Q:
Do they accept cashless payments?
A:
Yes they do. I think you may have to spend at least $10? It's been a while since I was there so I'm not sure if that amount has changed.

This is a small place in a small strip mall in Carson. The small staff was attentive and friendly, which made me like the place more. I ordered the Sisig, which was fattier than I expected, but the taste was great. I also ordered their siopao (bao). These tasted good, but were very large and had too much "breading."
I liked what I got, and it is a great little place to stop in for lunch.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jason U.Carson, CA129143122May 5, 2024Updated review2 check-ins

This neighborhood has a lot of Filipino restaurants to choose from! Love it here!
We were all craving arroz caldo and this place popped up on Google maps.
It wasn't a bad price for it. Around $8 and they give a large amount! It lasted me two days. It has meat, boiled egg, and tofu.
I also ordered pork sisig. Yum! It usually has mayo in it, but this one didn't. Still delicious! A good amount to share with one other person.
The young woman at the counter was nice. The order was ready quickly! Probably around 10 minutes.
I would come back to try other stuff from the menu.Helpful 12Thanks 1Love this 12Oh no 0 - Nadja G.Mission Viejo, CA01Apr 12, 2024
If I could give it 0 stars I would. The previous time we got food from them was exactly a year ago, when I had such a lackluster experience with the food. Buuut, nostalgia got the better of me.
Fast forward a year later, and here I am again, like going back to an old lover hoping to rekindle the (old) flame.
So, I ordered by phone and eagerly picked up my order, resisting the animal urge to devour the siopao in the car, nevermind if the people inside the laundromat next door were ogling this old lady about to ravage a big white bun.
First off: six (6) siopao buns, three (3) of each kind- bola-bola and pork asado.
- overall, I can honestly say, mediocre at best
- the bola bola itself was rubbery and the rest of the ingredients, dry, particularly the sausage and the salted duck egg, the yolk crumbly and all
- the pork asado meat was on the sweet side, but the bun was fluffy, white, cloud-like pillowy soft as per usual
Second order: the mami, Filipino-Chinese style noodle soups that harken the days of old Manila:
1st order Wonton-
- the quantities were questionable, like 3 tiny pieces and with a super baby-side shrimp as tiny as hibe
- wonton wrappers were past being disintegrated.
- soup was mushy from the wonton wrappers,
- the actual broth was so bland and watery
Ok, on to the second order: Wonton-Beef combination mami
- this is the part where I would go, "but wait, there's more!"
- first off, the beef brisket- not only was it sinewy and dry, kind of like corned beef meat, which makes me think this was from an old batch of beef;
- the brisket pieces were sooo minuscule! If you can imagine a 2-inch chunk of a brisket, cut that into 4 quarters, et voila! brisket pieces as small as a Knorr cooking cube, I kid you not!
- ok time for the wontons in the soup base, and you guessed it right! Exactly like the one above, you know, with the mushy, disintegrated wrapper, and with a single measly in this combination Mami! You have got to be kidding me!
- the beef soup was on the sweet side with a flavor 5-spice powder coming through; it also tasted like a couple of days old, to be honest, and with the pathetic dice meat swimming in it
Coming up next, Beef Mami
- noodles were soooo soft, I wish I asked for it to be half cooked for some bite and bounce
- the brisket meat, same story as above
You know the saddest part about this incredible food sojourn? Let me count the ways:
- #1- making the trek to Long Beach/Carson all the way from Laguna Hills, just so I could satisfy my craving, noo, more like deep, nostalgic longing for the previously STELLAR and DELIGHTFUL Mami King
- #2- the astonishing bill of a $100!
Tell me this wasn't highway robbery in all sense of the word?
Dear Mami King owners, please, please, please don't let the economy take its toll on us your loyal, beloved, and rabid fans of your delicious food.
I was on the fence writing this honest review of my experience with their food, but, I wanted to share my dismal experience, to appease my disappointment.
The front of the house staff was good, but the restaurant itself was ramshackle, with dilapidated fixtures and 60's era lighting and random posters and signs.
Sigh... I wanna go back though! Back to the times when the place had seen better days, and the food had tasted like home (both in Manila and Carson).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victor L.Pasadena, Los Angeles, CA821633Jan 19, 2024

Mami King is a true delight! I've been going here for around a year and its a place I'll keep on coming back to!
If you want a dish rec i recommend the Lechon Kawali. It is absolutely tender and soooo flavorful. I love its crispy skin that's irresistible!!!! The authentic Filipino dishes and cozy ambiance make it a must-visit spot. Highly recommended!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 9870223Mar 11, 2023
The best thing about this place is that the food feels like home. So so yummy. A MUST try if you are interested in Filipino food. Staple place. Some of the items we always get are: siomai, palabok, siopao, and the beef wonton soup. Everything is made fresh. Loveee it here.

Each time I eat here, my experience at this restaurant is phenomenal. Service is remarkable, keeping a smile on their face and spreading a positive aura + they check up on you routinely. You can tell they put a lot of love and effort into the food they serve to you, so don't worry about not liking it. ESPECIALLY THE PALABOK. It's so good, I would slap my dead hamster awake just to have it again.
If you're craving some Filipino food, around the area or not, you should definitely come here because it really hits close to home.Helpful 5Thanks 4Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jedric T.Torrance, CA15177Jul 13, 2023
I have been coming to this restaurant ever since I was a kid and whenever I'm in the area, I order the pork siopao and kare kare from here. From what I remember, the store is a Filipino-Chinese fusion which is probably why I particularly love the food from here because of how I grew up with a Chinese Filipino background. The portions are always great for the price and whenever I'm bringing food to a party, I order from Mamiking.
The service is always friendly and typically the phone orders are answered quickly. However, if they don't answer the phone, then it's typically because they seem to be very understaffed after the pandemic and inflation. In that case, I don't mind just coming into the store, ordering in person, and waiting for the food just like with other restaurants that do not pick up the phone.
Around the area, a lot of other people grew up eating food from this restaurant as it has been open for almost 30 years now. The ambiance of the store may not be the most fancy, but I actually appreciate that because it reminds me of my childhood comfort food restaurant that is Mamiking.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tammy V.Riverview West, Santa Ana, CA32840Jul 13, 2023
I love the food here!! Especially their pork and they have very good complimentary sauces for their baos. I love the service here. Despite the amount of employees, their service is pretty good. The inside is clean too. I've heard stories about this restaurant and I can see the hard work the owners put into their restaurant. Come support!!!
