What I like about Lowe's is that for the post part, one can be confident to find pretty much the same line of products and similar setup regardless of town or even state in which it's located. The parking lots are invariably adequate in size, and the garden center is my favorite entrance, in weather in which my nostrils aren't frozen shut together. The employees are pretty consistently helpful, perhaps because there are a decent number of retirees who have a strong work ethic. The prices are fair and the products of decent quality. I can't say that the Chambersburg, PA location was any different than any other Lowe's I've been in, and that was my point. Yes, I'll return if/when I need something.

Don't have valspar Antique white paint. This store is going to crap. Trying to finish a job with no supplies available from Lowe's. You need to improve just to suck. Self check out top of crap service.

Good and organized, I popped in to this Lowe's for one item. I was able to easily find it especially after I downloaded and installed their app, which had a map that pointed me to the correct aisle and even where it was on that aisle.
Checkout was speedy with a sufficient number of registers open.
The store is clean and well lit. It's just like any other Lowe's that I've patronized.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Susan T.Philadelphia, PA032Apr 4, 2019
My hot water heater of 16 yrs quit working that was a previous purchase from Lowe's with a life-time warranty. I was very stressed and overwhelmed working with the warranty company to get a new hot water heater. I then called Lowe's in Chambersburg and talked to Mr. Tim Leahey, sales specialist in plumbing dept. He was EXTREMELY helpful and reassuring. He was able to cut thru the warranty red tape, get an incredible deal on the new hot water heater, get installation set up and called me multiple times to make sure I was aware of his progress and getting things set up. I cannot thank him enough for how thoughtful and kind he was to help me. I don't know how I would have managed to get thru all the red tape and get my hot water heater replaced without him. I got the new hot water heater installed the next morning. Wonderful service! I highly recommend them!

Do not use for flooring! Terrible customer service. They use third party installers who they cannot control. The measuring person said that the floor could be tiled in my bathroom no problem even though there was a 6 inch by 6 inch issue by the shower that needed some wood epoxy or something put down prior. The measuring person reassured me that it would be no issue. Then they missed three different install dates and I had to wait on hold every time to figure out where they were and why it wasn't done. Wasted Basically a month of my life on these people trying to get a floor installed. Finally when the person actually showed up to install the floor they said they couldn't do it. Terrible customer service. Patronize other flooring businesses in the area who actually care about their customers and the services they provide. Went to another business in town and they already are way more helpful and willing to do the job for less.

In Chambersburg, Lowe's seems to have the best selection in many home improvement areas.
Disclaimer: I'm more of a Home Depot fan. They seem to have cleaner stores with higher quality merchandise. But because there is not a Home Depot in Chambersburg, I can't really compare it to Lowe's. Lowe's has a very broad selection of home improvement and gardening items. In the summer, their plants are very well priced, although I'd rather look at Lurgan Greenhouse first. Lowe's also has a large seasonal section. Many of their Christmas items are marked down considerably after the season is over, so you can get some pretty good deals around then. Although they don't have nearly as many registers open as Home Depot, the lines are never too terribly long.
For a home improvement store, Lowe's seems to balance selection and convenience pretty well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - PitBull D.Alexandria, VA94507273Sep 4, 2013
I went in to get some planting soil and a few other items like weed 'n ' feed.
At the Garden Center check out the cashier was waiting for the manager for a "void." There were no other check outs open. So we waited, and waited, and waited, about 10 minutes.
Once the void was processed (simple matter of scanning a bar code on the back of the manager's ID tag) the customer in front of me apologized for the delay, and I said, it wasn't her fault.
When the cashier asked me how I was doing, I wanted to tell her the truth but took the high road and made small talk. She did NOT apologize to me and the others behind me in line that had the extended wait.
I worked at The Other Big Box Home Improvement Store in VA for nearly 8 months as a cashier until late March of this year and this type of situation would be rare because cashiers are "empowered." Also, the manager frequently would have been the one speaking to each person in line that was inconvenienced.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Willow L.Fayetteville, PA0159154May 27, 2014
We've certainly patronized this Chambersburg Lowe's many, many times. It's a great Lowe's. Their garden center is nice, although this year it seems they slacked a bit in keeping things watered.
They have a nice, large parking lot, but it can fill up quite a bit on a busy weekend day.
Several years ago we bought a washer and dryer and had them delivered to our home. The buying process was good, of course, the sales person tried to upsell a bit, but that IS their job. Delivery was very quick. The delivery guys set it up with hot and cold water backwards, but mistakes happen. It was a pretty hot day and they had to climb up to the third floor with both machines, so I forgave the set-up oversight. At least they were friendly!
We're at this Lowe's frequently, hubby more than me. He tries to always go to the same cashier who is super friendly. He had one cashier recently who was a real grouch, but luckily the general staff is not like that. Anyone we've asked for help in the aisles have been really nice.
This seems like a well-run Lowe's.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mikey B.Waynesboro, PA2115140May 14, 2016
I often go to local store but they usually do not have what I want , I also go to the one by my job they too often when checking their computer say Chambersburg store has it. Why I don't just go there first is beyond me. The workers seem to be very helpful from product selection to purchase to loading and delivery. I purchased a sink today before they loaded it the noticed it was cracked , Sandra helped me find another one in stock , inspected it for damage and helped at the register and got me help loading it in the rain!
