I was looking for a pair of slacks and loafers. It's my son's birthday. He's turning 23 I think. I don't know what size he is but I'm at about his height and he's about 75 pounds fewer than I am. So I grab some slacks from the slack rack and go to.the fitting room. I put them on and they are way too small so I think they would fit my son perfectly. The problem is that after I managed to button them up I couldn't undo them. They were vacuum sealed to my body. I started panicking and didn't know what to do. I tried to pick up my phone that I left in my pants but I couldn't even bend more than 15 degrees. So I walked out of the dressing room and started to look for help. I couldn't find anyone and the circulation in my legs was starting to go. I could feel my feet going numb and I was lightheaded. I went back to the changing room and pondered the predicament I had gotten myself into. I figured the only way I'll get out of this cotton coffin is to rip the pants. So I jumped in the air and with all my might, splayed my legs out like an Olympic figure skater. Sure enough the pants gave way. It was a horrible ripping noise and the pants looked like a hot dog that had been put in the microwave for too long. I left the slacks and went home. I'll try JC Penny next time.

While on vacation, I needed clothes for a funeral, and I was able to find everything I need with the help of my wife and a young salesperson. I really don't like to clothes shop but this was painless.

(For some reason I feel like all these stores are closing). I had to come into this Macy's to return a comforter I purchased online. It came damaged and mismarked because I wasn't trying to buy an extra small comforter. The employee was great and polite and helped us get our money back. We eventually did find a matching comforter in the appropriate size and didn't come damaged!!

To all the other reviews on here that are less than five stars: "Bah Humbug!" This store was amazing and the staff are absolutely incredible.
I have to admit that helping my wife shop for clothes for an event last minute may not be where my talents shine best.. And after reading some of the more depressing reviews here, I figured that we would be totally left to our own devices (for everything before the cash register).
But Kathy C. in the jewelry section not only helped confirm our choices and match everything for our event, but also added the perfect, classy yet affordable jewelry items to make my wife's evening outfit truly sparkle.
Special kudos to Kathy for going well out of her way to make our emergency shopping experience quick, painless and memorably successful!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Michael D.Rochester, NY201Dec 21, 2017
I had never been in this Macy's nor any Macy's. Unfortunately I choose this location to start. I walked and asked if they had a men's section the employee said yes but wouldn't tell me where. After looking for 20 minutes and only seeing women's clothing I found another employee and repeated the question. They said yes and when I told them I continued it they just kept saying we have one but won't show me where. I continue looking for another 10 minutes but sadly no men's clothing. I see clothes that look like they could belong in a men's section scattered in the middle of the women's area. Can anyone solve the case of the missing men's area.

I haven't been this disappointed in a store, let alone a Macy's, in a long time. I went to the Macy's home store, which is separated from the main store at Greece Ridge Mall. There were 3 employees working, one of which was cashing customers out. The other 2 decided it was a good idea to "go out to the car" while people were waiting in line. A few minutes later, I found a product that I wanted to purchase and started walking around the store in hopes that I would find another employee or a shorter line. I had zero luck.
The employees who went to their car were gone for about 10 minutes and when they returned, they thought it would be best to start straightening out tables instead of clearing out the line of customers. Instead of waiting in line, I just left the store without making a purchase. This is a great example of poor customer service. It is no shock that Macy's is in jeopardy. Customer service jobs aren't easy, but they're not exactly rocket science either. If you see customers waiting in a long line, help your fellow employee and the customers paying your salary.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Josh G.Spencerport, NY189254286May 5, 2014Updated review
What is the best word to describe one of America's most loved department stores? Tacky. Why would I be saying this to now one of the cultural icons of the great U.S.A? I don't hold a personal grudge against Macy's in any way possible yet this particular branch had me running for the exits.
It's what you expect in a Macy's right? WRONG! The decor has not been changed in quite some time and reflects the time period where Kaufmann's was still in business. This isn't really bad per se, but I would expect them to better mantain the store and at least keep it at the very most clean. The displays were worse then my closet, thrown about without any care in the world. This was probably done by the customers but how lazy are these employees? They can take some time to fix the poor displays as it only takes at the very most five minutes to show clothes.
As you can tell I have a really hard time liking this branch for its overall lack of care for the store itself while the prices and staff are actually good and a bit above average.
This doesn't excuse the poor state of Macy's...shape up or get shut down like what happened to the Bon-Ton, the choice is yours.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 26, 2014Previous reviewI could tell by the presence of the green carpet, dark mahogany wood, and the dated tile floors, that this most likely used to be a Kaufmanns at one point. Needless to say it isn't the best looking Macy's out their compared to others. The clothes tend to be either tossed around like you would see at a laundromat, the shoes were disappearing one by one, and the floors are as dusty as an attic...which sets the bar low since the floor is tile.
If this store was kept cleaner, I would kindly bump this review up to a higher star as the staff were friendly and I was satisfed with the clothing that they did carry. However, it is simply not enough to save the grand ol'e red star of wonderment. - Roni S.Rochester, NY2183751097Dec 2, 2011First to Review
This particular location is not as well maintained as the other Rochester area Macy's. Maybe I was spoiled by moving to NYC and shopping at some of the earliest locations, but the poor condition of the displays here, along with the difficult to find staff, leave me disappointed. I understand that this a big store, but it just feels consistently messy and neglected. The second floor is a bit better, maybe because it gets less foot traffic, but I still think this store has a lot to improve upon.

This store is a disgrace to Macys and the Town of Greece. The store was a mess, dirty floors, carpets, and clothes all over he place. So bad you would think you were in a messy outlet store.
