Been coming here for years and it never fails to deliver some delicious Thai street food just blocks away from the center of everything Cuban.
Be aware that there is always a line, and you have to order everything at once, you can't get a hankering for more ribs after you ordered because that's not how things work, sadly... so order all the things! Try the ribs! Get the papaya salad! Get a beer and have a good timeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin S.San Francisco, CA01Apr 19, 2024
Good, authentic feeling Thai place. Great addition to the area, especially since there aren't many good Asian options. This one hits the spot.
It's got a heavy "street food" vibe and setting. The crowd skews younger as a result. There's only outdoor seating (either on the sidewalk or on the side of the building that has a covering). No indoor seating.
The food is elevated and higher quality than I expected. We got the steamed shrimp dumplings (just normal shumai that you can get elsewhere. I'd skip it), crispy duck salad (very good and flavorful), and spicy calamari salad (also quite good with good spice). For our entrees, we got the crab and pork dry noodles (quite tasty. My wife commented that she's only seen that dish in 1 other Thai restaurant, so it must pretty legit, and it was great.) and a chicken curry (a bit too sweet for us even though we asked for it to be super spicy). 4 star type of place on Yelp for me. Total bill was $100 for 2 ppl with 2 beers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 343215645May 9, 20241 check-in
This is probably one of my favorite whole in the wall places I have ever been to. I love a place that is simple, reasonably priced and delicious.
I came on a weekday around 6 pm. It was really easy for me to find street partking but once you get close you will see parking on both sides of the road. Make sure that you pay for it with the app to avoid a ticket.
This is a place where you can only order once so you have to make sure that you are ordering enough food.
My picks were the dumplings fried, the spring rolls, theduck salad, the Tom Kah soup, and the pad thai. EVERYTHING was great! I loved the duck salad the sauce was the perfect amount of spicy. I also loved the soup it was very flavorful.
We also ordered the passionfruit sake and it was delicious.
Overall great place for a delicious meal that is not going to break the bank.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Matteo F.Brooklyn, NY3166May 16, 2024
They have no idea what hospitality is. Casual or fine dining, try to make feel people who come in your place welcome, otherwise you will keep loosing potential customers.
Good luck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karen M.Coconut Creek, FL295032Apr 30, 2024
I just went to this spot on Sun 4/21/24. I will start with the "pros": The service was fast, and good. The passion fruit sake it's out of this world and I don't even drink! The veggie spring rolls (fried) are good, and the shrimp green curry was sweet and delicious.
The cons: The Pad kee moa (drunken noodles w/shrimp) was horrible. I took two bites and told them I didn't like it. Well, they still charged for it and they never asked why or credited the meal. Completely absurd. If you are not from Miami or been to Calle 8, you have to pay for parking, if you find a spot near by. If not, get ready to walk or better yet take an Uber. The place is VERY small, the tables are very light and flimsy, and the music drove me nuts. Too loud and it was chaotic. The tip is ALREADY INCLUDED (18%). I was not aware of this and tipped an additional $15, after my wife all of a sudden started feeling very sick towards the end from eating here. I DON'T recommend and I won't be back! If you want delicious asian cuisine try Ricky Thai Bistro, Panya Thai in Miami or even Go Bistro in Hollywood. I promise these spots won't disappoint. I just want my money back, this left me traumatized.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 17, 2024
Best thai food I've had in a very very long time! My friends a local to Miami and brought us here to specifically try the khao soi, which was definetely my favorite option on the menu:) everything on the menu tasted super fresh and authentic, and I found the portions were definitely shareable. They have limited seating and make it a point to get people in and out quickly to reduce wait times (so probably don't come here if you want to dine in to catch up with people). I'll be back next time I'm in Miami!

Delicious and flavorful Thai food in a very small setting.
Right off Calle Ocho in Little Havana is Lung Yai. This is a very modest dining experience, but the food is first class! Very limited seating between the few outdoor tables.
The food itself was some of the most flavorful Thai dishes I have had. Nothing I tasted was bad. Highlight was the panaang noodles though!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 2024
The best food in calle 8 is not cuban, it is thai !
Yeap believe it or not this modest street food thai spot has everyone crazy about it .
They are a little bit pretentious in terms of booking ahead (so they don't take any reservations), and they also are very strict in terms of ordering one time only , but it is designed that way so they can serve the most amount of people in the limited space of the area. So yes, you need to put up with the rules if you would like to enjoy their unique flavoring.
We inmediately went with the Roasted Baby Back Ribs , they were crispy and the sauce spiced up the flavoring, but it didn't have that much meat in it, so disappointing.
The crispy fried oyster mushroom sauce appetizer definitely took over the ribs as a winner appetizer. The dipping sauce was on point and fried to the point to hear it crack with every bite.
The best dish was waiting for us, the khao soi--a bowl of egg noodles in a golden curry that tastes the way a hot shower feels. Get it with braised beef ! The crispy noodles are the cherry on the top! Delicious in every sense.
Their classic pad thai is also very legit . Fresh in flavor and combines all the right condiments. To wrap up the main entrances, we included a crab fried . Well balanced but missing a lot of crab meat in it.
Be prepared to pay the old fashion way, they don't accept apple pay.
Overall an unexpected experience in Little Havana . It reminded me to the Seinfield episode of the soup nazi because of their strict ordering system, service, and their quick paced ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Apr 1, 20241 check-in
Only complaint you can only order once ! ( I understand why they do this, so just make sure you order everything you want!)
Great dining experience at Lung Yai! Place is fast paced, food comes out fresh and hot. Ambiance is typical Thai restaurant with the lights and clean place. They never let your water run dry (sooo important and hospitable )
Need to knows: you walk up and put your name on a list, the earlier your arrive the less wait (depending on the day) and stick around bc they just yell your name. You can only order once (all food, apps, and etc)! Small establishment but great food!!
We ordered: shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, 5 wings, coconut noodle plate (forgot the name) and clean noodles with chickenHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I recently had the delightful experience of dining at Lung Thai, a restaurant that had been on my radar for months, thanks to a recommendation from a fellow foodie. From the very first bite, I found myself regretting eating that I hadn't visited this gem sooner.
Tucked away in a cozy corner, Lung Thai boasts an unassuming yet inviting ambiance. The indoor dining area is quaint, complemented by sidewalk seating .
Every dish not only met but often exceeded my expectations.
The service was great and my server was not only attentive but also took the initiative to offer recommendations, enhancing my dining experience. It's worth noting that the restaurant has a policy where orders are placed all at once, with no room for additions after the fact--thankfully, this rule generously excludes drinks.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, arriving early worked in my favor, allowing me to secure a spot right in front of the restaurant. Given the restaurant's size and popularity, I opted for lunch, since I have been told that there can be a long wait for the dinner crowd.
In conclusion, my visit to Lung Thai was nothing short of spectacular. It's a place I find myself eagerly looking forward to returning to--hopefully much sooner rather than later.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1136129Apr 7, 2024
easily my favorite Thai place in Miami! they don't take sit down reservations, but the food is well worth the wait. Khao Soi is an absolute must try, and we also loved the ribs and dumplings on our most recent visit!! note that you can only put in one food order for the table, but this rule doesn't apply to drinks!
