange after which the cashier looked at us and said "you did not eat enough". Turns out, it was our fault that the waitress had not delivered the ticket because we left quicker than the average customer. First trip was last trip
Saw the crab incident on the news. Was telling my sister in California about it. She already knew because the tv stations in California were broadcasting the story. Nationally infamous.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Allen D.Huntsville, AL01Apr 23, 2021
I have eaten there ever since they opened. I have missed the times they were not allowed to open because of the virus.
During all that time I have never seen a hair Pubic or other. No flies or bugs ever.
I wonder if the competition is concerned because of the hard work and effort the Meteor Buffet staff put into pleasing the customers. Surely they won't post false stories or at least I hope not.
I ate there tonight and I believe the food was better than usual.
I watched and saw nothing that distracted from the excellent meal. It was busy but I did enjoy some conservations with other close by. We all appreciated the good food and the attention shown to us but their staff.
I will be back.
I have been to other businesses and I enjoyed their food also but I believe the Meteor is my first choice. I watched closely and I never saw one Pubic hair. As a matter of fact I don't recall ever seeing Pubic hairs mention in a review before. Shame of you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
