Mastro's Steakhouse

Where do I really event start? I came here for a birthday celebration, and was pleased with each step of the process.

Although we arrived late, the hostess honored our reservation. We were able to sit at the bar until our entire party arrived.

The food was amazing! I had the filet mignon and add shrimp. The sauce that they used for the sautéed shrimp was delicious. The Mac and Cheese was so good! Other sides we ordered included, mashed potatoes, and asparagus.

Things to note: The sides are big enough to share with 3-4 people. If dining here with a group, I'd recommend that each person orders a protein, but order 3 sides for the table.

I can't wait to come back! Definitely give this place a try.

Pricey but the most quality meal and service around. My husband and I love coming here for celebratory dinners because the ambiance is perfect for us. They have live music at least on weekends and even the bar area offers a fancy dining experience but with a more casual feel.

Saturday dinner here while visiting the city for a few days. Made reservations, then confirmed them the day of, and we ubered checking in about 20 minutes before our reservation. After a short wait we were sat and immediately handled by the waiter. Larger taller man, reminded me of a younger Uncle Phil.

Anyway - Very busy and loud, plus they had live music which usually makes me cringe, but the music wasn't bad.

Ordered a couple of starters: burrata, and french onion soup. Let me back up: THE PORTIONS ARE MASSIVE. Read that first.

The burrata they split into two plates, both with a while tomato quartered and a small ball of burrata. Would much rather have equal parts of cheese and tomato - cheese was good though.

The soup wasnt bad - lots of cheese and bread to it. Which reminds me - the table bread was very good - several types and options. Very good start.

I ordered a 12oz bone-in filet, and we shared brussel sprouts, scalloped potatoes and mac and cheese. See above: PORTIONS ARE MASSIVE. Brussel sprouts were kind of slimy, but the mac and cheese was good and the scalloped potatoes were prepared like a lasagna and very flavorful.

Steak was good - cooked properly medium.

Dessert we shared the chocolate sin cake which... was the tiniest thing probably on their menu. Kind of a disappointing end to the meal.

Overall good - waiter disappeared on us at times. But still solid.

Definitely worth a visit!
We made a reservation on open table for my sister's birthday.
This place has a dress code, it's In midtown so street parking is challenging but not impossible and parking garages are available also ride share or metro is available.

Nice welcome, quick check in barely a wait, lovely establishment with lovely contemporary dark intimate decor. With 2 floors, 2 bars quaint dining experience.

Julian our server was very nice, we all enjoyed our meals. Even my 9 year old niece enjoyed her chicken tenders and fries.

From their cocktails to the main entrees they had some great options. Let me be silly for a moment....those garlic mashed potatoes (tongue out) yum!

Had a great evening at Mastro's. Ambiance was dark, loud steakhouse vibe. Wait staff Ronnie was spot on delivering a perfect birthday evening. Seafood tower was amazing as was the filet. We will gladly return next trip.

First time here. On our way to a show at radio City. The service is phenomenal. Even the bathroom attendant Wanda is wonderful. Food is amazing. I cant wait to go back. Highly recommend the ribeye. It was like butter. Opened with wedge salad and shrimp cocktail. Cant say enough. My only negative comment is that because I was going to a show I could not wrap up what was left and bring it home. Lol. Will definitely be back!

I love a good steakhouse and Mastro's nailed it!

Met some family members here for a wonderful meal. This is a perfect place to celebrate a major birthday or milestone, but be warned it's not for the faint of pocket - lol.

We started with a bottle of Pinot Nior which was delicious and got the mood started off right. They had a live singer which was really good and the restaurant is very pretty (even the restroom).

I had the bone-in ribeye and we all shared sides (mac and cheese, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts). Not only was my steak HUGE, it was a perfect MEDIUM which I was so happy about because most places will give it to me medium well or well done.

We ended dinner with a dessert plate of cheesecake and butter cake with ice cream since we were celebrating a birthday.

If I had to give one negative is that the service was slooooooowwwwwww. In fact we waited quite a while to get the bottle of wine. One person in my party ordered a cocktail and the bar service just sat the drink on the table - didn't announce what is was and just walked away (there was five of us so we had to figure out who it belonged to).

Overall though it was a great meal and I would love to go back again!

I like Matro's for their martinis, but the food was below average the last visit.

The steak was very much underdone. Added the king crab topper to the steak and it didn't taste like anything and arrived looking like shredded imitation crab used in California rolls. Definitely not worth $75 add on.

The bone marrow and lamb chops were good.

I've been to this places a couple of times. It's quite nice. Good steaks and fish. And we got a table immediately. So I satisfied overall. Nice old fashioned restaurant.

I truly enjoyed my dining experience at Mastro's and I'd recommend this fine dining experience for birthdays, anniversaries or any celebration ! The steak was tender and the salmon was seasoned to perfection. The calamari wasn't on the menu but one of the special appetizers they had the night I went.

The address given does not drop you off in front of the restaurant but instead across the street/down the block.

First time coming here for my best friend's birthday. I like that they let you book online for large groups. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and is considered upscale but please be forewarned that dress code is definitely not upheld. When I tell you people came in whatever... BELIEVE ME. Overall, the customer service was top notch with the exception of the hostess that checked me in. She was nasty for absolutely no reason. The food was good and in my opinion standard steakhouse fare. The sides are shareable so keep that in mind when ordering. I really enjoyed the drinks, and if I came back it would to be just sit at the bar. Definitely a safe spot for a group dinner, birthday, special occasion or a date night.
