Los Magueyes

We went here on a whim - honestly not knowing what to expect since we had never been to Kearney before. The restaurant is like most traditionally named Mexican restaurants which has booths and tables along with a small bar in the back.

Looking over the menu, it was fairly similar to what you might expect, I didn't really see anything that stood out and I didn't know exactly what I wanted to eat. Then I noticed a picture of what appeared to be an extra wide taco that looked quite appealing. It was pictured in the section of taco salads which they had a few variations of. They had a fajita taco salad and a combination taco salad which was grilled chicken, steak, and shrimp with veggies in a giant fried burrito shell that was in the shape of a taco. My wife got the chile verde with chicken. Both of our meals were top notch! The meat was cooked perfectly which came out tender and well seasoned. The chile verde was delicious and flavors were bold which we like!

Our server was very good and service was fast! We are debating on whether we are going to go back for lunch today it was THAT good!

During our road trip from California, my husband and I stumbled upon this place. Craving authentic Mexican cuisine, I discovered it online and after reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend it and would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

I give it 3.5 stars. The food is descent and the restaurant is very clean, and the service was fast and friendly. We were driving through and didn't want junk food. My kid had the fajita nachos and I had an enchilada and a taco. The chips and salsa are also good. Overall, for the middle of Nebraska where there is so much fast food we were pleased to have a pretty good on the road meal. It was also not expensive, I think it was about $30 including a 20% tip.

Such a cute place for tasty Mexican food! The service was quick and attentive. The margaritas were tasty but their menu could use better info on sizing & pricing for them.

They started by bringing us chips and salsa that came in a mini carafe - love it! We came here because they had a dedicated vegetarian section on their menu and both meals we chose were delicious! My partner got the combo vegetarian dish that came with Chile relleno and they wish it wasn't fried but they still enjoyed the dish.

Overall, good food and great service with a full bar and free chips and salsa!

RJ and myself here for lunch today. We had a variety for food and Mexico CocaCola. All was real good.

Passing through Kearney and stopped for dinner.
We had their combo plate and a Daquiri Rumchata and carnitas and horchata.

Restaurant was nice and clean. Food was good. Their Rumchata was a delicious rummy drink that also served as my dessert

The waiter was nice and attentive.

Their chips and salsa were especially good. The chips were light and not oily. They brought the salsa in a mini carafe w/2 small bowls for each of us.

The place doesn't look like much outside , but when you get inside you will find a very clean restaurant with a lot of smiling faces. Service was top notch and the food is simply amazing. I enjoyed the Colorado burritos (pork) I asked for a hotter salsa then the regular stuff they bring out, let's put it this way, my nose is running as I write this. Very good but very hot. I will be back when visiting Kearney.

The server had attitude and we were the only one in place, food was below average, but the environment wasn't bad. With that being said I wouldn't recommend Los Magueyes.

Just fair, nothing over the top delicious but not terrible either. The portions were smaller then expected . Fried ice cream was NOT fried, just rolled in corn flakes . Clean and waitress was very attentive
